Thank you for the awesome video, a former co-worker of mine moved to Dubai to manage restaurants 10 years ago. At the time he was just a 35 something from Ohio, who had never traveled out side the US. He jumped at the opportunity, that was offered to him by a generous customer . Although, initially he had some uncertain feelings,. He ended up having great success in Dubai, and apparently loves living there.

Great vidio, I lived in Dubai in the early 80s when the tallest building was the Trade Center. I loved Dubai back then. How it is now is Way beyond me. Thanks for the great vidio.
I remember Dubai from 1972, my first visit there (only for re-fueling stop, one and half hour.) En-route to Sidney, Australia. Since then I had been there several times during nearly half Century. And I had seen how Dubai has changed along the Decades. I was working for PAN AM over 20 years, until the bitter end, the Banktrupty in December 1991. I had been visiting World around, nearly 100 differend Countries, but Dubai is Best. And also one of the most Expensive Place. Thank you Tim for your marvelous Video of the one of most Amazing Place in Earth.

Such a beautiful place I shall live there one day.... thanks for the video it brings everything to life more.... and such great shots all around thanks a million or a Billion I should say... because to live there it will cost a bundle but im guessing it would be worth it... just wish I would have been one of the lucky ones who just were born into wealth... some of us have to work for everything we get and others get everything handed to them on a golden platter.... its just not fair... there is plenty of food wealth and everything on this planet but most of the really good things are only experienced by the wealthy or very lucky... some people work to get there but for most its a struggle
CLS CLS Im not reach,believe me,read more comments,ppl like you,me and others travelled there,flight tickets might be expensive depending where you fly from and which season.But life there isn’t costly.20 british pounds a night in 3 stars hotels,breakfast included.I flight one way from UK to Dubai with only 56£ ! Back with 130£ Food where normal people will eat its very cheap! Of course if you want luxury you WILL spend a fortune! But if you do a decent visit ,and believe me there are incredible places to see for free,go for it.I payed a total of 800£ for a 12 days trip.And It was amazing! I had 3 visits already in 1 year.I am not rich,just a simple worker in UK with minimum wages,but I used to visit my fiancee(currently my wife) as she used to work at the DWC airport in Dubai,so I had to go see her.I wish you will have the chance to see Dubai,at least one time,it worth it 100%! Best of luck!!!
Well detail video. Thanks for sharing. Burj Kalifa tower's lifts are far better than Kowloon sky 100. That's really proven that dubai is really worthy for me to experience this and has overtaken Hainan Island's resort hotel before. Based on my budget, i only can stay there for six days only.

Fabulous video of a hideous place, where shopping in air conditioned malls for expensive, glitzy stuff you can very easily live without is the principal pastime, surrounded by a flat and featureless desert where the temperature exceeds 50C (122F) in Summer, a sea that has neither tide nor waves and a people who are less than renowned for their hospitable spirit unless you have something they want. In spite of the myriad of huge, shiny buildings there are to gawk at, there is nothing in Dubai that can compare with the majesty and beauty of Mother Nature. The Las Vegas of the Middle East without the gambling; a wholly artificial man-made homage to extravagance and excess that does absolutely nothing for the human soul. In terms of cities worth visiting around the world, this one doesn't even make the list. But kudos for the very well-taken video.

With little or no pay & some food, they work until the building work is finished then if they are not needed further, they have their passports given back to them & sent out of the country to their homelands. Also the rich Arabs hire women as maids and mistreat them by making them work all night and day those poor women don't get any sleep and the worst thing is that the men in the house demand sex from them. Most of the maids have to escape and leave then can't get jobs because those people they worked for won't return their passports. Dubai is one of the richest cities in the world, but it looks disgusting, a bunch of skyscrapers in the middle of the desert. Big fancy buildings in a city thrown together in a decade with absolutely no culture. No thanks. Dubai is a plastic land, filled with shiny things to make people go "oooh" here's my wallet, I'll do everything. And there are 30,000 prostitutes working in Dubai. :-P So fucking disgusting! Money will make some women lose all respect for themselves. Dubai gives the impression of being a safe holiday hot spot with its plush hotels, sandy beaches and thanks to its strict Islamic religion very little crime, alcohol or sex. But behind the windowless bars and clubs, prostitutes are busy plying their trade. They come from all over: Nigeria, Philippines, China, Thailand, Armenia, Western Europe, Russia, and Ukraine. Dubai is an expensive imitation of Sodom and Gomorrah. Dubai is basically everything wrong with humanity in one city. That place is boring as fuck. Great city for a 1 month vacation, shit city to live in, everything seems so artificial. Dubai is hot most of the year and even at night there's no breeze. It's like a microwave, trust me. :-P Night time in Dubai is unbearable because of humidity.
