this band does not get enough respect. Every album they wrote is incredibly talented and each song they release is a masterpiece. One of the most underrated bands of all time
@@JulianDeBacker You got it,on his birthday in 1982, Pål and Magne knocked on his door, and gave him a Yucca plant as a gift. And the band was official too.
I didn't know this was only released here in Brazil! Congratulations then! My father has the complete collection too (except for the bridges vynils, of course, and Morten's Letter from Egypt, which wasn't released in Brazil).
It's awesome that finally you could complete your a-ha collection, am looking forward to complete my collection too, but i am still missing this vinyl, could you please tell me where did you find it?
im norwegian and i remember i saw on tv that someone called aha a pop group, and Paul lowkey didnt like it and said ``we are also rock`` , u can easly hear the rock n roll in their 1986 album, Manhatten skylines, schedual days, ive been loosing u, or even in their 87 album with the 007 song, living daylights. the only thing u miss in ur aha collection are 7 inch vinyl singles. they are very cheap and fun to collect for
Oh, sure, pop/rock/alternative, many genres, I never meant to call them 'just' a pop group :) I do have at least fifteen 7" singles and five 12" singles, but not all of them. There's quite a lot to collect. Congratulations on being Norwegian, by the way, one of the coolest countries on earth.
Congrats! I've been thinking about doing something similar... Here's a question: do you think the sound is actually better on vinyl as people say or do you think CD quality is similar? Even for the average ear, I mean. Take care!
Hm, difficult. I don't think it's really a questing of better or worse. There are horrible vinyl records out there, and there are crappy compact discs. It comes down to quality mastering, comparable to how you preserve and present a movie on disc. I have been collecting vinyl records since 2000 - back then, I just thought they were 'cooler' than compact discs - and I'm a big fan of the format, but I would never diss a CD. Some people claim analogue formats (vinyl, cassette, reel-to-reel) have more "warmth" (difficult to measure), comparable to film grain. It makes it more real, more tangible, less digital, less perfect. I can see that, and I love the hiss and pops of a record. 'Memorial Beach' came out in 1993, when vinyl was dying, and I have only listened to this record once, so I'm definitely more familiar with the CD version (both the original 1993 version and the 2015 expanded). To my humble/untrained ears, both sounds perfectly fine. But a real audiophile may have another opinion.
@@JulianDeBacker Thanks so much for taking the time to answer, very helpful, great insights. I guess I will have to find the proper piece of equipment and do the test myself to see how my ears react to it. I'll let you know!

True. They're my favourite pop band, I love them dearly.
A very precious collection. A-ha, the best for me since the 80ies, they are still lightening and soothing timeless musical need in my soul.
For sure! Their new album, out next week, is excellent as well. They've been consistently great for over 37 years.
@@JulianDeBacker Last 14th of September,it was exactly 40 years,that a-ha was formed ;-)
@@jeaneta-ha1839 That's awesome. 14 September also happens to be Morten Harket's birthday.
