Alabama Arsenal is extremely under rated. Has the production value/content of a million+ subscriber channel.
Please tell all your friends! LOL! Really appreciate that! and thanks for watching!
Truth!
facts, just give it time
Better quality than ANY gun channel that I have seen.
Great review as always! Springfield used to be a company I pretty much wrote off a few years ago but now they’ve got a lot of great products and a much wider portfolio. It’s clear they’ve been listening to market demands.
They really are, and I was blown away by this offering! Thanks for watching!
Is this superior to something like the bergara b14?
Looks like a great gunbut why would they put the magazine release in the trigger guard? That just makes me cringe growing up with the fundamentals of no finger in the trigger till ready to fire 🥴
How does 6.5PRC compare to 6.5x55 Swede?
Too bad I can't find 6.5 PRC rounds for less than what I pay for 338 lapua...
I have found them online at Green Acres sporting goods for around $70. I have paid $120 for them and that is more than I pay for 50 BMG.
They were $1.50/round before the shortage and went up to $6.50/round during it. Other than if you're just hunting with it that's why you don't go into a caliber like 6.5prc at all unless you can you afford to stack enough ammo/reloading components to burn out at least a couple of barrels.
Is that all you do is bitch?
6.5 prc barrel life 700+ rounds.... I'll take 6.5 creedmore for 2000+ round barrel life or better yet the 3500+ round barrel life of the 308 cal
good review. thx. tip for the shooter at 8:10 - he will get a lot better consistency and accuracy if he squares up straight behind the rifle and keeps his face on the gun throughout the string of fire. (not being a jerk, just trying to help)
that was my first thoughts when I saw this as well.
Your content and production is such high quality!
Really appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal of course we all appreciate the time, energy, and cost to make content!
@@AlabamaArsenal who made the 1903 Springfield? Wasn’t that a bolt action? Come on bubba, read a history book, or talk to an old serviceman...my dad was still shooting the 1903 Springfield alongside the M14 and the M1 Garand in the early 60’s
@@larryhughes4888 Double check the history, it’s a different company entirely, I assure you.
@@AlabamaArsenal it was in fact Springfield armory who made the 1903... however it was owned an operated by the government in Springfield Massachusetts. 1974 I believe is when the current Springfield armory we all know and love was established.
I've seen this gorgeous rifle in person and I can't wait to get my hands on mine in 6.5 creedmore next month!
So basically a bergara b14 HMR ripoff, with a carbon fiber barrel and higher price..
Not even close, ag composites makes far nicer stocks than the hmr, the barrels are ridiculously accurate and the blanks alone are like 700 bucks so that’s where the price comes from, way way smoother action, comes with a much nicer trigger. You really need to handle one to understand the difference, the bergara is like a work truck, gets the job done but the way point is like the platinum with all the bells and whistles. Also is a 700 foot print so if anything is a Remington 700 just far far nicer.
Not exactly, I love the Hmr and think it’s an excellent rifle. That being said the waypoint is a completely different animal. It has the feel of high end customs without the price. For the record that’s me doing a lot of shooting in the video like the off hand 1000 shot. The waypoints weight is distributed perfectly and it is great for odd position shooting.
I can just underline, what is written before. The way you are explaining products is fantastic. One of the best RUclips channels! I am always looking forward, what is coming next. Phenomenal, thank you!
Wow, thank you! And thank you so much for watching!
This Springfield Waypoint 6.5 PRC Impressed Me So Much I Purchased 4 Of Them. I Also Have 4 Browning Hells Canyon In .300 PRC The Big Brother To The 6.5 PRC. Covering All My Needs Between These 2 Different PRC Calibers. I ONLY Use BANISH Or CGS Suppressors!! Great Footage. Keep It Coming.
Bro has 8 arms
@@firefly9838 No I Have 26 Firearms. These 4 Work Extremely Well Like The Rest. Reloading Is Absolutely Necessary As I Shoot 2 Times A Month With 50 Others. Can Never Have Enough Ammo. Good Luck.
6.5 PRC the rounds are stupid expensive and barrel life is equal to poopy.
Excellent video Tim! I think I need one in 7mm RemMag with a 1:8 twist, or a 7mm-08 with a 1:8 twist... 😏
That would be cool! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for another great video. We use and reference your videos in our shop. Cant tell you how many Romeo 5's probably have been sold because of you!
LOL! Thank you for watching and glad I could help!
Fer reals!? Damn that's what I'm talking about Willis!
LOL! Thanks for watching brother!
What brand tripod is that?
No one is carrying them. Particularly the 6.5PRC.
lol'd at 6:40
Feed that Algorithm
Yes please! and thank you!
6.5 PRC is the guy your girlfriend told you not to worry about!!! OMFG, that’s a great description, and what I’m using from now on!!!
I definitely want one just in 308 . And thanks for a great day at Alabama precision ,
I mean why do you need anything more than 308? Am I right? LOL! Thanks for watching man!
So may nice rifles in this price range. This one, DD 5 Pro, Masterpiece arms....
There are a lot of great choices, but this is definitely a serious contender. Thanks for watching!
Great review! Been interested in a waypoint for a while now but cant find one in .308
They're still a little hard to find, but definitely worth looking at! Thanks for watching!
No go until they offer it for left handers
Better then Daniel defense?
And my voice did make its way into the video at the end....
I Have 4 Savage 110 Tactical With Oversized Fluted Big Bolt Knob With Fluted Barrel. These 4 Will Do Anything The Springfield Waypoint Does With The Ridiculous Cost. All 4 Of Savages I Purchased For What 1 Waypoint Goes For. Savage Has Makes Incredible Rifles & Have For A Long While. To Each Their Own However Waypoint Is Far Overpriced.
Let Go Of My Waypoints For A Spectacular Trade For The 110 Tactical Savages.
WTF! $10.00 a round! that's insane, .338 lapua is literally half the price per round, why would anybody go with 6.5 PRC over .338 Lapua and with the .338 you'd hit a mile with your eyes closed
This channel is impressive!
Really appreciate that man! Be sure to tell your friends! Thanks for watching!
To compare a 6.5 Creedmore to a 338 Lapua Magnum, under any circumstances, at any time is just a bit too much poetic license.
The Waypoint is seriously a beautiful bolt rifle with all the bells and whistles..
I’ll get one in .308 with the carbon barrel and adjustable stock . Awesome review fella 👍
110 Tactical Savage Has Excellent Trigger & The Bolt It Fluted As Well.
I don’t know if you check comments on older vids but after watching this and your review of the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro, I wanted to ask which one you gave the edge to straight out of the box? Thank you for dropping the knowledge!
Specifically what magazines will work for these rifles in 6.5prc
Hope you saved your brass! You should spend that money on dies, powder and primers. I hardly ever get to the range much anymore but I couldn’t afford to go at all if I didn’t roll my own. Tuned rounds to your particular barrel with that gun could have you banging out single hole groups at 100 yards!
Wow. Thow shalt not covet.
But there must be an exception for the waypoint and your set up.
Someday. Someday.
Great video
LOL! Appreciate you watching man!
Any problems with brass shavings getting into the ejector hole and keeping the ejector from functioning?
I waited months for this rifle. To include calling Springfield and inquiring its release dates.( multiple times....lolololol)
I must say it was worth the wait. 6.5 in CF and it definitely got some heads turned when I set it down at the range. Only have about 60 rounds thru it and for my first bolt gun, Im glad I chose this one over any others on the market.
You got yourself a great rifle! Thanks for watching!
Springfield HAS made a bolt action rifle before. I believe it was the first thing they ever made. 120 years ago but still....lol
I guess now I have to compare this new rifle to the bergaras I have been looking at.
Definitely worth a look! Thanks for watching!
Went into the gun store to check out a Springfield Emissary (beautiful pistol) and the clerk showed one of these 2020s to me and I was astonished by the weight and features. I might be getting one of these.
Did you have any issues with the action function? Feeding extraction, bolt drag?
Never even shot a rifle and probably never will. But man, your videos are so good I watched it. Lol
LOL! really appreciate that man! And thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal After watching one of your video about sig cross 6.5 creedmoor i ended up buying 1 along with a suppressor 😁
I've heard this is coming out in 7Prc ...I'll be getting one if so.
Springfield has been really hitting it outta the park lately
After watching vids on the waypoint and the desert tech srs a2 I just can’t justify spending 2x as much on the srs over the waypoint. Thing is just too good to pas sup for the price.
Are you direct thread the Hyperion? Using a shoulder ring?
Your videos are always improving & impressive.
The change of music from the sad stuff of the past is very welcome.
Thank you very much! Yeah we're trying some new music and I'm liking it too. Thanks for watching!
Not capable of “full semi-auto”.
🤦♂️ FFS
They need 3 more chamberings, 300 wsm, 6.8 Western and if they really want to turn heads 7 rsaum.
yes, and 270WSM would be nice
@@TimKollat 6.8 western is the new 270 wsm. The 270 wsm would be redundant and they would likely put it out in a low twist rate. A custom 270wsm in a medium action with fast twist would be awesome though.
Gorgeous rifle, and what brought me here was the fact that this rifle is nearly identical to the Weatherby Mark V Carbonmark Elite that I just purchased 2 months ago.
>Springfield
Yup not buying it but I'll watch anyway for Alabama arsenal
Appreciate you watching brother!
Hi, what is the make/model of the bipod mount and the tripod mount used?
What do you recommend for action screw torque?
Great video!! Please let us all know when this will be available in full semi auto 😂 🤦🏼
What are your thoughts on SA's history of supporting gun control in their home state of IL? As nice of a rifle as the Waypoint is (and I'm definitely not gonna tell you how I'm drooling over your setup), how does it stack up against other bolt actions you've reviewed? Such as that Bergara 300 PRC that you took out to a mile?
Also, how is the Riton scope working out? I saw another channel using it also and I'm a bit curious
Well of course I'm not fond of what happened, but I feel a lot of time has passed and I'd like to think they learned from their mistakes. I'd say that the waypoint is more in line with a premiere Bergara, meaning that its nicer than the HMR you're referencing, but it also costs more. Only you can decide based on your budget what is right for you, the HMR will definitely get the job done, but the waypoint like a Bergara premiere are a little more refined. The Riton X7 is very impressive! More to come on that one! Thanks for watching!
Could you put a link in for the scope?
Nice Review Brother! Carry on
Thank you brother!
Bergara is the best for the money...
What tripod is featured in this video?
Where’s the mag from?
Hello, thanks for this great video! In this video it appears in some footage that you are using an extended 10 round magazine with this rifle. You never touched upon that when you got to the 'accessories' portion of the video could you give us some information on that. Thanks!
Sorry about that I should have. They’re MDT 6.5PRC tuned mags from MDT. If you have a different caliber any AICS compatible magazine should work, but the tuned ones work better with the 6.5PRC. Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal Oh no need to apologize, I really appreciate the reply. Especially for an older video. I'm impressed that you guys are still monitoring the discussion and replying to your viewers questions on a vid that's over a year old. Glad I discovered your channel, I subscribed!
Who makes your scope mount?
Does the rifle come in lefties shooters?
This or the Bergara Wilderness HMR you reviewed previously? It looks like the Waypoint is about $500-600 more than the Wilderness HMR, is the difference worth it?
Thanks for the amazing content, the editing and recording is next level!

@@AlabamaArsenal thanks for taking the time to reply, the Waypoint is looking like a better option for me.
Thanks for the reply, as I have also been looking hard at the Bergara HMR Wilderness.
Oh nice same question I had except in thinking of regular hmr vs way point. At $949 I'm thinking hmr.
@@TheMadShredder You will not be let down by the hmr. I have the HMR in 308 and absolutely love it as do all my shooting friends. One right now whom is shooting a savage 110 is probably going to end up with an 308 HMR if I were a betting man.
Nice been meaning to go up to that range. If you ever want to shoot a video down in mobile we have a 1000 yard range over at silvercreek range.
Might take you up on that someday! Thanks for watching!
Very well composed video. Piano and drums. Superb combination. I will look at the rifle as well.
LOL! Appreciate that!
Spoiler alert at 0:07
I just like to think of that as not wasting your time lol! Thanks for watching!
awesome rifle !!!! have you tested this against any other other 6.5 prc rifle yet ?
To be honest this is my first and only 6.5PRC to date. Thanks for watching!
You say around the 3:35 ish mark that Springfield armory has never made a bolt action rifle before. Is this not the same company that made the 1903? Springfield en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1903_Springfield
Is this a different company? I’m confused
Someone help me out please
No the og springfeild closed in the 60s, the Reese’s started today’s Springfeild in the early 70a
Yeah what Rock River Outdoors said is correct. They’re not really the same company. Thanks for watching.
Waypoint vs tikka t3s tact a1... Watched both review. Which would you get?
Maybe I just missed it, but what kind of 6.5 PRC magazines are you using, the larger ones? Thanks!
I have a waypoint in .308 that I want to put a suppressor on. The BSF barrel states you can’t use more then 15ft/lbs on a muzzle device and the suppressor company wants you to use 45 ft/lbs on their muzzle device. What did you end up doing to mount yours?
No full semi auto!!! WTH. I’ve been looking everywhere for a full semi auto bolt gun and I just knew SA was going to deliver with this one
Springfield? Good for them! They actually make their own barrels?
How does this compare to the christensen arms Ridgeline? I'm stuck between both..
Personally, I'd probably take this. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for an entertaining video! I'll have to write this one up for a future gun!
Great review! Keep it up!!
At the top of my list of wants atm. SS or carbon barrel is the debate.
Either way I’ll think you’ll be very impressed! Thanks for watching!
Sorry but, Springfield has made bolt actions in the past. I have one. And it's fantastic to this day. For being damn near 100 years old
Great video super rifle love SpringField Armory..👍🏻 💕 🇺🇸
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Always a pleasure watching your reviews we have similar great tastes in fire arms I was a Ex sniper in 🇬🇧Special Forces 22nd 👍🏻 Accuracy international was my go to in my service, I just appreciate your channel 💯 %. 🇺🇸 🌎 🇬🇧
I love 🇺🇸America & a big fan of President 🇺🇸Donald J Trump
Try a lighter load. Mine in creed and shoots .25 moa 5 shot groups with berger 135gr classic hunters 👌
Don't lose the mags. AICS mags are not cheap. HMR Pro comes with a 8 round. Who hunts with that. After 2 years of looking I finally found a 3 rounder for $65.
Sure this is a fine rifle, but I wouldn't give Springfield so much credit. They are using an aftermarket stock, barrel and trigger group.
Seems like an awesome gun. 1 mile shots on a ststionary target seem cool, but I prefer dropping a living animal at 400 yards instead
I’ll be getting one! Anyone have experience with these and Sako rifles? How do they compare?
Springfield Waypoint vs Tikka UPR?
I'm vary Intrested in the waypoint but I think I fall over when you said 10 bucks a round damm
Does it take standard AR10 mags?
No, AICS. Thanks for watching.
Bolt guns can totally shoot fully semi automatic! You have no clue what you're talking about!!!
But does it have grip zone?
LOL! Sadly they left that feature off. Thanks for watching!
How can I come out and shoot the mile, without spending $500?
If there’s a way to do that I’m not aware of it LOL! Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal it’s 500$ to shoot a mile?
Jake.
You can find these street value for about 1900/1800 right now. Get the fixed stock with carbon barrel. Deadly accurate. Wish they made one in 7mag.
Awesome video once again guys. Simply top notch. You have the best filmed and editing of any gun channel I have viewed. I am watching the video on an iPhone 12 Pro. I noted the beginning says 720p60fps and in the middle it switched to 1080p60fps. Did you film at different resolutions or was this a RUclips algorithm? Do you film at 4K and then resize? Thx again cheers!
Dang good review , I shoot 6.5 Creed more in a new Browning Hells Canyon Max Long Range and it's pretty fine. I like this Springfield Waypoint and would make a nice edition to my Hunting L.R. builds that are versitilal for any situation. Springfield has been a go to for many different needs , with their 1911s and M1A rifles , Springfield is at the top ! Thanks for a great review Stay Strong 💪 🇺🇸😎
The jokes were a great addition to famously consistently great content.
Love it dudes! Between this & a Christianson Arms MPR
For their entry into bolt gun they crushed it... I ordered the carbon fiber 6.5 Creedmoor about a week ago and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!!
I think you'll be blown away! Thanks for watching!
There damn nice, I’ve played with some at gun shops but mines been on order since November and they still don’t have a delivery date.
