    In this video, I talk about what to expect when you see a psychiatrist for the first time. How long does the psychiatry visit last? What to come prepared to discuss when seeing a psychiatrist? I hope this video helps demystify the psychiatry visit and helps you understand what exactly happens when you go to see a psychiatrist. I explain if psychiatrist do therapy or just medication management as well as a brief note about your follow up psychiatric visit. What happens when you follow up with a psychiatrist after your first visit? Lastly, I briefly mention the importance of your psychiatrist being a "good fit" for you.

    Have my first every appointment today. I am mortified about having to talk to another person about my issues, and was terrified that the appointment would be too open ended because I prefer things to be structured so that I don't spiral. This video really helped in calming down a bit, although I kind of wish I was seeing you as my psychiatrist lol.

      Turn to bible and allow CHRIST to be your therapist, psychologist and psychiatrist. No man nor women fits to be one. All are sinners and without glory, all are tempted and suffer the same.
      All are expected to REPENT AND BORN AGAIN, to LIVE HOLY AND GO AND SIN NO MORE.
      All are weak in the daily fight between their spirit and flesh.
      All these therapist, psychologist and psychiatrist, this world provides, can do is:
      to deceive and steal.
      They deceived you through all these “diagnoses” and they steal your money, through all the pills which you “need”.
      In short: they poison your mind and your overall health, leaving you with neither one.
      Therapist, Psychologist and Psychiatrist = Field where no human soul, never ever going to fit of being an help, no matter the among of years spend in “medical schools” or the decree gotten from there.
      ALL of us are daily deceived, no matter the walks of life.

    I had one Psych appt. I thought it was great, then I went in for 2nd. I had psych changed and they had no info on me. I have found that asking for medical help has caused me more anxiety and depression. When depressed, it's hard to ask about side effects. You figure everything will continue to F up your life. Now my life is piled with medical bills and I have lost my job. This is why people jump off bridges.
    (But not your video, you seem nice).

    So patience will get a diagnosed and get medication on their first visit?

    • @n.o.atheexplorer
      @n.o.atheexplorer  2 года назад +5

      No, not always! sometimes we do not make a diagnosis because we do not have enough information to do so. and we do not always prescribe a medication if we feel it is not needed or the patient does not want any medications. thanks for watching!

    • @n.o.atheexplorer
      @n.o.atheexplorer  9 месяцев назад

      I can't give specific medical advice here but I can speak in general terms. Most people go in with questions written down so they don't forget their questions. So writing down notes or things to say/ask is always helpful. You can also ask for a print out after the visit which most doctor's office do but you can ask for yours to have specific instructions for you as well. Glad you are taking this step for your health! Good luck!

    what if i don’t feel like sharing info? What will they do?

    • @n.o.atheexplorer
      @n.o.atheexplorer  Год назад +1

      That would be between you and your psychiatrist. The more information we have, the more we can help. I typically ask why someone does not want to share but I don't probe if you decide not to. We usually just document that you did not share the information or answer the question and that's it. As long as the information asked is not about imminent risk of harm to yourself or anyone else. Again, it's between you and your psychiatrist to come to a decision. Thanks for watching!

    Are they able to write letter for emotional support animal?

    • @n.o.atheexplorer
      @n.o.atheexplorer  Год назад

      That will depend on each physician if they write those letters. In my training we do not write them because we cannot certify that the animal is trained so we will ask folks to go to a center that can actually see the animal and make sure it is trained. Then that center can write the letter.

    • @n.o.atheexplorer
      @n.o.atheexplorer  10 месяцев назад

      This depends on the individual and their psychiatrist. On the specific conversations they have. I can do another video on general things we consider regarding suicide but it really depends on what you discuss with your physician.
