YES! You are in my country. If you are still here, you should check the part where I'm from, it's called Karpenissi and the general region is called Evrytania. A place filled with recent and ancient history since it has been inhabited for a very long time. Actually the Gauls had a fight there and lost to the local people, almost 2000 years ago. The town is built on 900 meters altitute and the peak of the mountain is 2.300m. They call us the Switzerland of Greece. Definitely give a look.

We'd never seen landscapes like that either Clive! It felt so wild and completely rugged. The sheepdogs were an entirely new and interesting experience 😂🙈
Hi guys! All the best for your continued journey. I can highly recommend some places, should your path happen to be compatible with visiting them: Pelion peninsula--beautiful forest-covered mountainous area with unique villages and wild beaches on east coast (definitely visit Tsagarada village with one of the oldest trees in Europe, the beaches of Fakistra and Milopotamos, and research the many hiking paths within the forest). Mount Olympus area---the hike along the Enipeas gorge (very beautiful with small waterfalls and crystal clear drinkable water)--hike starts from Litohoro town and you can go all the way up to the peak of the sacred mountain! ; the traditional village of Palaios Panteleimonas. Now, east of the Vikos area: look up the high-altitude village of Nymfaio and the Alpha Estate winery (voted as one of Europe's best); the Loutra Aridaia (or Pozar) hot springs where Alexander took his troops to heal--very beautiful forest/mountain area. Ahh, the MOON Shade, yes I am familiar with it. I follow "From She to Me", an older couple who van travel and they use the Moon Shade with their Sprinter, they really like it. Now, this hike, that was awesome and my joints are sympathizing with your pain. It's so worth though, isn't it!? I've only been through part of the Pindos mountain range and the Peloponnese range. I must get back and see more. Ches, you're going to have to start taking River out on those early morning potty breaks so you can see some wildlife like Ben. How cool to see a Lynx...and up close! And of course, you know that River is the star of this, on the road show....that funny clown! Take care you three.
The MoonShade is such a genius design! We absolutely love it 😍 The hike was 100% worth the pain but I’d probably make sure I was a bit fitter before attempting anything similar! Can’t believe Ben saw a lynx too! It’s like living with David Attenborough 😂

You choose the toughest dragon lake to hike! Next time try the one which is in Smolika’s mountain!!! Far easier ! But avoid the summit (which you can see it from the lake) as it takes 1,30 hour to get there! Also I should inform you that no one has seen a lynx for decades! You are doing a great work!!! Keep it up!!! Hope to enjoy every moment in planet earth!!!

Yes! Apparently they do an amazing job of defending the flock too. They’re such good boys 💛 Apart from barking at River, these dogs actually loved some treats and a pet from the passing hikers. Such sweethearts and it must be such a hard life for them. Crapped ourselves is an understatement 😂😳 xx
Yes guys ... it's hard to travel with food and a dog when there are stray dogs around. "Marquise" is cool, it is comfortable to sit under such a canopy. Good luck on your further journey.

The music playing on the bit of final ascent is so beautiful.. “perched behind a Christmas 🎄tree” 🤣.. I only walked around IKEA yesterday whilst pushing my father in a wheelchair and I’m knackered but that hike made me feel your pain.. 😂👍,.The views are unbelievable though such natural beauty! 😍. That Moon awning is such a great idea! That cat was so friendly and it so nice to give it a bit of dinner.. 👌👍. Thanks for the views.. I’ve added points to the map. See you next time.

Those magnets are tough, but might scratch the paint if you slide them when removing them - stick a beer mat under each one (or maybe just a bit of cloth) to protect the paint and just make it a lot easier to remove, without really reducing the magnetic attachment strength.

Guys i wanted to inform you that lynx dissapeared from Greece. There are some records of Lynx in the nearby countries like Albania and North Macedonia but no records for many decades in Greece sadly. Maybe you saw a wildcat (Felis silvestris). Next time you could go to Grammos where there are also dragon lakes! Have fun with your trip!

I have an awning which is meant to go on the side of my folding camper. It weighs about the same as my car. Consequently I refuse to bother with it. My daughter and her mum think I'm short-changing them on our holidays - but I don't see either of them volunteering to put it up. The MoonShade looked good - although I'm not sure how it would fare in strong winds: the nemesis of so many camping accessories. Good film, and good effort on the hike, you climbed a long way. It's nice country, reminded me of northern California.
Hahaha awning wars over at your place 😂 We forgot to show that the MoonShade comes with guy ropes - it’s been pretty windy where we’ve been editing and it hasn’t blown away yet. It’s such a simple but clever design - the kind of thing you wish you’d thought of! Very interesting that you said it reminded you of Northern California - because I’ve been thinking the exact same! I roadtripped there a few years ago and I’ve had a few moments where I’ve just been transported back there. It even smells like it! 🌲
I am hoping that you visit the Peloponnese peninsula where there are some unique landscapes and other sightseeing spots to see. For instance the area near Ancient Olympia and near Mani. But offers really beautiful places.

We did unfortunately! Well, we did go to Metsovo but the weather was so bad we had to keep driving. We'll 100% be back to this region, there is so much we didn't get chance to see!
People think that Greece is just warm weather, beautiful beaches and blue and white houses but actually the majority of Greece is this: high mountains with thick forests and a lot of snow
Such a nice video! Hiking Mt Timfi has been in my todo list for a couple of years, I hope I will have the chance to do it this spring maybe. Greece has a lot of beautiful mountains and each of them has its own character. Most of them arent that dog friendly, though. Most of the mountains during summertime are used as pastures for sheep and cow herds and floks. As you have seen already, the sheep dogs are really protective of their territory and when thry are in a herd of their own, they can get pretty aggresive. Having a dog on the trail with you can agitate them. Greek mountains have a variety of wildlife including brown bears, lynxes, wolves, wild boar and many more, so unfortunately a dog can make things tricky. I dont say leave your dog in the car, this is just a reminder that we always must be prepared and have some local knowledge on what we are up against.

Finally caught up with you and how! Never seen terrain so ruggedly, starkly, beautiful. Your hike was such a test, well passed, impressive, wild domestic flocks too! I know I'm going to have to get on other channels to see the full experience, got to extract my socks from the wall first. Those villages!
We'd never seen landscapes like that either Clive! It felt so wild and completely rugged. The sheepdogs were an entirely new and interesting experience 😂🙈

Hi guys! All the best for your continued journey. I can highly recommend some places, should your path happen to be compatible with visiting them: Pelion peninsula--beautiful forest-covered mountainous area with unique villages and wild beaches on east coast (definitely visit Tsagarada village with one of the oldest trees in Europe, the beaches of Fakistra and Milopotamos, and research the many hiking paths within the forest). Mount Olympus area---the hike along the Enipeas gorge (very beautiful with small waterfalls and crystal clear drinkable water)--hike starts from Litohoro town and you can go all the way up to the peak of the sacred mountain! ; the traditional village of Palaios Panteleimonas. Now, east of the Vikos area: look up the high-altitude village of Nymfaio and the Alpha Estate winery (voted as one of Europe's best); the Loutra Aridaia (or Pozar) hot springs where Alexander took his troops to heal--very beautiful forest/mountain area.

Yes I live in Volos the city in fromt of the pelion Peninsula. Guys you will be startruck if you go To pelion. There are so many things to see here! So beautiful and with a super cuisine! Please come here to Volos!
@@OverlandingSophia Pelion is one of the most beautiful mountains in Greece with exquisite beaches in the Aegean. Another place you'd like and it'd remind you of Switzerland would be lake Plastira (an artificial lake over the Karditsa region, a part of Pindos).

Ahh, the MOON Shade, yes I am familiar with it. I follow "From She to Me", an older couple who van travel and they use the Moon Shade with their Sprinter, they really like it. Now, this hike, that was awesome and my joints are sympathizing with your pain. It's so worth though, isn't it!? I've only been through part of the Pindos mountain range and the Peloponnese range. I must get back and see more. Ches, you're going to have to start taking River out on those early morning potty breaks so you can see some wildlife like Ben. How cool to see a Lynx...and up close! And of course, you know that River is the star of this, on the road show....that funny clown! Take care you three.
The MoonShade is such a genius design! We absolutely love it 😍 The hike was 100% worth the pain but I’d probably make sure I was a bit fitter before attempting anything similar! Can’t believe Ben saw a lynx too! It’s like living with David Attenborough 😂

One of the best hikes we’ve done! Couldn’t get over those mountains 🤩
The dogs are making sure your not wolfs or coyotes that eat the sheep. Lucky your dog is light enough to carry. Great exercise making that hike!
You choose the toughest dragon lake to hike! Next time try the one which is in Smolika’s mountain!!! Far easier ! But avoid the summit (which you can see it from the lake) as it takes 1,30 hour to get there!
Also I should inform you that no one has seen a lynx for decades!

Yes! Apparently they do an amazing job of defending the flock too. They’re such good boys 💛 Apart from barking at River, these dogs actually loved some treats and a pet from the passing hikers. Such sweethearts and it must be such a hard life for them. Crapped ourselves is an understatement 😂😳 xx
Yes guys ... it's hard to travel with food and a dog when there are stray dogs around. "Marquise" is cool, it is comfortable to sit under such a canopy. Good luck on your further journey.

Hey Guys, sorry I’m late, I’ve been mega busy at work! That alarm tone brings back memories, 😂😂, that night action must of been the Lynx effect 😂😂 sounds like a good advert.. this hills seem so steep! And wow those sheepdogs were a bit crazy. The music playing on the bit of final ascent is so beautiful.. “perched behind a Christmas 🎄tree” 🤣.. I only walked around IKEA yesterday whilst pushing my father in a wheelchair and I’m knackered but that hike made me feel your pain.. 😂👍,.The views are unbelievable though such natural beauty! 😍. That Moon awning is such a great idea! That cat was so friendly and it so nice to give it a bit of dinner.. 👌👍. Thanks for the views.. I’ve added points to the map. See you next time.

I hope they're okay, we had a horrible feeling it had been dumped there earlier that morning 😔 We can't save them all, but we can do our best when we're there. Those magnets are tough, but might scratch the paint if you slide them when removing them - stick a beer mat under each one (or maybe just a bit of cloth) to protect the paint and just make it a lot easier to remove, without really reducing the magnetic attachment strength.

Guys i wanted to inform you that lynx dissapeared from Greece. There are some records of Lynx in the nearby countries like Albania and North Macedonia but no records for many decades in Greece sadly. Maybe you saw a wildcat (Felis silvestris). Next time you could go to Grammos where there are also dragon lakes! Have fun with your trip!

I have an awning which is meant to go on the side of my folding camper. It weighs about the same as my car. Consequently I refuse to bother with it. My daughter and her mum think I'm short-changing them on our holidays - but I don't see either of them volunteering to put it up. The MoonShade looked good - although I'm not sure how it would fare in strong winds: the nemesis of so many camping accessories. Good film, and good effort on the hike, you climbed a long way. It's nice country, reminded me of northern California.
Hahaha awning wars over at your place 😂 We forgot to show that the MoonShade comes with guy ropes - it’s been pretty windy where we’ve been editing and it hasn’t blown away yet. It’s such a simple but clever design - the kind of thing you wish you’d thought of!
Very interesting that you said it reminded you of Northern California - because I’ve been thinking the exact same! I roadtripped there a few years ago and I’ve had a few moments where I’ve just been transported back there. It even smells like it! 🌲

I am hoping that you visit the Peloponnese peninsula where there are some unique landscapes and other sightseeing spots to see. For instance the area near Ancient Olympia and near Mani. But offers really beautiful places.

We did unfortunately! Well, we did go to Metsovo but the weather was so bad we had to keep driving. We'll 100% be back to this region, there is so much we didn't get chance to see!

People think that Greece is just warm weather, beautiful beaches and blue and white houses but actually the majority of Greece is this: high mountains with thick forests and a lot of snow

Such a nice video! Hiking Mt Timfi has been in my todo list for a couple of years, I hope I will have the chance to do it this spring maybe. Greece has a lot of beautiful mountains and each of them has its own character. Most of them arent that dog friendly, though. Most of the mountains during summertime are used as pastures for sheep and cow herds and floks. As you have seen already, the sheep dogs are really protective of their territory and when thry are in a herd of their own, they can get pretty aggresive. Having a dog on the trail with you can agitate them. Greek mountains have a variety of wildlife including brown bears, lynxes, wolves, wild boar and many more, so unfortunately a dog can make things tricky. I dont say leave your dog in the car, this is just a reminder that we always must be prepared and have some local knowledge on what we are up against.
