I was gonna buy a Barton shifter and you’re talking about it being notchy. Is the MGW a lot smoother and quiet? I really don’t want noise and rattling but a nice quiet smooth short throw shifter.
Comparing a top loader shifter to a remote shifter is like comparing disc brakes to drum brakes. Even an average top loader is going to feel better than the top remote shifter. Having said that, MGW makes top notch gear. So if you have a remote shifter, it's the best. But for a top loader, you'll find more options and a tighter grouping for performance. Several companies make great feeling and performing top loaders, MGW, Barton, Steeda, etc. what separates MGW for remote shifters is that it's basically building a house on stilts and MGW puts the material and components in place to do it right. Barton's remote is okay and better than OEM garbage. Top loaders are just better and easier to make (which is why they cost much less and there's more options)
@T P hi I currently have the Hurst billet shifter I think that's the model name, but I'm debating on getting the mgw shifter. Any thoughts or opinions,I have a 94 z28 manual m6 camaro
Thanx just got my mgw standard throw installed and it's amazing they offer two more each with even less range of throw.the standard is 15% less throw than stock at 3". If u r only gonna drag race ur car get the short throw but I think the regular one is perfect for street/strip
2016 Mustang GT MT-82..Does the Barton shifter sit lower (shifter arm in the car) than the MGW? I heard you say the MGW has adjustable height - just verifying. Im getting ready to pull the trigger on the MGW.
I did the Steeda insert and my car is vibrating like a mother!! I swear to God I am taking that thing back out.. No way am I dealing with that kind of vibration.... No way.. I don't know how PPL deal with trans mounted shifter's I would imagine that's worse. But I keep hearing from ppl how smooth they are IDK.. But I am not happy with that Steeda insert at all.. I also did the Steeda Body mount too. I am going to pull the insert and see if things calm down.. I never got lock out stock, so I never should have messed with it really...
Odd. Could be the install. There will probably always be at least a little NVH but you could also dynamat some parts to help. Def sounds like install, it shouldn't be that bad.
Why did you choose them McLeod clutch vs the Mantic.. I ask because I have a low mileage 2012 Boss and was considering a clutch upgrade to prolong the life of my transmission. I went with the Ford Racing shifter which is made by Barton.
I honestly would pic the Mantic if I could go back and do it all over again. I really wasn't aware of the Mantic when I installed the McLeod. I've had that clutch for a couple years almost.
The question was posed because I have a low mileage Boos and will supercharge it. I have upgraded the brakes the suspension and have installed a Fordracing shifter and driveshaft!! Barton Shifter in my Boss aka Ford Racing part. MGw yes in a T56 installed that in my GT 500 Shelby!! Different tranny in a Boss and yes bitches we are not talking about cross dressing !!! You have a cool car dude even though it is just a 5.0! Then again just,, Just cool Erik
MGW Race Spec all the way! I have it in my 2013 GT. For speed, hop a ride in a Tesla Dual Motor. It made my Mustang feel like something from the stone age. Quiet instantaneous massive torque all at once.
Thanks for the video and the info. Definitely was looking to upgrade my shifter, because the stock one was pissing me off.
My MGW for my 17 5.0 just got delivered and I'm at work watching these videos
Where did you purchase the shifter
Those facial expressions when stomping on it priceless lol, great vid! Subscribed!
WarMachine5.0 nah bro just being a dude enjoying your ride

I miss my 13 GT. I had the MGW with the same twin disc you have and man the driving experience was so good.
Thanks for the review. I have a hurst shifter and you need to be really precise with it to shift smooth.
I've never tried a Hurst. Although I do have a Hurst shift handle.

Getting a Barton for my ‘13 Shelby. Can’t wait for April. Both top end brands.
Crisp is a good descriptor for lettuce or an apple but I don’t know what you mean when you use it to describe shifter feel.
My stock shifter was also held on from factory with thin zipties

Nice. What transmission you running?
MGW FTW! 👍
Haha another fellow Gracie Barra mustang enthusiast hell yeah! :)
Will either the MGW or Barton shifter bracket get rid of my 3rd shift grind on my 2013 5.0? It's annoying the hell out of me. The 82 is trash stock
No it will not
Good to know . Will that MGW fit my 09 v6 mustang?
Recently found out my car has a Barton short throw shifter but I kinda want to go mgw
Just ordered the mgw shifter.
MGW is next on my list. What's the install like? Thanks!
Super Easy. Maybe 30 minutes...
Awesome!!! 🔥

I may be 4 years late but yes it sits lower i gotchu bro 😂
Not crazy about the mt82. That was the first thing to go. Replaced with the T56 magnum and no more problems
Couldn’t find MGW for Challenger so going with Barton.
Awesome car! I went with Barton just because I had a good deal on it. I payed $340
Michael Acuna how ?

Erik Ressdorf lol yeah I hear you. I'd like to put the MMR fully sleeved long block in it and upgrade to the new 2.65 tvs. It's never enough!!!!!
is there a huge difference between the stock magnum XL shifter and the MGW ? second question do yo have an Insta gram ?
Huge difference, yes. I do have Instagram but not sure what it is. lol
warmachinefive0
Thanks. I went with the MGW
Nice! Let me know how you like it.

hey Dana White... is that you ?! LOL
If only I had his money and not his bald head and fat body.
To bad they don't make mgw for challengers
Got to ask...how fast were you going in this video when you got on it????
Scott McCall - those are undercover/narc questions.

It's ok dude. It's ok for men to get wood every now and then. Maybe even more than that. Wood!!!
Kevin Gomez - your girl calls me Woody and said I give her a Buzz that’s light years away.
