I have just come across this channel and I really appreciate you for being so vocal and forthcoming as regards sharing your knowledge of the fashion skill sir.
I have a question but before that, permit me to divert a bit towards the following narrative.
I have been an apprentice for 9 months now and I must say, that my progress greatly saddens me when i think of it because I signed up to undertake my current apprenticeship with such high hopes. However, it all turned out to be a whole differently dramatic situation with the master who in truth, is not such a terrible person as it might seem to anyone seeing this that I am saying this with intent to tarnish his image, no. I like my master a lot but, he's not so forthcoming with information even when I ask questions so, in such a situation as mine, what can be done to help me build up faster because this is 9 months gone out of the 2 year contract I signed up for.

You're most welcome. Your case is a very common case when it comes to learning tailoring in an apprenticeship setting. My sister also enrolled in a place to learn tailoring and to her greatest shock and surprise, she met people there who had spent more than two years and nothing to show. Some bosses want to keep the apprentice working for them for a long time, so they intentionally withhold important information that'll make them learn fast while other bosses only focus on their work and don't create time to teach the students. Some bosses don't even have a structured curriculum to teach the students systematically. Thank God for technology and platforms like this that you can learn from. Just focus more on learning online and also invest in online classes in specific areas in tailoring you want to focus on. Once you gain more tailoring knowledge online, some of the things your boss does will now begin to make sense to you whether he chooses to explain them to you or not.

@@luyasi Good morning and thank you very much sir. Now, concerning the part about online classes, I'm interested and I don't know if you have any platforms or packages to address that issue.

You can use either cloth gum or hemming gum on the shirt front placket. I have an online class coming up where i go into details on those gums and how to use them.
