      Not only Home Liner, the 215 type trains are also used on Shonan Liner services on the Tokaido/Shonan Shinjuku Line and Wide View Yamanashi on the Chuo/Ome Lines.
      (The former Narita Express train on the left is used by JR East and Tobu for Nikko and Kinugawa express services, having replaced the 189 series fleet that once ran the line)

    Totally dig the variety and style of all the rolling stock.
    It's very modern and yet keeps the classic commuter-line look.
    Here in Germany they're trying too hard to let the commuter lines look like spaceships.

    railways in japan are about 100 years ahead of what we have in Australia but they still have train guards on the back,i was a guard here for 12 years and it was the best job i ever had. we were abolished due to financial reasons and "modernization" anyway its remarkable how much variety of different rolling stock appears here.....great film!!!.. marty

    • @billykitahama3514
      @billykitahama3514 9 лет назад +1

      I agree with you 100%, mate. "Modernisation" is, too often, just a code word for cost cutting. The staff and passengers just have to cop it sweet.There wouldn't be half the problems on public transport if there were still guards on trains and ticket collectors on trams, etc. I lived in Japan for a few years. I got used to trains being clean, safe, and on time. Coming back to Melbourne has left me pretty disillusioned with Australian public transport.

      louislungbubble Ich kann Sie sehr gut verstehen. Wir hier in Berlin haben fast nur noch Automaten und Kameras. Keine Schaffner, dafür Schläger die Personen die Treppe herunter stoßen oder in das Gleisbett stoßen, direkt vor die U-Bahn stoßen. Es hat sich in kurzer Zeit vieles verändert. Alles Gute für Sie.
      I can understand you very well. We here in Berlin almost have only machines and cameras. No scaffolding, but thugs pushing the people down the stairs or pushing into the trackbed, directly in front of the subway. A lot has changed in a short time. All the best for you.

    • @pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042
      @pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042 7 лет назад

      I don't think you can really time frame the difference in Australian public transport. Tokyo only has this much infrastructure because the city is huge and requires it. In Australia we don't need such long trains or amount of lines. (Though we are starting to). I hate to say this but the new Sydney metro in terms of everything but network size, will be the most advanced metro ever.

    • @UltimaSpark50
      @UltimaSpark50 Год назад

      @@pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042 We _really_ need high-speed rail along the Brisbane-Melbourne corridor (ie. the bulk of the population). At least Newcastle-Wollongong as a start.

      1027 kintetsu corporation 私は鉄道ファンではありませんのでマニアックなことは分かりません。ですが世間一般的に言うと阪急沿線は高級感があります。それに近鉄、阪神、南海は田舎郊外を走り貧乏感や汚ならしい感じもあります。人間味でも同じで阪急に乗る方は上品な方が非常に多く乗っていても安心感があります。その他の鉄道会社に乗る方は煩い人間ばかりのイメージですね。すみません京阪を忘れていましたがここが一番酷いです。

      OK! lets Go! これはあくまで僕の主観ですが、阪急は運転士さんや車掌さん、駅員さんなど会社の人たちは接客も丁寧で好感が持てる一方、特に十三あたりでは大きく脚を広げて座っている男性とかが多く客層がとても悪い印象があります
