See this is where in my mind it’s like Amanda fills the big sis role with her worldliness and wisdom. That makes her the friend in the group who gets dubbed “the mom”. since Amanda is awesome and an empath she takes that role in stride. I’ve totally been “the mom” of different
friend groups over the years. Kudos to Amanda for handling it so well. I’ve only just now realized that since I’m the youngest person at my work, I’m not “the mom” of my friends anymore. And it feels awesome! And it’s not because I stopped taking care of them. It’s because I found people who started taking good care of me back. So please everybody remember to take care of your mom friends!!

Game suggestion: Years ago on the Jenna and Julien podcast, they played a game called Nuclear Winter, where essentially the apocalypse is happening, you’re in a shelter, and you can only choose 10 out of 20 other people to be in the shelter with you. There are 20 cards with types of people (like “doctor” or “mechanic”) and 20 cards with attributes (like “who only speaks French” or “who has magical powers” etc) I feel like this would be hilarious for y’all to play! I used to play it all the time and we made up so many of our own cards. I’ll leave some of my favorites below because they still make me laugh:
