Had to deal with a Golf 5 just like yours with the same issue and everywhere I looked people were showing how to open it with the hook method or they had the door open already but thanks to you I finally opened the door. It never occurred to me to mess with the Unlock button on the key while trying to open it. Excellent video and explanation of what to do, thank you so much!
Amazing work ! I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do this on my Variant for quite some time now and could not find anything until i stumbled upon your video, you did amazing work explaining the whole procedure, would you be able to send me the manual too ? thanks in advance !
If you want to repair the broken one, try disassembly the bigger motor which is with the black cover and then clean up the commutator and carbon powder.
Nice, but the lock itself is mounted to plastic white with a rivet. How to remove it without damage and how to mount it again? The same with the lock wire
How have you managed to insert this white plastic pen back to the white one with the hole inside? I tried many times but the white circle was falling each time. Finally, I assembled the door without the white small pen. :-(
It worked on a Seat Altea XL 😅. Thank you! The door was stuck 2 months.
You're welcome!
thank you for the video it helped me a lot. This was the only video I found about replacing the rear lock on a golf 5 varian. Good job
You're welcome!😊

Hey thx for the nice feedback, the manual I have is really big, it's a virtual image, if you want a specific part I can send it to you 😊
Huge job, thanks for filming that.
Glad you enjoyed it

Good point, but it might also be multiple things, like weekend motor, or corroded wire, and it was so cheap I didn't care 😅

If you mean the small white tube for the window, then yes, it was tricky but a long nose pliers will do the job ;)
