@@tommyrq180 it was not a choice. There was no time for admin to decide anything. The players told to go to the dugout. They are not in frame of the video. It was an impromptu from the crowd. They probably just stayed where they were like everyone else and stood and sang. Since no date or time mentioned if it’s the soft game from years ago the protocol was to sign the first game of the championship and not the rest. Stupid protocol. Glad the crowd took care of it and stood and sang anyway. A tech issue the announcer could have started the crowd off. I know some shy and the words can be complicated to do all on your own but an oh say can you into the microphone would have been nice. The crowd would and did take care of the rest.

Who ever made the decision to not play the National Anthem needs to be FIRED.
After a short delay, the PA announcer said they were having technical issues and would skip the national anthem and go straight to the game. Well, some of the spectators weren't having it and starting singing the song themselves. Within seconds, the whole crowd was singing it in unison. 2015

The other team was also standing at attention; they did it in front of their dugout. The camera pans left and you can see them.
The issue wasn't political. The recording of the song could not be played because something broke. It happened at little league games when I was a kid.

That truly brought a tears to my eyes when I heard them all singing in unison. Even the thought of trying to remove the national anthem from America greatest past time is utterly preposterous. Props to the entire crowd and the team that went back out to sing along as well. 🥲
I am Canadian but it makes you proud to see the people stand up with their love and pride even in tough times. To the other team that didn't come back out to sing, I would have booed them.
