    I’m interested in the carriage which transferred the stitches automatically from the ribber to the main bed in one pass. Is it an accessory which is available separately? Thank you for such clear instructions, you are a talented teacher.

    Thank you. Do you have a formula how many stitches to pick up of the slanted sides to hang on the bed on either side of the 40 straight stitches to start the ribbing?

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  24 дня назад

      A formula that I use for necklines when I shape them, and I guess that could work in this case as well, is to cast off half of the total number of stitches and decrease the other half on both sides. So if my neckline is 60 stitches I will cast off 30 in the middle ( and in this instance that means those needles we leave on hold at the very beginning) and decrease the other half which will be 15 on either side of the neckline ( so in this instance those are the needles we bring on hold one at a time) .
      You’ll have to test and see what works best.🤗 hope this makes sense and helps you. 🤗

    Hi, why do you bind off the first time around the gate pegs and the second time with the latchtool?
    It is beautiful, thank you 😊

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! 😊
      oh, good question 😄 and now that you asked, I am thinking that I could have done both with the latch tool. 🤔
      The reason I did it like that is because I prefer the look of the latch tool cast off (you get a nice chain stitch on the edge). And since you can see the the bind off edge of the rib I choose that.
      And I just did a normal ,around the peg, cast off for the the edges that will be hidden in the shoulder seam.
      🤗😊

    DO you cover how to decrease when doing fair isle design?

    • @Knitology1x1

      I have a tutorial showing how to do a round neckline when doing fair isle, so I guess that counts as that. That video is only available on patreon 🤗

    Thank you very much for this video. When you knit a neckband with holding more than one needle, how do you knit this? If the instructions says to knit more rows without straight away without needle holding, how do you knit your neckband? Thank you for your time to answer my questions.

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  24 дня назад

      Thanks for watching ♥️ I think it would work in the same way 🤔 you’ll have to try and see though testing is always so important!

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  24 дня назад

      Also you don’t want to knit more than , let’s say, 4 rows after putting more needles on hold as that would create a bigger hole. You can put as many needles on hold but the number of rows you knit ideally would be 2 for neatest results 🤗
      Hope this helps!

    If I want a full needle rib at the neckline, how would you approach that?
    Thank you so much for all your helpful videos, your clear straightforward way of working is really helping me mastering the KM!

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  6 месяцев назад

      I am a bit late with the response here 🫣 to go into a full needle rib, I would probably transfer like here to have a 1x1 rib knit just one row and then grab the purl bar from the stitches to form new stitches on all needles for the next row 🤔 this should work in theory, but it might not look great so you just have to try and see. I am sure there is a way to do it neatly 😊

    I’m trying to use this method. I’m knitting fair isle so there are two strands of yarn to go over the needle to decrease. But my machine won’t knit the pattern after that :( it doesn’t count rows too. Do I need to slide carriage all the way to the left to pass the cam?

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  Год назад

      oh I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty :( it is very difficult for me to helps or advice without seeing what the issue is exactly... but I think you should be able to knit short-rows when doing fair-isle.
      Maybe practice the technique first on plain knit to see how it goes and then try the fair isle...sorry I cannot help more; good luck and let me know how it went.

    Hi, I wanted to know how I can stop the side edges from curling

    • @Knitology1x1
      @Knitology1x1  2 года назад

      There are a few ways to stop edges from curling; you can add a bit of rib 1x1 or full needle, or half-milano edge. If you have single bed it is a bit more difficult.
      It really depends on what you want to do with the sample. If you are making a garment you don't need to worry about the side edges as they are usually sewn together and that stops the curling from happening.
      I hope this helps 🤗🤗
