Another great session Will! Next should be chatter baits vs spinner baits. I have always looked for good contrast and patterns over colour. Most fishing don't see colour very well all at, not like we do at least. Their eyes are great at contrast/silhouettes and picking up light aka scale flash. But at the end of the day.. no wobble no gobble 🤣 it's all in the action as you pointed out.
Nice one Will, some good bass there! How about a bass Lure & Fly challenge? As in, I'll try to show you how to catch them on fly and you can show me how to lure fish for them? ;)
@@wellplayedfishing7809 I love fishing for carp on the plastics But yeah to get one topwater would be awesome I have been hit on jitterbugs by carp but they rarely grab the hook
When choosing a color for a bait for me it's black or white fish don't see color like we do they lack the blue cones. So action and size/profile is more important to me and for size a longer bait doesn't always mean a bigger bait a taller bait from top to bottom is a bigger bait a small Bass can eat a long skinny bait like a 12" worm or a long jerk bait.
Great video as always, thanks for showing us the way you rig them up, im thinking of taking my lad on the Patterson tomorrow or Monday on the yaks, we have those frogs but are yet to use them. Do you think the bass will still be there or have we missed the boat so to speak? Cheers 👍
Great video - quick question what type of leader do you use for these? I have been using fluorocarbon but it seems to make the lure sink a little and it then takes ages for the lure to pop out of the water and buzz along the top. Thanks
@ oh yeah sorry mate! I just commented on the start of vid, once I saw the full vid I realised! I just bought the mud minnow colour and I’m hoping to hook up to a few in a river and hour or so from where I live!
people who have been catching bass for a few more years than you, head into Motackle Coffs Harbour and ask a couple of tournament fisho's that's how they are measured, strange I know but that's just how it is😁@@wellplayedfishing7809
Fantastic video mate, going to try these on some NT Jacks
Awesome video man was very cool too see the frogs do so well out tocal
Love too see a jewfish challenge plastics vibes that sort of thing!

Yes I like the chatter vs spinner bait one! Yes 100% agree
Awesome challenge and video mate. Pretty cool footage you caught at the end of those bass right up there just hunting like crazy.
That was an awesome video mate! That drain cast and fish was epic!!!!! Frothing 🤙🤙
Another great educational video will.... Keep up the great work 👍
Hey mate first video of yours I've watched and considering you seem pretty local I'm gonna be watching a heap more, love your content!
Appreciate it mate! New video out every second Wednesday 👌🏽
Hey Will thanx for showing how you rig those frogs, I 've been making a mess of them with superglue.
I fished the Paterson river the other day and got 12 bass but you have to get there at like 530 am cause the fish shut off at like 11

Sounds like a great deal! Would love to get one on fly
@@wellplayedfishing7809 cool mate! Are you on Insta? I’ll DM you. Should be fun!
loved this, will be trying for some perch (redfin?) on these over here in the uk!
Nice ... thanks for sharing Will 👍
Thanks for watching!
Great challenge bro way to get it done 👍🏼💪🎣
Would have been awesome if you got that carp on the surface, was just attempting that the other day
I ended up getting quite a few carp that session but with unweighted grub plastics. They were eating the caterpillars falling out of the trees

Crazy lure challenge maybe like a turtle, spider, snake or something like that
I like it 🤔
Definitely a spider challenge of some kind 👍🏼
That was lure they just didn't seem keen on for me

Would you use a loop knot on this or a uni knot or use a snap swivel
You can use either a loop knot or a uni. I wouldn’t use a snap swivel as it would probably make the frog sink
Spooked one in the snag 6.13min?
Didn’t notice that! 😳
i'm just getting into bass fishing and wondering what do the glow beads on the hook do?
never mind i didn't watch the full video 😅
ay i would like to know i live in the hunter and havent been bass fishing for a while i was wondering if u know how the bass are in the hunter river
They are definitely around but moving downstream to breed now so you will probably find more around morpeth and Raymond terrrace shortly
@@wellplayedfishing7809 yeah i need to get out and go down around there soon but im going up to nowendoc soon
What size and brand hook do you like to use for these finesse frogs?
Size 1/0 in gamakatsu
@@wellplayedfishing7809 right on just bought a shit load of zman stuff excited to try it out
3/0 wide gap hooks work best for these frogs
What colour is best for em?
They all work

What were those beads you used called? Plastic? Size?
they are just lumo beads and were one of the smallest ones you can buy
Tried Tocal - Paterson last week, bugger all bass
No good mate! This was around tocal probably two weeks ago now
What river you fishing
Paterson 👌🏽
You should cut the handle down so you can cast more freely.
What river are you fishing matey also wondering what leader are you running ?
Hey mate this is the Paterson river at tocal and the leader from memory was 8lb
Yeah nice bro you run mono or fluro somewhere I heard that using these frog's the fluro sinks them is that true ?
you do know bass are measured to the fork not the end of the tail🤔
Says who?

Use a brick as a lure? That’d be a challenge
That would be something 😆
This is a weightless texas rigged frog?
