I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan ruclips.net/user/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!
This is exactly what I have been looking for last few days. I am very interested in woodworking and had actually taken a class about it in high school. So far only thing I have done was a hardwood cutting board which I cut from a piece of log using a chain saw. I didn't have any other tools at the time so I hand sanded it. Took a while but I have been using it for last 3 years. Now I have a power drill and a circular saw and wanted to make something a bit more interesting. A smaller version of this table will be a great start. Thanks!
Is not limited tools.. is limited "clickbait title" tools. I've paused the video at 1:56 when i saw that "marketing" shit on the screen...then i've wrote this comment.. and left this channel for good.
For a maker, the tools he used were fairly basic and common. If you’re a beginner or not a woodworker at all, I can see how you may look at it differently though...
@@gattonpc he's got a small business and he's plugging his own brand in his video tutorial...what's wrong with that? When you watch Lowe's home improvement vids, do you complain about the branding
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "make own furniture" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Venoffison Wooden Exploration - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my co-worker got amazing results with it.
exactly. This garbage wastes people's time, but these jerks could not give a f.ck because they will collect a few bimbos along the way. It is a great shame they flood youtube and stop people from seeing anything worthwhile
I think using the caul boards the way he did works but there is a better way. Usually over that distance and that grain direction the caul boards will bend, ultimately not keeping your table completely flat. Flip those boards on the edge grain, give them maybe a 2degree cut from each end meeting in the middle, this will account for any bend. This is how you get a really flat table top without having to use a planer. Other option of course is to just take that table top to a commercial planer somewhere.
Yes, he definitely should have. Otherwise this table top will be likely to crack/split down the road when expansion/contraction happens. Sweet build though and I always learn something from watching other woodworkers. I built a 40-42” wide solid red oak table top w/ breadboard ends (w/ elongated dowel holes) and it contracted about 1/8” on both sides (1/4” total) - even after the wood had been air dried for 2 years. Fortunately because I elongated the holes there has been no cracking/splitting/separating of the top.
Did you need to add any additional support to the centre of the table considering it was so long? Also what would be the maximum length of a table top before it needs additional support in the centre of the wood?
Nice table but I do have one concern. Do those legs allow for wood movement. If not, this table(may take years) will split if the wood is not allowed to expand and contract seasonally. If use use screws smaller than the holes with large flat washers in the legs, this should do the trick. Keep up the good work.
When you started doing wood working did you already have most of your tools? Did you buy them online, Craigslist, store? Were they given to you? Are there any tips you can give on specific power tools that you wish you knew before hand?
Just double tap to fast fwd. Quit complaining. He's fast and efficient. I'd rather see ads that make him money than listen to some random rant that doesn't help me build the table.

@@dinkles_woodshop that's why I was curious. Especially with oak its going to move and warp those legs. I personally love the look of breadboard ends and I add them to most of my table tops for looks and functionality. I do wonder how he amassed such a huge following with his limited knowledge?
Morning Brian. More clamps in the gluing process mate, alternating top and bottom will help with that issue. If you’re VERY serious alternating grain pattern with bread board ends will remove the cupping also.cheers

Very nice table. I feel like I'm watching a Jim Carrey movie where the actor looks into the camera every 2 minutes to advertise something. This guy must be killing it with sponsors.
He didn't use enough caul boards, even more importantly, he failed to alternate the grain direction of the boards in the tabletop, this will cause further cupping and warping down the line.
@@com38ful Additionally, to prevent future cupping, you can add C-channel underneath. The holes in the legs and the C-Channel should be slotted to allow seasonal movement, otherwise the top may bow or split with changes in humidity. One last comment, I would use a clamp every two feet or so, alternating top and bottom while gluing up. Two is not enough.

Congrats on launching your brand, it's pretty cool to see how excited you are about that; it's not every day that someone realizes a dream like that, so it's understandable that you'd want to plug it. The table turned out nicely, and the finish looks really nice.
Trivina Negzerial, Sanding it flat would be really difficult. If you don’t have the tools to rip the edge flat you will probably want to find a sawmill or Hardwoods seller to help you out. Having a nice square, straight edge really helps with the final product. Keep in mind all you need is a circular saw and a straight board (like a straight piece of MDF) to make a straight rip. You might be able to find those things used.
I appreciate a build that doesn't require expensive tools.

Limited tools as in basic woodworking tools, limited has changed a lot as the other comment said.

Don't think the angle or background help. Plus the change of colour in the wood probably makes it look worse

Use clamps to pull the joints together and you want have as many gaps. Bit more glue to clean up though.
