When my kiddos were quite small, 2 and 4, we had maintenance going on at a nearby school. We spent an hour watching a helicopter lift air conditioning equipment up to the roof!
Love this! We had an excavator out to our previous house for some work and my kids just sat in yard chairs and watched. We’ve also sat and watched a combine work in the field across the road from that house. Learning is everywhere!
Your hair is so pretty. If you live in an area where the nights are still cool, backyard camping with one or two other families is great fun. If you don't own a tent, maybe you can borrow one. You can even run extension cords for fans to put inside the tents if needed. We went to our local fire station when my kids were little as a field trip for a tour. The kids were allowed to sit in the trucks and were given little hats. Spending the day at a local beach or lake. It's all about making happy memories, enjoying life and being grateful.
For folks with older kids, plan one day a week when they cook dinner and clean up. Have them hunt for recipes and shop. So many lessons there. Maybe they want to try something meatless or with a strange ingredient, like papaya. If so, have them tell you why, where papaya comes from, why meatless meals are good for the planet, or not. Also, have a monthly photo contest. Have everyone take a picture a day and then judge them at the end of the month. Maybe you can use some for a family calendar next year or Christmas cards. We were amazed at what our 6 year old grandchild knows how to do with his “camera”. This idea came from you tube channel This is our Retirement by the way. Carole
I own a pool and yes I don’t mind family and friends to come and enjoy. But if you use the pool giving a few dollars every once in a while would help them with the up keep. ❤
Definitely wanting to do more stuff this summer!! Heard of a new park to try recently! Also hoping to catch some movies in the park too! Also hoping to go to the Gem theater, not free but they have a TON of $2 movies this summer for kids and it’s been newly renovated! Also, always happy to share the pool especially when it means quality time together 😉
We have called them car shows most places I have lived, but yes, they are fun.Carole

Thank you for the compliment and for sharing your ideas! Yes- making memories, enjoying life, and being grateful! Amen!
Great video, Kelly! We have a park that offers concerts on Sunday nights in the summertime. It’s such a fun thing to do with friends and family.
That sounds lovely Annie!

Can’t wait to come to the pool and have some quality time! I want to try going to the Gem too. I have actually never been to a movie there!
