I find it hilarious how True Geordie has spent years hating on Man City for sportswashing (and rightfully so) but is fuming now that there are rules being brought in to stop the Saudis doing the same with his beloved Newcastle. Can't have it both ways mate.
it’s the fact that the rules were brought in specifically to stop newcastle’s owners doing what city had done - there had been no attempt to monitor or prevent city’s spending before that. it reeks of protecting the established clubs and stopping competition
@@thewalkingpotofjamthe rules were brought in 2012 to stop city mate.
@thewalkingpotofjam So what? Why would we want another Man City? And City have been charged, we just need them to be punished which Geordie ironically probably doesn't want now because he knows it'll stop Newcastle
Yep he has completely changed his views just because Newcastle have been bought.
Newcastle havent broke the rules though even though they have had the resources to do so for 3 seasons nearly. there`s nothing hilarious about it
The greedy premier league let the wolves into the hen house two decades ago.
Come on mate Wolverhampton Wanderers are innocent bystanders here don't drag them into this
@@augment999 He wasn't talking about Wolverhampton Wanderers mate, he meant that the Greed Premier League allowed Chelsea, Manchester City and other clubs to get taken over by billionaires owners over 20 years ago. Even clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal all have Billionaire owners or billionaire shareholders. That's what he's referring to
@@princegeorge13 Man United and Liverpool are undoubtedly the biggest and most successful clubs in England. They may have billionaire owners, but United especially have not gotten a penny for almost 20 years from the Glazers. United are not meant to be in that list of clubs you mentioned.
@@benjaminngopwaamos6878they are, just cause u did before 2005 dont mean its ok
No shirt sherlock, but you can't make rules until something goes wrong. Do you think speed humps were invented before the car? Why wasn't nord van or whoever these guys are always promoting come out before the Internet. Pool rules... unless you have brilliant foresight, you come up with rules once you recognise a problem, that's how things evolve
The fact that he thinks the Saudis bought Newcastle ‘to have fun’ is actually painfully laughable.
Cry more🤣🤣......
@jackzeldon2883 when you kids say that, it hold more water when you don't use your mums broadband
wdym i haven’t really looked into it but i always thought buying newcastle and making them an elite european team was just a flex of wealth and power for the saudis more than anything
@@dripsensei_6639 it’s purely sports washing, not about having fun. It’s about using a British institution to try and rehab an image of a brutal authoritarian country. @@CH-vh1sw then took him out in a suitcase
These guys are actually clueless. City aren't counter suing they are challenging the league on the new APT rules and saying the league can't legally enforce that rule on the league as its against competition laws in uk. Mind you uefa have a sponsorship law aswell but the one the epl have announced are targeted towards City and Newcastle hence why City has challenged them. Furthermore the outcome of City challenging the rules aren't gonna affect the 115 because this new rule was never in place when the 115 charges happened.
Almost everyone I've heard talking about this subject is clueless unfortunately.
@@eoslovestithonusthey care about clicks more than facts sadly
They're charged with inflating sponsorships and they're suing about a rule that stops you inflating sponsorships. That might not be the exact rule they broke but if you think they're not trying to at least set a legal precedent here then you're plainly deluded.
@@Stegibbon Uefa have had this rule in for years well before the prem, City not sueing Uefa as Uefa rule is fairer to everyone. Also you read need to read the charges before commenting
@Stegibbon dumbass there's no legal precedent to set when that rule was never in place when the 115 happened. There's zero correlation between the 115 and the City challenging the league on the sponsorship rules because if City win the case the rule will be amended it not go away
The arsenal fan literally just makes things up. Wolves brought var and nearly got it overturned? Dude the vote was 19 to 1 🤣

This men spent 90% of season saying city and pep would fail this season and yet here we are
Look at City combined 11 with every red title challengers in the 6/7 years. They dominate it with their players and overhype in the media only to always fail
CLEARLY Nobody Has Read The CAS Ruling 🙄
Everyone just ignores the bits they don't want to hear. No-one mentions that CAS already ruled that City didn't inflate sponsorship, but instead just focus on the time-barred charges that weren't even heard....as if City got away with it (spoiler, City would have been cleared of those too)
People say city got off on a technicality with the time barred stuff (like Simon Jordan). What these people don’t realise is that city don’t even have to answer charges that are legitimate. It’s not as if they wriggled out, they didn’t even have a case to answer.
Utd -Liverpool- arsenal are no longer guaranteed a top four place and all the champions league money. They have to try and put things back to how they used to be.
Stupid convo. None of them even seem to understand the rule or what city are suing for.
We do have a competitive league, though: 5 teams have won the title in the past 12 years. In the first 12 years only 3 teams won, with Utd getting 8 titles. It was largely a Utd/Arsenal duopoly until Chelsea arrived. PL income is higher than ever now and the game is more popular than ever. FFP is simply shooting ourselves in the foot against other leagues- let Newcastle, Villa, Everton, etc. spend what they like and have the best league in the world.
Utd had a youth team and transferred to professionalism sooner.
Arsenal did it cheaply and were professional with Wenger, nutrition etc.
Chelsea... money.
This is why you should research the topic you are about to talk about on a podcast
You guys need to educate yourselves. The rules being challenged didn't exist during the period of time the 115 charges cover.
Why let Facts interfere w/ a good Cry🤣🤣🤣

anybody can press any amounts of legal charges they want against anyone it doesn’t mean anything, Arteta could press 115 charges against Arsenal tomorrow but non of them could be valid
Correction. The emails can be used as evidence despite them being hacked. No time bar either. It’s not a court but charges of breaking Premier League rules governed by the Premier League.
This chat literally proves that no matter what people say, all of their opinions on situations depend on if they benefit from it. If Newcastle hadn’t been taken over there is no way TG would have this opinion.
If you're a Brentford or Crystal palace...you can have concerns about not being able to spend to compete. If you're ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal et al....youve got enough money to keep your best players and sign lots more. The title races have been close quite often, Pep is just a generational manager, like Fergie and City are well managed by top businessmen n football people
well teams can do what chelsea is doing. stock pile on young talents to sell for double in the future to balance the books and keep sogning big names
The system can only be fixed by putting a cap on the price of players. With all the stats that we see on a game to game basis, there should be some sort of algorithm were players last 3 seasons are taken into account(personal stats, cups won, personal achievements, leagues played in,ect ect) there should be a max cost of a player that has “potential” and ball park figures for players who’ve done “x” and no player stocks be above 80 mil unless you’ve won a champions league and a couple league in your 3 seasons… this would solve all problems in football.
I am sorry lad's but you are talking bollocks

FFP or PSR does make sense as now we’re watching chelsea, united etc all have to sell players and actually try and spend money better than what they have been doing. And now they’re both dropping out of Europe and the top 4 is more competitive than ever
Shouldn't 'sustainability' have something to do with managing the debts to the point where they're paid off? Should there be another Covid (or something with a similar impact) - based on the status as it is now the likes of Man U, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool could just get more loaded with debt, yet still be in line with PSR! The system is mad!
Brian is too attached to his own self interests to see what is right. The rules are there so if your sugardaddy decides to leave you and pulls his money out, that your club then doesn't go bankrupt. That is the only reason the rules are there. Spend what you actually have
City recent domination is due to Pep not who our sponsorship is done by. After Pep the league will become more competitive. As it was before Pep
FFP rules are pure BS. Either implement a salary cap that is consistent across the board like the NBA or let clubs do whatever they want even if it means "twisting" the FA rules. Otherwise it's just about the "traditional" top 4 of Manchester United, Liverpoil, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The issue with a salary cap is that unlike the NBA the premier league isn’t a closed league.Players will just go where they are paid more
if you have read the charges pl no chance city fighting for all small clubs dreams
I’m liking true geordies energy this episode
so brians point is basically like saying he would allow the use of ped's by rich unfit people so they can win a gold medal like usain bolt rather than stop the use of that drug
They have no idea what the lawsuit is actually about. Geordie needs a new crew. Keep the tottenham fan. The rest are not good.
This is not about teams have a rich owner, its about an owner committing money laundering by over inflating a sponsorship deal. This is why everyone is selling their academy kids. The problem is someone like City could claim their sponsor is worth 5 Billion quid a season and never have to worry about FFP or whatever it is called now again.

@jackzeldon2883 it's got bugger all to do with race and everything to do with stopping 1 or 2 clubs cooking the books. That is what it will.turn into. Geordie even said it himself, he wants city to win the case and then Newcastle can spend whatever they want by having their bosses company sponsor the ground, shirts and anything else by massively over paying. City have brought this now to deflect, and funnily enough, could have to rebuild their squad in the next 12.months with a number of their players looking to leave. How many of that squad will stay if Coty get dumped to the Championship or worse?
Why does no one ever mention that uefa rules are more stringent, meaning that our rules become irrelevant if you want to be eligible for European football?
Or am i missing something?
If you guys aren't there is something called Related party transacrion. If they are not a "arms length price" (price of transaction to outsiders). They need to be reported and the auditors can qualify the financial statements.

You can see that clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Brentford are not moaning about this bullshit, because they have build their squad fairly & cheaply.
'Waah waaah they can get top four but can go no further"
What, because their club doesn't generate enough revenue to sustain that spending?
These people had ZERO issues when Arsenal were having to sell our best players (to Man City) year after year to help fund our new stadium. We didn't skip a step to becoming this massive footballing entity. Now all I'm hearing from Newcastle and Villa fans is they want to skip these steps.
The rules were in place to ensure every club would have a lot of homegrown talent.
If you look at the top clubs in the league each one maybe has 3-5 brilliant homegrown players and the rest are further down the table.
Please give them a monster pay deductions as that will be Leicester and Man City down.
And as an Ipswich fan it gives us a great opportunity to stay up.
The idea behind legislation is sound but the application has been rushed and isn't right. In the past, going back to the 90s for example, we didn't have state owned clubs or owners so rich they could buy an entire state. We had to adapt to these changes and that's a fact. Is it a bit unfair in some instances yes but it would also be unfair to allow these mega owners to run rampant and make a joke out of the league.
Jacob spot on with this. Keep everyone focused on the main issue at hand. City must be punished for this
10:30 the point proven. If city actually get away with this is teams like Newcastle and Everton can follow in the corruption is bonkers
Clueless ... this has nothing to do with 115
Can anyone throw any light on the State owned Saudi Telecom funding Man Utd?
I feel like a point is being missed here. Putting aside the flaws in FFP, which indeed was conceived to protect the cartels, framing the conversation purely on how X or Y now don't have a hope because they won't get bought out by a Gulf state rather validates the need for proper financial regulation. FFP/PSR may be clumsy and need reform, but it's the fact that people view the chances of success as inextricably linked billionaire benefactors that proves financial regulation is necessary. It may be an ugly process, but it *is* necessary, even if it takes a while to take hold.
You guys just scared that Mac city will win it again×5 don't worry this case will take years to finish just accept it that your team will always fight for top4 hold that Arsenal, man united,Liverpool fun
The Premier League also included within the new rules that you can’t do business with your associated clubs - Another discrimination against City and similar clubs.
To call that discrimination is to actively cheapen other matters of real discrimination. This has nothing to do with discriminating against people from other parts of the world, this is about protecting the integrity of the game by stamping out /corruption/.
Imagine that, buying Mbappe for 200mil for a club in an unknown league then sell him for 1mil to the parent club.
So you are supporting record club transfers like Savio going to troyes and Nuamah going to Molenbeek. And then those players never playing a minute for these clubs? Molenbeek spent 25 million euro just to loan that player straight to Lyon. It's fucking bullshit.
@@R.MousasiNo 1 is doing that right now
Fantastic, multi-club ownership is a plague
It kind of infuriates me football pundits talking about commercial law with no understand of it. Allow me to explain. The premier league creates its own form of contract that governs competition. They made these FFP rules. If the premier league hadn’t done that and football clubs ran like any other business, one large company could give money to another one of its affiliated companies via a company loan. The giving company can tell its shareholders it’s a good investment because it will earn a good return on that investment (interest) and the receiving company is honest with its shareholders that it received loan funds from an investor which are not genuine profits but it will use that money to invest in players and return the loan and more profits. That’s standard business. But because of FFP Manchester City decided to try and go around this by faking genuine investment in the form of advertising. The premier league found this out but it’s bigger than the premier league, this is a crime which can result in jail time, separate to anything to do with the premier league. The giving company lies to its shareholders that advertising funds were for genuine advertising. The receiving company lied to shareholders that the incoming money was genuine revenue when it wasn’t. Man City also cannot justify this hence why they know they will lose. Genuine investment of such a large number is managed by a team, that team looks at all available options at the time and makes a decision that makes sense for an outcome, increasing revenue. Man City at the time makes absolutely no sense as an investment when viewed at non arms length, they were the size of Millwall. The amount charged and paid made no sense and remember the prem can see sponsorship deals city had before and at the same time. No haggling or negotiating, the investor also having no track record of alternative investment strategies. City are fkd. Relegation is the least of their problems tbh.

It’s stupid if Nike want to give 100 million to Burnley for example a year then that’s what they value it. If Man City’s sponsors are owned by their owners it’s not properly valued. Would they have sponsored another team for taht much money? No
Half the companies that sponsored them didn't exist prior to sponsoring city and had no staff ,no offices and did nothing lol they we just p.o boxes and then city also allegedly pumped money into other sponsors to inflate sponsorship and paid under the table secret payments to players ,agents and coaching staff to entice them
To get the PL more fair, what about a London tax, an heritage tax etc. Not sure Assna and Manu would like that 😂
Who are assna and manu ?
What if the billionaire owners and there businesses go bust?
You have to think about your clubs sustainability and not be selfish by looking at this from just now, these clubs have stood the test of time with rich history. Owners can run clubs into the ground and mind you most of these owners are not even English they do not have the emotional connection the fans have. Think about how many clubs out there have just gone down the pyramid because of poor ownership after miss management
Brian at the 22.30 mark: Newcastle cant win by merit or compete through merit so let us cheat. There it is.
If this rules changed a smaller pl league team will never her above 10th ever again
On FFP or financial balance I could only argue term of 3 years is not enough. Maybe it should be 4-5 years. It seem like it takes at least 2-3 years to build a team and only in 3rd, 4th year teams will be able to get finanacial benefits of competing in higher level.
The best way to sort psr/ffp out is to let every club spend the same amount of money as the highest grossing team that season, i.e., city, I.e. 400-500 million so ever club can spend the same amount of money if owners don't have that money to spend then so be it its better being able to have the chance to spend money than having your hands tied and not being able to spend money
Utd, Liverpool and arsenal don't want Newcastle City and villa, Chelsea to be able to spend money, it's because then they would have to spend to compete, that's means they can't take money out, city have never taken a penny out of football
As an Arsenal fan i think any owner should be able to put money into a club with a cap on the amount they can per season, as long as they club remains protected from any chance of going bankrupt. I would suggest 100m per season.
EPL already made Antony 90M player and IF City wins then what next? 150M for Antony like players?
Its not looking good brev
Liverpool arsenal manchester united all have history and a fan base which is why they have money. They built brands. If newcastle everton etc now magically have budgets of 400m a season all that will happen is player prices rise wages rise and they will end up back at square 1

How is the premier league dying? Look at the viewership numbers. More people are watching the premiere league then ever before. The facts and stats reflect that.
They’re using this case to slow down the November case?😂
You do realise that the case will last no longer than 2 weeks. Furthermore, Pannick KC is also part of the legal team for City on THIS latest case, whilst heading the 115 team. Why spread him thin when the PL have big hitting KC’s they’ve brought in if they want to “slow down” the November case? Again…the guy in the grey sweatshirt makes himself look a right tool.
As for the United fan. 🤣🤣🤣
People crying about a guy called True GEORDIE talking about Newcastle (his team) on his podcast is mental. That's like saying why does AFTV talk constantly about Arsenal or Goldbridge about United 😂
Geordie "How can Newcastle cheat" end.
Their reaction points to two things potentially. 1) They believe the inquiry is going towards finding them guilty and 2) They also believe the PL is looking to actually punish them beyond a slap on the wrist.
People are underestimating the will of the 4 American-owned clubs. At some point they will propose a breakaway league or ask that city get expelled and they will have grounds. Unlike the super league. These new rules, like it or not, will remain and if you don’t like it you don’t have to participate in the league.
People like Brian are the reason this problem exists. All thinking all how it can impact HIM with the health of the competition way way back in his mind that he'll only think about after the damage is done.
True geordie seriously cant be going after city since his team was essentially setting themselves up to do the same thing. He also loves mentioning man uniteds spend when we actully earn our money from the fans.
