X570 gives you more voltages to play with. Typically, X570 has a better VRM. Not all the time and not in the case of Aorus Elite... ASRock BIOS is a bit strange. Not all the values you lock in end up working. Look for the notes in a BIOS version. It needs to have AGESA v2 1.0.8.x microcode to support 5000. hey george ... i am using my 2700x on the AEW x570 with bios F21 stable ... PBO on and my max power usage on the cpu is 185w during Cinabench R20 3 consecutive runs ... i feel like you dont need to manually overclock with these boards as they give the cpu great overhead to PBO itself as much as it can ( volts will be higher and more stable ) ... that how my 2700x runs R20 at 4.0-4.1ghz while doing 4.15 - 4.26ghz in gaming sessions ... and yes ram overclocking really matter with ryzen cpus ... 3200 cl14 1.4v was the result for me
Hey bud, I agree and should have got in touch with you. Gotta reinstall WhatsApp these days (lost my old phone). PB and PBO are great. Absolutely. Other boards did overclock the CPU manually. So, I thought I would make a joke about it. Zen+ can take 3400 on some sticks I've noticed.

Hi George My name is Brian I am requesting your knowledge and recommendations on buying a x570 PC motherboard please? What’s the best brand and value? AORUS Master X570, MSI Meg Ace X570 I have purchased a Corsair 1000D PC case. I am interested in building a water cooled gaming PC. This is my first computer build. I was think about buying the AMD-Ryzen 9 3900X Matisse 3.8 GHz 12 Core AM4 Boxed Processor with Wraith Prism Cooler. What are your thoughts? Please help? Thank You, Brian
Hey Brian! Here we go. It's a long reply cuz I care. MSI Meg Ace X570 has a debug LED and Clear CMOS button on the back (useful when you overclock). It also has Bluetooth and wifi which is helpful if you have wireless controllers or headphones. Both of the boards you looking at are more of "eye candy" with tons of features that you may or may not use. In this video, I made sure to focus on VRM and power delivery first then features and design. You can save by going with ASUS GIGABYTE or ASROCK board mentioned. Yet, your selection is really awesome and you can't go wrong with one of these premium boards. In a week new generation of AMD CPUs should go on sale. So, I would wait if you looking to buy 12 core CPU. The main question is if you need 12 cores. In the very recent video on this channel, I've touched on that. In case you change your mind and decide to go with RYZEN 5. Here are my thoughts. RYZEN 5 3600 is $200 RYZEN 5 5600X is $300. The price hike for a 10-20% uplift in performance is not worth it in my opinion. So, if RYZEN 5 - buy now. If RYZEN 9 wait till next week. Your case selection is great. When it comes to water cooling - only consider it for the "looks" and in case if you decide to buy RYZEN 9. If water cooling with AIO go for NZXT or CoolerMaster. 360mm RGB unit would look cool with your case. If you want a custom loop... Well, we do have $100 loop video that you don't wanna buy. LOL Custom water loop is a pain but it looks beautiful. Especially, with hard acrylic tubing. Also, don't forget about PSU. Get Corsair or EVGA power supply. Corsair has a better RMA process in case something happens. 1000W at least. RYZEN 9 can pull 250W - 300W. RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT upwards of 400W on the peak then settles to 300W - 350W. You want your PSU pulling 70% of its capacity from the wall. AC-DC losses are 15%. meaning, instead of 1000W as a baseline you should be looking at 850W. Considering, 70% pull is the most efficient for most of the power supplies - your system should not exceed 600W on a normal load. X570 without accessories plugged in 100W plus 200W CPU plus 300W GPU plus other stuff. That's how I got that "1000W at least" number for the PSU. Good PSU can handle even more than it's rated for but it won't live long. Basically, I want you to focus on power first. Either in form of PSU or good VRM on the motherboard and video card. Hope it wasn't too confusing. Let me know if you have any questions.

@@briangraham6264 I gotchu brother. So motherboard. I think that MSI you mentioned won't disappoint. RGB software is a mess no matter what combination you choose. Corsair AX1600i is a smart power supply. It should last for a long time. I have it and l love it. Don't expose it to high humidity though. If it's crazy humid where you live consider EVGA it's more simple in design. I know, it's weird. EK could be more expensive. Go for the looks in this case. The performance difference in high-end custom loops is negligible. RYZEN 12 core CPU doesn't overclock well most of the time (silicon lottery plus the fact that is AMD). So go for the looks with the water cooling. Soft tubing cloud over time so keep that in mind. Drain the system once a year or so. Any 360mm rads are good. Make sure if rad is aluminum the block is aluminum as well. Again, touch on that in one of the recent videos. Fans needed to create air pressure so push or pull doesn't matter. Good on you waiting on the new CPU. RAM has to be at least 3600Mhz AMD infinity fabric cares about the width of the BUS more than timings. You would need to lock in settings in BIOS though. I can walk you through. RX 6800XT and RYZEN 5000 is perfect. New technology called Infinity Cache. NVMe should be PCI-e Gen4 capable. You'll get double the speeds in the system. Games don't support crazy speeds yet since PS4 has an ancient spinny disk. Games are made for consoles first then PC. This SSD is good amzn.to/2TH6dDl . Samsung 2.5 is the most popular. amzn.to/3kMLjP6 . Games are getting bigger in size. In a few years, 2TB will fit only 4 games and SATA SSDs will lag behind. If you could - get beefy main or second NVMe. amzn.to/323pCmr . Keep in mind NVMe is more expensive right now. So, maybe get 1TB Gen 4 main NVMe to run demanding future games on it. And SATA 2.5 for current gen games and indie. Did I miss anything?

hey man. im new to building pcs and need some help. if i buy any of these motherboards will they support the new 5000 series chips out of the box, or will i have to do a bios update?
Back in August most of the boards received microcode update to support RYZEN 5000. AGESA 1.0.8.x. I’ll test it with older BIOS versions when the chip comes out. Official short answer - yes, you need to update first. Newegg and Amazon typically move inventory quick so there’s a chance if you buy now you’ll receive an updated board from the factory.
Check the bios version from which it supports the 5000 series on the site and then check yours ..Any board bought before the 5000 series release needs to be bios updated for 5000 series.I got a 5900x and I updated the bios on my asrock x570 steel legend and it works like a charm....only issue was that my board wouldnt post without a cpu ..so I got temporary cpu from a friend to do a Bios update..Please check the specs of your board if it can post without a cpu and get u into bios for flash. Some boards like msi do support that...
Depends when they ship the board from the factory. I might have an update already. The only reason why you need to update the bios is to have a support for 5000 to boot. Asus and gigabyte in description will update from usb without cpu

Hey man. Unfortunately not. Very good chance 5600x will boot with any 500 series board. Power pin out on the socket is the same exact as 3000 CPU. So, the board could just boot without knowing it’s 5600x. I’m still waiting on my 5600x so I can’t test all the BIOS versions. Hope this helps.

@@wilperez4973 Hopefully, Intel bounces back soon. Competition is good. NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm is one of the best. Corsair iCUE H150i Elite is a bit cheaper and very popular. You don't really need 360mm but it looks cool. Cooler Master ML240L is great for the money if you have RYZEN 5. Quick note, stock cooler is just fine. By going with AIO on AMD performance improvement is kinda small. 5-10% or so. Stock air cooler improves VRM temps. Warm air is better than no air. Hopefully, this helps.
Entertaining and informative.... double whammy nice work
Is there a particular reason you chose the Asus tuf x570 plus over the newer Pro version? I ask bc I cannot find any reviews on this aprrox 1 month old board which seems to be an upgrade
At the time of making this video Tuf was cheaper and good enough. Pro is a beast and could be somewhat an overkill when it comes to VRM.
hey george ... i am using my 2700x on the AEW x570 with bios F21 stable ...
@@GeorgeTech let me know if you still use the same number ... Looking forward to it
Good fun video with great information 👍
GEORGE CAME FROM THE MOUNTAIN
Which one should I use for my new PC?
i've seen loads of vids about the x570 mobo's and still can't choose what to go with, aorus master, can't find an ultra where I'm at, x570 taichi, or strix 570-e which in last year's gamernexus's review it was mentioned it was overpriced for what it offered? I'm getting a 5900x this week most likely
Asus warranty is better. Taichi is cheaper typically. Both are “premium”. VRM is good enough for 5900x. Can’t go wrong.
@@GeorgeTech thanks George!

So if im right, Asrock steel legend x570 is good for 5900x even if u want to OC. Want to combine it with AMD 6900XT. Am i good to go?? Let me know
You good to go
Where is the MSI x570 Tomahawk?
Too difficult to find and overpriced at the time of making.
I... I don't understand who won... :(
Cheap x570 from MSI is the loser. All others are sufficient. Everything else is up to you. Looks and features that are. Asus has better vrm. It may or may not matter depending on the cpu you choose and if you plan to overclook
Hi George
My name is Brian
I am requesting your knowledge and recommendations on buying a x570 PC motherboard please? What’s the best brand and value?
AORUS Master X570, MSI Meg Ace X570
I have purchased a Corsair 1000D PC case.
Thank You,
Brian
Hey Brian!

Does the Gigabyte X570 AORUS ULTRA have the same overclock problem?
which one is the best one ?
Asus tuf or asrock from this selection.
With the elite's heatsink design, you are not giving any airflow to it by using watercool, doesn't it disadvantage the board ??
I mean you still get airflow in a good chassis from the case fans. In a perfect world that it.
yeah, if case airflow is so bad that using liquid cooling on the cpu causes parts of the mobo to overheat, you were going to have problems anyway. get more airflow in your case. airflow is good. airflow is king. bad cases are bad. don't force your computer to live in a bad case, it's mean. don't be mean.
hey man. im new to building pcs and need some help. if i buy any of these motherboards will they support the new 5000 series chips out of the box, or will i have to do a bios update?

Asus has flashback. Gigabyte has qflash. Both will update without cpu
@@GeorgeTech So i'd be unable to boot until i've got the update done? Or can i boot and then update the motherboard after
Depends when they ship the board from the factory.

Why don't they stretch the Boards if it can short-circuit? At least they could upgrade to a medium-circuit!

Too expensive and AM4 is going away next year so you won’t be able to use it to update. To each their own. If you really like the board go for it.
