Its not all her fault that her taxes are not paid what are the use of there family and agency that they cannot do the paying of her taxes.she works her butt off by acting .the agency that handles hee are the one to be blamed for their negligence not all the fault should she. I always read in every year there will be actors and actresses that is always involves in tax issues. Just so thier fame cannot cover the other things that is going around the whole country.
That's the risk they all take. The workers and other actors would all have been paid already, so no financial distress to them. Just wasted time and energy if really totally taken off the shelf. (Thank goodness for the advanced AI technology nowadays.) The real financial impact will be on the producers and investors. To me, it is totally right that these tax evaders should be blacklisted from the entertainment industry as they are a high risk for pain and sufferings to other people by their personal irresponsible behaviors.
Tax violation is indeed a crime that must be punished. However, banning some actors or any actors may not necessary be the best solution. Plus, Yuan Bingyan is one of my top spotted n most loved Chinese actors. I am not sure how that would reflect on many fans as well.
Same as Deng Lun was the top actor but was backlisted / banned with the same issue. Yuan Bingyan should have known better. We know that you can be a top celebrity but still underpaid thus led them to fail to pay their taxes. Unfortunately fans can't ban them but the brands and agencies would walk away from them
Yuan Bing Yan's case is a very sad one. Not just with the tax issue but various rumours had also surfaced to smear her reputation. Even though fines have been paid, the masses in China continue to slander her character. Shenanigens by jealous people and those with hidden agendas seek to eliminate her from the entertainment industry. Its like a death sentence. Her fans especially the global fans continue to love and support her. They hope to see her on the screen again and waiting for the dramas that had been suspended to be aired eventually.
@@TestNo.1 Yes anyone would have known better especially when she had studied for years to be an actor and then worked hard to be recognised through a hit drama in 2020! In a short span of 2 years, she had fallen from grace through the tax issue and various rumours slandering her character. Surely there is more than meets the eye if one is to dig deeper, remain objective and not just listen to hearsay and start making judgement!
All sounds a little too excessive to me - to cut a persons earning ability because of an error with taxes - it's not like they committed murder - collect the taxes, add an additional fine so they learn from their mistakes - but don't hinder their rights to earn a living or indirectly punish those associated with them, like their fellow cast members. I don't see why everything needs to be reported to the world when it has to do with celebrities. If you want to report to the world on issues like tax evasion, start with large corporation CEOs, politians and royal family members

@@Qusland ok Mr/Ms Perfect you've never made a mistake or lied about anything - when it comes to taxes, although most people don't evade them because it's illegal, a LOT of people lie through their teeth about deductibles, especially tradies and others that are self-employed. Most people I know work for a living too but if they don't like their job, and it makes them miserable, they change their job, some more frequently than others, even to other fields. That all being said, what others do is none of my business, unless their actions directly affect me personally, I could care less what they choose to do. If more people would mind their own business this world would be a lot happier and safer place to live in

I find this a little extreme. Let her pay the fines whatever...but not allowing her dramas to air is a little too much. There were other people as well who worked on those projects, not just her.
Always do your tax return every year. It is not worth jeopardising your career because you failed to file your income tax. This is a big lesson to learn and I hope that everyone will take this seriously. Pay your tax, as simple as that.😊

This whole process is dumb. I'm sure these actors are busy and they don't do their taxes themselves. Well duh, but the 9-5 won't pay the amount of tax that they supposedly owe, assuming they actually don't have the money to pay and will need to continue working to do so ( E.g. Selena was robbed by her best friend and accountant). Also, a 9-5 will result in them paying less tax when the government could continue collecting more from them in years to come. This same scenario happens in other countries and they usually end up paying off the back tax and are allowed to continue working which is a win-win situation for everyone involved. A celebrity's job doesn't affect only them but also their team (whose jobs are considered 9-5). Think of it as a small business being abruptly closed leaving employees unemployed; now those individuals have to scramble and seek new roles, they may even have families to feed. From what I have seen and heard this isn't just a celebrity problem. This is a nationwide issue in China with the government having major problems getting citizens to pay their taxes.
Tax evasion is a major problem in every country. Just that the Chinese government is much more efficient at bringing the tax evaders and law breakers to task , unlike most other countries . They don't bloody care if they are celebrities or international figures. Even Jack Ma can be touched, what more to say these idol celebrities.
I hear their banks are having problems for quite some time, more than a year I think, and people can't access their money, etc. This creates not only problems for the masses but also for taxes, business, etc. So whose fault is it?

I have been hearing the banks in China are having problems; closing etc, for quite some time now. Since last year or the year before, I think. This creates problems not just for the people who lose access to their money, but also for taxes, business, etc. So whose fault is it?

For you & me, it may seem unfair, odd, or extreme. But for them (especially top tier celebrities), they know and are aware of the risks and benefits. Someone is managing their finances & they know where large chunks of money are being moved. They know their careers can tank & all it takes is a whistle blower.
She's a good actress, she's not an accountant. Errors in the company's accounting operations can only be said that she did not manage well, there is no basis to accuse her of tax fraud.

For example, the public contract states $500,000 for an artist as funds for a drama was $5 mil, but the under the table contract pays the artist pays out $2 mil. No one should lose their job but understand that different countries work differently. Especially after so many top tier/ A listers were busted & blacklisted & tax officials released a statement for celebrities to pay back taxes in an time period before they started the crack down. Many celebrities paid back & publicly cleared their taxes documents by posting it on Weibo. Some just took chances or do not manage their own money. Song Suer may look like the next to go.

Production should be allowed to pay a fee to the tax office to get something to say the actor is up to date with his/her taxes before they start. This will eliminate any problems for the government, production and the actor. They should not be allowed to work without it. Alternatively give the problem to the actor to have a certificate to say they are up to date on all tax and some channel in government set up to enable production to verify the status
How can you investigate before hiring a actor/actress. They may not be evading taxes at the time. However, I also don't think that if they did complete a drama & then was found to have committed this evading taxes that the drama shouldn't be aired ... because common sense tells you, that the all the cast get punished for 1 persons fault.
I agree that these top stars do hold a different level of expectations among the young and even the older generations. They are people who many viewers look up too & admire. With this... to find out that they have broken the law can be disappointing to say the least.

Hmm, I’ve heard that Chinese actors/actresses have to pay astronomical taxes and that these actors basically stay with a smaller portion while the Chinese Government stays with the majority. I don’t condone tax evasions but maybe tax them fairly and not excessively? Yes, maybe there might be some who are eager to get more money. But to have the majority of your income taken away by the Chinese government seems to be much more problematic and controlling.

This would be very big issue In US, nobody is allowed to escape the IRS. It is considered a serious criminal offence. Severe penalty, minimum 5 years imprisonment in a Federal Prison, a USD100,000 fine. or both.

Celebrities should do vetting and other tax violation before signing up for the next project. For example, Deng Lun from "Ashes of love" Yang Zi has to suffer for that because Netflix and other net has to remove the drama.

The bad side of these types of actors and actresses, they not only fail themselves but also fail everyone around them. I really feel sorry about these companies, they invest so much in creativity and have to pay the price for actors' or actresses' wrongdoings.
It is so clear, that everyone must pay their taxes accordingly to their country, as you benefit from public services provided by the country. I really respect the Chinese Government and it doesn't matter to them who you are you must follow the rules accordingly. I say this because I personally experienced this in China as a student. Even an ordinary person would think twice before doing this. Would she not also consider her parents who are civil servants and who had brought her up with a good education? Please don't get personal just because you don't like a particular actor and stop comparing one actor to another. Everyone does their best in acting, some better than others but let the industry pros decide on their acting prowess and just continue watching dramas for their plots and storylines. You can always switch if you can't stand their character or acting anymore. That aside, there is no excuse to not paying their taxes and once caught, feigning ignorance, etc., does not absolve them of negative consequences.

She is one of the FL Actresses I could never watch. I tried to watch so many of her dramas and had to drop them because I hated her acting. It sucks that her actions have now hurt so many others, but I'm fine with never seeing her again in the business.

@@busieshozi8810 WRONG. I don't dislike her because I'm a fan of someone else. There are very few actors I have an issue with. And, AS I SAID, I tried to watch many of her dramas but had to drop them because of her acting. I rarely drop dramas unless I can't stand an actor or the writing is garbage. You need to rest and let other people have an opinion that isn't yours.
@@maileevyne5000 It has to do with her facial expressions, and how she "mugs" instead of emotes or relies on making "cute" faces instead of exuding actual charm. She just rubs me the wrong way, and I can't get lost in the fantasy of the character she is portraying because the affectations are distracting.

I am so happy at the thought the actor will get cancelled, as I really hate the roles she plays! The roles she plays has ruined many shows which may have been watchable without her in it.
