- While on our trip to Utah, @HeavyDSparks invited us to stop in, finally meet in person, and check out his operation. It was last minute and unplanned for both of us, but after hanging out for a bit off camera, he had to run to a meeting, and Hans decided it was the perfect hope to get Dave to make a video that he had been trying to do for awhile. So while they setup to film a 60 second tiktok video, we filmed the absolute chaos that goes into their video filming. If they put this much into a short, just imagine what they do for a full video!

I like how Casey rationalizes things and then Dave throws everything at it and hopes something sticks. Lol
The difference between Casey's and Dave's recoveries? Casey's are with intelligence, Dave's with brute force.
Think of Casey's rigging of the School bus in his own yard, or Dave wrecking his own or his customer's equipment (ripped fender of struck RV, nearly tipping over the railway wagon at the Scout's camp, breaking his wrecker, snowcat and so on).

@@williamuskoski1385 What's your point exactly? OP is right regardless of their ability to do the job themselves. Casey's recoveries are more thought out where the Sparks crew are more reckless. They make a lot of mistakes but they don't hide it either.

@@williamuskoski1385 You're right a lot of haters have no clue. In this case however the OP is talking more about the man observed over a period of time not a singular recovery where something went wrong. Even taking recoveries out of the equation all together you can see two distinct style differences. The two people/channels are fundamentally different. One is thought out and calculated the other is more wild "let's see what happens" throw enough money and people at it and eventually it'll work. Absolute prime example of this was the video with Sparks and the FatTrucks he absolutely nearly wrecked one because he self admittedly just wanted to see what would happen if he drove down into some reeds. But that's ok! There is absolutely nothing or nobody saying he needs to be more like Casey. What he does works for him and surprisingly nobody has been killed yet. What he does gets views and it gets fans but that doesn't make him safe/careful or good at what he does. Personally I choose to believe it's more for show and in the background there's a team of safety advisors and experts.
Can we just all vote that the real hero here is Hans! I honestly would think it an enjoyable day hanging out lending him a hand through the day (plus I know my kid and his would probably have a blast playing together.)

Casey's arrangement for the tires was genius. When i saw it, i thought, that is the best move! I agree with the other commentors... Dave is all brawn, sometimes careless/clumsy. Whereas Casey is like an engineer, doing amazing things by understanding physics.
I'm glad this video turned out well for you. I've watched some of the Sparks video and they just drag along... with advertisements sprinkled in, but this was fun

You can block his channel from showing up in your RUclips feed. When you see it, there will be three dots vertically next to the tumbnail. Click on those and options will be displayed. I block a bunch of stuff that way.

Major contrast between the Sparks crew and your crew! Honestly, I prefer your stuff 90% of the time. You film stuff you would be doing anyhow, they invent things to do to video. A lot of Sparks' content just sorta comes off as "look at us piss away a bunch of money".
True, but the more crazy you get...more views and subscribers you get. Depends what your target is on youtube. I watched Heavy D before, not anymore...he is so whistlin diesel...not fan of forced content. But the others are.

Love Heavy D. He and his crew took time out of their lives to dig out Big Bear when they had the MASSIVE snow storm that literally closed the entire mountain. So appreciative. His entire operation is a big boys toy chest and it's fun. The Tik Tok challenge was hilarious.

This is the modern world back in the day (i'm 61) if someone would have paid me to film my friends and i fishing at a keg party i would not have said no. The guy (Casey ) has a bussiness works hard and the whole point is to make content even if you have to invent it on the fly. The most important part is that you still like Casey but you don't always like what he does just like any other person in the real world you just know that's how they are ,no big deal. If he ever becomes like a Heavy D thing i will check out but the 2 together does not bother me at all. If you want stupid wasteful videos check out Robbie Layton.

I stopped watching anything with Heavy D after he kept claiming poverty but gets a quarter of a million dollar ski boat and the army boat and everything else he has. And now claims to be a heavy recovery wrecker guy just because he has access to large vehicles.
The infomercials are pretty dope, to be honest. And I have no problems at all with scripts. Unless it goes into the territory of scripted things being sold as real (actual, actual) or you having to question of their recoveries are real or might have been set up before. How many stuck in multiple feet of mud can you find any given year? That's why I became less interested over time. It has nothing to do with the script or the production itself, though. That has always been top notch and very fun.
I have to agree, not a fan of Heavy D, to much showing off. I'll stick to Casey's vids, he knows wth he's doing.

Matt from Matt's Off-Road Recovery was interviewed and said RUclips called him about rescuing the Golden Nugget and rebuilding it with other channels was the first time they had such a big collaboration between content producers. Fab Rats went on the recovery and did much of the Fab Work. Matt's channel worked on some of the Suzuki, Robbie Layton painted the chassis and body, then it went back to Fab Rats where Chad's Fab came to work on the wiring.
Casey LaDelle went to Matt's to help with the wrecker build when they put the frame together.

After having my van vandalized, I can tell you that one of the large Rust-Oleum spray cans will cover half of a Ford cargo van. Those tires must have a lot of surface area.

I'll admit not a big fan of HeavyD because of the show they did put the diesel tuning community in the crosshairs of the EPA, but a lot of this hate on this video is just weird. I get that his stuff is scripted and more reality TV like, but so is half the stuff on this platform.
Loved watching Casey behind the excavator! I think a great episode would have been heavy wrecker against heavy wrecker but that’s just me.

Pretty sure the rules stated before were, "If a tire falls off the trailer, you're disqualified." Heavy D lost, Casey won, period!
Did he try and sell you some green powder or an ancestory title? Stopped watching the guy because he was promoting some (not all of it) dodgy stuff and then doubled down on it when people called him out.
