    I've considered upgrading GPU's several times, but pricing is so crazy lately that I don't feel it's worth it.
    Then each new release, I keep finding out my 2070 Super + i9 9900k is still keeping up. Hell, I was even able to play BG3 at 4k 60 through Act 1, before eventually dropping settings a bit & switching to Vulkan.
    And with FSR 3's features being revealed, it now sounds like I'll be rocking this card even longer. If it delivers even half of what's promised, even older cards than mine will get significant performance benefits.

    • @MrSlvr2000
      @MrSlvr2000  Год назад

      They are really pulling the power out of older cards which is extremely nice. Vs trying to make you just buy a new card.

    Nice vid, it's cool to see your rig!
    I'm still on a gaming laptop myself, due to space/portability needs, and somewhat lower on specs than you. My current setup is an Intel i7-10750H, RTX 2060 and 16GB DDR4, which runs Star Citizen acceptably for the most part but becomes pretty unusable in scenarios with a lot of local entities (JT with all the ship wrecks and maze boxes has brought my fps down to single digits on a few occasions).
    I've already added a secondary SSD - a Crucial P3 1TB - with Starfield's 125GB size in mind, meaning I can leave Star Citizen installed on the boot drive, and I'm panning to add a 32GB stick of RAM which brings me up to either 40GB or 32B in total depending on whether I can get it to run alongside one of my current 8GB sticks. Once that's all done I'm confident I'll be able to run Starfield perfectly fine, I ran Metro Exodus (a famously demanding game on PC) very happily on high graphics settings on this machine, and honestly anything above 30fps is fine by me.

      @@MrSlvr2000 Oh yeah, it's a lovely machine: Razer Blade 15, 2020 base model.
      Runs like a dream, insane build quality, basically never has overheating issues despite being one of the most compact laptops in its class, and has that rarest of features for a gaming laptop a high quality and colour-accurate screen so I can use it for creative work as well ... I honestly adore it.
      Some friends of mine have an MSI GS66 (MSI's direct competitor to the Blade 15) and after a year or two of use the screen is warped and wobbles on the hinges and it overheated so many times that it ended up crashing every time they tried to play Minecraft and I had to go into the windows settings manually lower the max output of the CPU to keep it cooler.

    I can testify and say that 16 GB of ram is sufficient. That’s how much I have and it runs fine.
    On the cooling system, I had to buy a 280MM AIO. The AIO my pc came with was small. I think it was a 120MM AIO. Other than that, games run great

    • @MrSlvr2000
      @MrSlvr2000  Год назад

      My dual fan MSI aio was causing mine to overheat.....I think it was how it was seated on the CPU, but I upgraded while I had it out and it solved the issue regardless 😁

    • @joshrubio6373
      @joshrubio6373 Год назад

      @@MrSlvr2000 yeah, my AIO was too small I think, it also had the pump in the radiator instead of the cooling head. I had to lower the frequency my cpu was running at as much as I could so it wouldn’t TT. But after I got the new cooler, it runs perfectly fine even at max frequency. I enjoy your videos. 32gb of ram is good since you both stream. I use 32gb on my rigs and DDR4 is so cheap right now, it’s a no-brainer. What SSD are you using for your D drive? If it doesn’t have an SLC cache, that might be the problem. Just throwing that out, not sure.
