I'd suggest making a stockpile for the food so your ants don't always die of hunger lol I don't know think it's old age. You're only feeding the queen.

And on the other hand there's cactus, which isn't Latin, so the plural shouldn't be "cacti"

Add a trail from the small ant spawner to the food route so that your colony grows itself. Use the bigger ants that don't have timed life to transport scrap, refined metal and larvae.

Merging is useful for population control. They do not live twice longer, but they can be as numerous. So, in the end, you are still having an advantage to merge!
Could also merge ants at the end of a really long workflow, to give them a new lease on life.

Ant colony sims have been done, though. I have yet to see someone make a termite colony sim.

This is so efficient he boasts, while his ants pickup stuff from the first leg of a journey and then wander around in a large circle before dropping it off.
Coming across this video on one of my favorite channels was such a mind fuck. I went on a date with the guy that made this game and I just had the deja vu of a lifetime. Took me a while to remember everything he told me LOL

Sentry ants are just the starting four ants. They have an infinite amount of energy and can only haul and forage to make sure that you never get softlocked, but you don’t have incredibly overpowered ants at the very start.
Even if merging results in mere 1.5 ants worth of energy it's still better than 2 smaller ants since it consumes twice as less energy per interval.
Can't wait until someone with a understanding of logistics and, you know, _math_ get into this. Kibs would utterly crack it open.

It is Factoria but with ants, rather than conveyor belts. Seeing some of the demo images this game gets nuts. Also playing the game, it really wants you to use the logic gates to make any real progress. It is a fun game but it makes my brain hurt to do the logic and make it all work.
4:15 Larva (LAR-vuh) is the singular form, Larvae (LAR-vee) is the plural form. So it's larva since they're referring to a single larva, and not a group of larvae. Hope that helps 🙂

I was on the fence about this game, right up to where you opened up a tech tree. Buying for sure now.
Watching an rce video for 11:56 seconds before he finally decides to automate the most time sensitive part of the resource loop by doing what I was thinking could work sinse around 5 minutes in. I will say though that I am a bit impressed that you didn't decide the devider would be good for the nursing area, as you could aeasily devide them however you want from one devider and if you don't want the ants to be split evenly you could always just add another devider or make certain routes loop back to the first one depending on your reasuorce needs, I thought you would use these as you mentioned them shortly before as you discovered them in the game and you started using them right away but failed to see that the devider would be quite good a dispecing the ants to their jobs. ps he did the devider thing like 2 minutes later, very good Matt, do it first next time. Also MATT don't add 3 deviders and 2 cmbiners to make ''lv2'' workers for each side, make all the incubators go in to a or a line of combiners then use deviders to get them where you need them. it's essentially don't build a small farm in every state, build one really big one where you want it and spread your product from there

This game looks very addicting. And the sfx is so powerful, it feels like working in some sort of manufacturing plants.

I’ve had half an idea of a making a game that is reverse factorio where the bugs are the ones doing the mining and resource extraction. Looks like this game had a similar idea. Instant wishlist!

The average lifespan of an ant depends on the species and caste. Generally, the larger the ant, the longer its lifespan. Queens and larger workers(present in some species) usually have longer lifespans than smaller workers. Larger species of ants also have longer lifespans than smaller ones.

OMG RCE... I have an obsession with hive minds, maybe sprouting from Stellaris. Watch ur vids all the time... Saw this, forgot what I was doing. Now this... This takes priority.
You should get the full game and make more videos on it. It’s very interesting and i think you could make interesting videos with it and there seems like there is a lot of content.
