I know this is a vintage video but good to see it. I just picked up a used like new in the box BH Tracker IV with a nice set of headphones and a small spade for $40. I’m excited to get out there and get started in this hobby. Hope this finds you feeling better than your last post.
I have the Chinese one. I did a little work on tightening things up and replaced the metal lower wand with a PVC pipe and replaced the coil mounting metal jhardware with plastic. This made it a lot less temperamental and easier to set up since there is no metal near the coil. I got rid of all the rattles and klunks without too much trouble. Where I live the Chinese machine is a quarter the price of anything made in the USA.
i bought my tracker 4 because i was not sure i would like detecting. it paid for itself in less than a year on modern coins i would say including the wheats buffalo nickels and war nickels and even 1 v nickel plus 2 silver dimes it has returned more than double what i paid for it. and i've dug thimbles at over a foot deep. even though i have a better bounty hunter coming this week. but the tracker 4 helped me decide which machine to step up to. plus huntergt's excellent videos
It is totally amazing how much more half a dollar can get you. No comparison. BH all the way. Made in the USA! Thanks for sharing HunterGT. GL and HH. Eric
Yeah it's bonkers how much better the Tracker is for the same price. Stay tuned...I just may have a 3rd Intey on the way LOL...I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.
I bought tracker v in $99 dollars and paid another $100 for the shipping and custom tax to my country . But i really enjoy my tracker v because in my place i am the first one got a detector and coins are everywhere😊 , i would like upgrade to t2 for prospecting but the shipping cost and custom tax is what killing my budget
Tracker IV is a fine machine. Recovery speed and unmasking is very very good. T2 would be a great upgrade however. Any local dealers in your country perhaps?
The recovery "speed" on the China machine was disgusting. Wouldn't surprise me if that thing misses surface coins regularly. Really like to see more super cheap detector vids to get an idea about some of the diamond-in-the-rough machines out there that may be worth adding to the arsenal. Thanks THGT
The Tracker 4 what would anyone expect. Bounty Hunter T4 is a beast of a detector.. And from what I have seen the 10 inch magnum coil gives a bit more depth and the 4 inch coil is a good little coil to get into those tight places.
Thank you for doing this review! I have always been a rockhound but recently started doing coins and my oldest is turning 13 and we love to explore and treasure hunt, so he has been asking for a metal detector for awhile. With a birthday 20 days before Christmas, I need to stay on the cheaper end. I was looking at the INTEY, but now that I have seen this I will definitely be going American!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video Amy. You are making the right choice by staying away from these detectors. The Tracker 4 is a much better detector and the same price. Thanks for the info in the nickels. I did not know that!
I found MOST of my great finds with a used Tracker IV and wish I had never gotten rid of it too. But, that being said, the Chinese-made Famous Trails MD-1023 is practically as deep as the BH Tracker IV and has a much faster recovery speed out in the real world coin/ring hunting environment, even on it's two-tone i.d. setting which is a toggle switch just like the BH. The connection sleeve between the upper and lower shaft on the MD-1023 is really cheap(not surprising with Chinese goods) and doesn't tighten down the two ends very effectively so there was a lot of wobble in this connecting point. I had to use a couple pieces of electrical tape inside the threading just to get the two to tighten down to something. Hey 'TheHunterGT', the nickel is hard(er) for a lot of models/brands to find for some reason. Might be that nickel alloy is a harder and denser metal. The older version of the BH Time Ranger has phenomenally slow recovery speeds too and it is made in Texas. Want an American-made MD that has a considerably faster recovery speed than the TK IV?? Try the BH VLF/Gold Digger which is cheaper, new, than the BH TK IV but it won't go as deep as the TK IV.
Yup...my son had a Gold Digger for a couple years before we upgraded him to a Digitek from Teknetics. Insane recovery speed. If it was just a couple inches deeper it would be a fantastic machine. I do prefer the Tracker 4 over it and feel the recovery speed is almost as good on the Tracker 4. I can't get either one to miss a coin as long as they are spaced coil width apart. Anything close is separation and the Gold digger wins there dues to the smaller coil. I have a new Purple Intey I will reviewing for fun soon...at low disc it will barely pick up a nickel and gold ring. I almost think it might be defective to be honest. I have never seen a detector disc out a nickel on low. Raise it up and it will disc out a silver dime....bonkers.
Dang! Makes me proud of my Tracker 4. Looking to upgrade for sure but I’m definitely getting another one as there are some deals if buying used ones. Go go Tracker 4.
The BH TRACKER 4 is also a RadioShack discovery 1000 same machine. And my 4 inch sniper coil from my BH TIME RANGER works great on the tracker 4 . Great comparison video thanks
Fun video TheHunterGT. I would caution taking TheMotherGT out though. OR better yet, Give the ladies each a camera and have them film their hunts. I think that might level the playing field and give you the same amount of time to hunt :D
Thanks for the video, just picked up 2 of the trackers for the wife and I as our first detectors to get into the hobby, quick question though, whats the difference between picking up coins and jewelry? Do you use coins as a test because theyre harder to detect, or just easier for the videos? Im just curious if detectors find coins and jewelry about the same when theyre in the ground etc. Thanks
I use coins because those will be the most common finds for a detectorist. I use a ring since that is what everybody "wants" to find. A coin and a ring are both going to be pretty easy targets compared to a small earring or small pendant. Size and depth are relative to the response.
The only thing i like see bounty hunter do is have a multi frequency chip go from 5 to 40 khz like a vanquish 340; this is because gold flakes not gold ore presidential nuggets like 40khz to 72khz frequency further down in soil.
I have the Bounty Hunter Camo Ls which is quite a bit more expensive than the tracker IV and the recovery speed is pretty bad...otherwise it's a great detector..
Should of showed the settings to see if you did them similar. Could just be different setting configuration. Plus, you did the asian one slower then the tracker 4. Just to say, I have the bounty hunter 4 but this looks like a bias test.
Now that was a fun video to watch Hunter. FTP has shown time and time again against most regardless of price how good and affordable they are. So proud to use the F70 !!!! Nice job man!! HH
Thanks Jeff! Nobody beats First Texas in price to performance. This $90 Tracker 4 has better recovery and separation than some $300-400 range detectors from other companies. The $300-400 Teknetics and Fishers are as fast and deep as the $600-700 range detectors from other companies. The $500-700 range Fisher and Teknetics are as good as some $1000+ detectors from other guys. I'll stop there as I don't want to hurt anybodies feelings. Sensitive bunch in this hobby. :)
Oh yea... Well how does that China 'Tector compare to a T2 or F75? Lol (Luv ur vids man but am questioning my sanity after watchin this one! lol) I was impressed with that BH's recovery speed though!
Between $300-$800 and i living in Wolgograd (Stalingrad) and there was a big battle between the Russians and the Germans in ww2, so i want find some military stuff.
I feel VERY BAD for you with your thoughtless, rude, disrespectful neighbor, allowing their dog to aggressively bark at you like that. I have the SAME PROBLEM on three sides of my property and never get no kind of relief as they all seem to think 'that's what a dog is supposed to do' as one of them put it. NO, that's what an (untrained) dog does, yes..., even though that's natural but with neighbors, they ought to care (JUST A LITTLE) maybe...................
Yeah it;s pretty bad sometimes. I have since moved my recordings inside here. My Colorado house had a nice big bar table in the kitchen where I reviewed everything. No longer the case here in California, so I figured outside would be ok under the awning. That dog never shuts up...so that idea backfired.
Chinese Junk. I'm quite surprised that the Japanese haven't ventured into the MD world. They are technically right up there with the very best that there is, and in many respects their technical and engineering prowess surpasses most. . As for the Chinese, it beggars belief almost that they produce such sub- standard things in the 21st Century. All the best Hunter, take care and take it easy..
I buy capacitors from Japan for soldering work. I would love to see them enter the MD market...but being such a small island/country that already bans it in the homeland...I don't see it happening any time soon.
@@thehuntergt how many years has the tracker 4 has been around and its the best seller on amazon plus alot of big dogs still use it so maybe you need to study your detecters, but me or huntergt cant tell you that its better youll have to get one and see, thanks huntergt for the vid

MITommy Tracker 4 is one of those diamonds for sure. Speed and testing really surprised me for a 90 dollar detector.
Most useful review about metal detector on youtube. Bounty Hunter Tracker is the best inexpensive metal detector no doubt. Thank you!
Very kind words. Thank you as well.
The Tracker 4 what would anyone expect. Bounty Hunter T4 is a beast of a detector.. And from what I have seen the 10 inch magnum coil gives a bit more depth and the 4 inch coil is a good little coil to get into those tight places.
I bought the bounty hunter from hobby lobby for $79.95 and it works great
If you don't have $80.00 for a pin pointer go to harbor freight and get a stud finder that detects metal for around $30.00

Also, I wanted to let you know that the new liberty nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel, that could be part of it.

To buy these is to support stolen tech built by slave labor.

Please tell me about tracker4 depth.... if target is big and varied..... plz
Maybe 5-6 inches in dirt.
I would always prefer the BH products over anything from China. Hope you enjoy hunting the new playgrounds.
Heading out to a couple gold claims tomorrow...more of a scouting trip. Maybe some videos!
Jerry Dineen
This is what i got out of the video
Stop at Panda for some Orange Chicken after my next hunt..
I love me some Panda Express....Kung Pao over noodles!
I have the Bounty Hunter Camo Ls which is quite a bit more expensive than the tracker IV and the recovery speed is pretty bad...otherwise it's a great detector..
Yes the recovery speed is not great on it...but it is a good unmasker with that slow swing speed.
As always Hunter great vid best wishes to you and the family my friend you are the man.
Thanks man! Appreciate all your support! Best wishes right back at ya!
estaba x pedir uno chino, pero me convenciste x el bounty hunter,no se puede comparar, gracias desde la argentina.
Encantado de ayudar.
lol. Can wait to see the new beach videos. Do not forget to bring mom for good luck.
Coming soon! :)
Pound for Pound, dollar for dollar the BH Tracker 4 is the best buy for the buck .
I won't argue that...since I can't think of anything that comes close to it's performance and track record.
Go to philippines they have gold bar treasure,, but need a gold detector
