Yes the rear engines acts as bankers as the route have high altitude sections where naughty boogies can pull back Thomas engines with them so Gordon engines should be backup for such boogies.. 😅

why we are not getting another train from howrah to goa directly

The section from londa to Madgoan is single line with many ghats so trains run below 30kmph between castle Rock to kulem stretch which makes difficult to run more trains and also this route is heavy density manganese ore transporting route from Hospet Gadag Hubli Londa upto vasco scenario with plenty or freight trains on this route so to run more trains it's difficult at present scenario.
