Spectacular performance! People wasn't ready for so much culture.Some people cant get over the fact that 2 strong, talented, influential, sexy Latinas burned this stage. It makes them uncomfortable that these 2 artists are comfortable with who their roots. They both showcase a little taste of what Latin america is in their unique styles. Latin America is such a rich culture with diversity in their music, culture, food, their people etc. Shakira showed a multi cultural, multi talented performance and JLo made a strong political statement alongside her daughter. This is the best half time show I can remember. Each of them deserved their own Super bowl show. Great reaction!! New sub here.

There are a lot of misconception regarding the children in cages being a tribute towards Kobe Bryant. It is because during a news segment, it was reported that there was last minute Kobe tribute while showing those kids in cages. The children in cages was actually a political statement representing how it was reported that Hispanic children detained by ICE were in cages.
As for the Kobe Bryant tribute, this was done through lighting. Beginning from Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) towards the end, through the final dances, the lighting changed to the Lakers Purple Yellow colors.

And the dancers that danced salsa with jlo are colombian dance group. Shakira wanted to bring the diversity that the Latin culture has.
The 2nd Guy is J Balvin from Colombia, The Little Girl singing is Emme Jlo's Daughter. The last Song by Shakira is Called Waka Waka (an Ode to Africa) , Shakira sang this song Originally for the 2010 World Cup(Soccer) because she's Half Colombian Half Lebanese (North Africa).
