Hey man..... Zeytin is she and not a he. Did you actually watch this?
The street dogs - and cats (each animal inhabiting their own private city hill top) - was a peak life experience for me 3 years ago. I never saw a starved, sick or unhappy animal nor poop or litter. Instead there were little plates with food for them everywhere. I had 2 weeks to spend in Istanbul with a friend who was there for work, so in the end, I used 80 percent of my day time to pet dogs and cats. And I never saw such proud and dignified animals and I will love them and their city forever. Obviously, the movie Stray is a must see.
Hi Lave! I too, like the first commenter, wonder how closely you watched the film as Zeytin is a female not a male dog. I understand your comment on the subtitles but I respectfully disagree on one point- perhaps the dogs indeed do 'understand' what's being said around them. I suppose we will never know, but I am willing to consider a certain level of understanding as the dogs wind their way through it all. I particularly loved this spoken counter point to the dogs 'narrative'. Hearing what was going on in little snippets of other people's lives as the dogs meandered in and out of spaces I thought fascinating. I particularly loved one lover's quarrel at a cafe table where, I presume, a boyfriend is upset his girlfriend followed someone on instagram. Zeytin calmly moves on.
The quarell showed how fucked up muslim men treat women.
Mankind should be more compashionate to dogs than than mankind. Man"kind" doesn't deserve compassion. Canines do.
Her.
Isle of Dogs ... just sadder.
Why ?
That's a very interesting thought....that most audiences won't be able to understand the language, just like the dogs. So the subtitles intrude.
@Cole Casey damn what an elaborate ad 😂 two coordinated seperate accounts making it look more real well done 👏
i really like "dags" too,
ps: your pronunciation of dogs reminded me of Brad Pitt and the Pikeys in Snatch. :D
Can you help us get a video??
