Nice work. I would remove the hv terminals from the connector at the battery, and fill the plug with epoxy. Leave the hv interlock loop wire. Then the plug is a safe way to not have hv coming out.

Thought about that as well, but I have project in mind to hook up a custom inverter on that line to use for backup AC power. So wanted to leave the connector intact.

@@evsolar I'd love to hear about that also, here or at mnl. Please share when you do it. That'll be interesting, hv DC to what 230v 50hz?

Thanks. I have been using this setup for a year now, altough I added one more element totalling 600W. One thing to note is that it can take up to 3 hours to defrost the windows when the temperature drops below -5 celcius.

Hey bud, did your PTC module itself die or did the high voltage cables themselves stop putting out current. My leaf heater just died this winter. There’s a fuse that can blow in the junction box or the element itself in dash can go out. Did you test the high voltage wires to see if they were showing any current through them beforehand?

Hi, Heater itself seems to have died. HV cables were live.

I'd be curious to know just how effective this is with only 600W. I believe the the stock system is over 1000W.

It is effective but only to certain temperatures. The Stock heater is 6000W.

Did you say a CAMRY heater from amazon?
    Do you have a link?
    I can't find them

Hi, No it's ceramic heater. Just search for "12V ceramic PTC heater element". There are plenty of them.

What is the stock Heater's Wattage?
Just to confirm, this heats the car Interior, not the battery, correct?

      Maybe I should get a 100W?

Is this the PTC heater that goes IN the battery?
Can I add one to a 2011 model?

      Hi, I posted a how-to on mynissanleaf forum: www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=28105&start=30#p577070
I did not have time to put up a video yet. But as I see a demand for it, will aim to upload during this month.

Still did not have time for it, but I already have the footage, just need to edit the video and upload. Should not take much longer ;).
