    Hi, this video is useful, so many "reviews" of these lights but not actually measuring whether they work (UVA+B) or not. Do you know if the MAYIN LED 13000K and 6700K lights actually have UV? I saw that the 2700K one does but it is very yellow.

      Last tested mayin super color, xl tanning led light and some others china led white tube, mr diy t5 led, panasonic celing light led.There's no reading detected by Uv card... based on test i had done, we could assume that led chip does not produce uv ray at all. Even it does, its far too weak to be pickup by tester. Led is similiar to snake oil when it come to tanning , cloud 9 promises but fail to deliver.

      We don't have that brand over here. Unable to feedback much on it. You may try side tanning it for 2-3 month. Then observe your fish scales. If color deepen/darken slightly then well yes it does contain some sort of uva/b. Else its just an overprice peice of lamp.

    • @wkng8303
      @wkng8303  Год назад

      Best light = natural sun light. Its free. If indoor tank, may try tanning specific light tube such as tica aro10 which is plug n play. If you hav some basic in electrical stuff, opt the diy route....get your self few electronic balast, some reptiglo 5.0 tube. This tube gives out better uv radiation and last longer then those tanning light.

    May I seek some advice if the tanning lights will actually kill off beneficial bacteria required for the nitrogen cycle?

    • @wkng8303
      @wkng8303  Год назад +1

      Your concern related to uvc light? Tanning light shouldnt kill off bb, as most of the offshelf light do not contains uvc spectrum. Also bb colonize filter media, bio media usually on sump /filter box. Which get limited to no light at all. It should not have any impact on your bb colony. Unless it's a UVC tube then it will kill off all your bb if its place wrongly on sump.

    • @wkng8303

      To develop shine , a full white tank, matt white tank or white fiber tank. Any white light will do. Based on my experience with few golden/mg, it take about 4 to 5 month to show good shine all the way to lvl 5.5 or 6. (sample size 4 inch, grow out to 8 inch in white tank) however shine will degrade within a week once transfer to viewing tank.

As for 2700k, its on the warm side, some would say it's use to develop color however there is no proof to back it up. Brand wise, i could only recommend what i have use before which is tica. But do take note that its uv output degrade over time. At most 5-6 month u'll need to replace it.

    • @wkng8303
      @wkng8303  2 года назад +1

      Can use aro10 or tcu2. But limit the aro10 duration around 3-4 hour a day then continue with normal led tuk naikan metallic/shine. Increase aro10 duration as ur fish progress. Kalau boleh pump dia punya body dulu pas tu baru start main tanning. Kalau tank kat outdoor kena matahari.. pakai colorup aje no need beli tanning light. Kerana tak de lampu yg boleh challenge matahari. Also advice u jgn main tanning dulu coz it will stress the fish , a stressed fish = low appetite fish=slow growth=stunt. Also aro10 lose its uva/uvb autput after 5 month - 7month of usage. So kena tukar kalau nak sambung tanning. For your info.. tanning bukan satu atau 2 bulan mia kerja. Gua mia sr dah dekat 19 bulan lebih tanning, its color still developing 😅😅

      Edit: tuk makan.as long as nafsu makan dia ada, bagi aje. Sehari 1 atau 2 kali. cengkerik kakinye potong, taring kaki boleh menyebabkan issue dalam perut ia. Superworm /meal worm bagi yg baru salin kulit, jgn bagi yg dah mati. udang potong tu ok juga.

      big tank are not optimal for tanning. Unless u plan to plonk in 6-8 light tube.. however you may lower your tank water level to get a much optimal tanning. For young fish any light will do, for those SR that start to show pale color on ring then it's deem suitable for tanning, can start with 13k and move on as the fish develop.

    • @wkng8303

      For young fish, i'll prefer to go with white tank. As for dark background, i guess it's much more suitable to showcase a fully develop adult fish. However there's no restriction on what kind of color one should use. Some use black base , blue backgrnd, some go full white, black , bare and so on. Trial and error bro.

      Golden or sr? This we call "cuci sisik" /wtt here.Anyway to cross or not, it dependent on genetic. Some may cross , some would not this it true for golden type. However this don't really applicable for sr as sr will cross eventually with out much special attention given. Reptile light not gonna help on your objective, best bet would be high lumen white light + white tank. Reptile light only meant to be used to develop a deeper coloration.

    • @wkng8303
      @wkng8303  3 года назад +1

      @Abah Hensem alo bro, can be used on young fish, just that you may want to limit the exposure duration. As for background, kalau ikan you golden, go for white, it helps to develop crossing earlier and beneficial for tanning phase where we only focus to bring out it's ring and core color. As for SR, i only have one in my collection so i cant comment much on background for SR. My sr from 6.5 to 14 inch in white tank , and transfer to a bare tank later on. However based on my observation on my golden's , they'll change to adapt to their environment . Example a dirty tank full with green algae on glass, fish color are great. Once you clean them up. they go pale again. So i believe it's not permanent when we play with background. No doubt fish color looks intense with dark tank, but i believe it's only applicable for fish which is fully developed.
