This song came up randomly on a computer-generated playlist and here I am sitting in my at-home office ugly crying. This beautiful song perfectly captures the spirit of hope at our lowest moments. Thank you.
@@EmilyScottRobinson I just discovered this song yesterday when it came across my FB feed because my friend, Willy Porter, commented on it. You were singing it live in a venue (a few days ago?) and got a standing ovation. The tears wouldn't stop and I knew I had to show it to my guitar playing/ singing son who is all about lyrics. He loved it as well. What a beautiful gift you are to humanity. We hope you come to Madison, WI some day so we can see you live. Have fun in Scotland... our ancestral homeland. Many Blessings. S
I'm from Wales, Emily, the 'Land of Song'.. and your words resonate so beautifully and so personally. Not only have you a delightful voice, which lifts up our spirits, but the message behind these words exude hope and promise, and reminds us that our fate is indeed 'bound up' together, as a human race, with a common purpose to overcome and survive all adversity. The lyrics emphasise the need to care for one another in a benevolent way. A beautiful and enduring sentiment for these dark times. Your words have really touched me. Thank you for sharing such a fundamental message.
Emily Scott Robinson, Bill Fanz here, your newest Denver superfan. I literally have this song in my head as somewhat of a permanent earworm these days, and listen to it every day as well (usually more than once). I sent all of your CDs as a birthday present to my cousin Scott (songwriter of "The River" that I sent for your consideration, with his blessing.) And I am a truly rabid music afficianado, constantly going down rabbit holes and discovering new music. As I mentioned when we met at Soiled Dove Underground, it has truly penetrated my core being like none other. I honestly can't see another song coming along and knocking this off of it's perch in my soul, I love it so much! And I'm not afraid to say it, I love you too Emily, you just exude a spirit that I hope will penetrate humanity and begin to repair this world we are all currently living in. I will continue to share it far and wide, that's a promise. Thank you for being you, and for bringing this song into the world. xo, see you again as soon as the opportunity arises! xoxo, Bill
I heard this on the radio in College Station Tx. This has to be one of the most Beautiful songs I have ever heard. Love and Light from the Heart of Texas.
I always feel like an incomplete song, until I hear someone's original work and realize that our souls speak the same language. It's kind of like our hearts whisper to each other. And then, my heart starts singing, with a gentle touch of your heart, and then, we become the song. It's hard to explain, but being a songwriter yourself, I hope you understand. Thank you Emily for your beautiful original song. Please keep writing...because the world needs you
I heard this song for the first time today, at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. It was a slightly different arrangement. But just as beautiful. It took me a moment to hear the words, and when I did, I had to look into it… I proceeded to find the lyrics online and they immediately brought tears to my eyes upon reading. The message is so powerful. Thank you
This song. Wow. Saw you were opening for American Aquarium, and they don’t suffer subpar openers. I came to listen but I wasn’t expecting to cry. Great song.
Thank you. Last year found your music by Spotify recommendation. First "marriage ain't the end of being lonely" was on my daily playlist and now this song has been very comforting in this year.
Hello, I am a follower of your music and it accompanies me often in my work from home. I am from Argentina and your voice comforts my soul, Surely the time of flowers will return one day, but we must sow love and water it with the tears that escape in these difficult times. I send you a big hug from those who stick broken bones. excuse me for my bad english
Absolutely beautiful and so poignant...this has been the hardest year my family has ever been experienced, but we will get through...and as this song says, "the time for flowers will come again." I love it!
WOW.... Beautiful song Emily, you have so much talent. I have been a fan of yours since I saw you here in Durango at Beth's house concert. I also loved seeing the Peaks in the background while you sang. Thanks for all you do and for such beautiful songs. Please keep doing what you're doing!
I've been really down this week because school just started and we're all online. This is my senior year of high school and I feel like I'm missing out on things I had waited almost my entire life for. This song has made me feel a lot better and helped me realize that the good times will be back again and I'll make even better memories in the future. Thank you for this song :)
Beautiful song! Heard it today when Steve sang and played it on his guitar during the sharing part of the Sofa Singers. Just bought it on iTunes and sharing your video on Facebook. Thanks Emily!
Just heard this played as a cover on ukulele by a very talented gal and wanted to hear the original. Savannah Rae does a nice job, and so glad she led me to see your version and your video. Thanks for creating such a beautiful song of hope
Hey Emily, just found your music about a month ago and am a huge fan of yours from Canada! I love that you sing about stuff that matters. Your songwriting and voice are incredible!
Emily, thank you so much for the beautiful music you write and record for us to enjoy. I saw you at Mountain Stage in Charleston, WV back in late February. What a great show! You, Joe Pug, Railroad Earth... That was the last live music I saw before all this mess started. I needed this song today. I hope you make your way back to WV sometime soon. Stay Safe!😊
