this was done annually for charity. Pavarotti invited numerous great singers to join him. it was an honor never denied . millions of dollars was raised for charity.
This is the beauty of REAL music outside of hiphop and rap .. it is appreciated worldwide and truly brings cultures and peoples together like no politican ever could
The older you get the more you will appreciate all different genres of music, and everything else in life. This was an excellent collaboration and can't be matched by anyone else. That said, check out an impromptu duet of * "It's A Man's World" by Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson on *The Voice..U.K. It can't compare to Pavarotti and James Brown, but it's up there, especially since it was unrehearsed. Your make me smile every time I watch your channel. 😄
Pavarotti's verse translated: Man chases power but he doesn't know that the Great limits himself to being what one seems In the palm of his hand He holds an idea That only lives in his imagination he wanted If he doesn't realize that Then nothing makes sense anymore If you live only for yourself
James Brown must be watched live so you can see what a beast he was dancing and sliding during his performances. Michael Jackson took some of his footwork when he was younger. Nobody moved like James Brown!
It’s NEVER too late, Shon, to learn an instrument. Many teachers and schools have rental instruments too. Lots of classes on YT too for everything!!❤And you are musical!
Awesome!! I've seen this! There's another Luciano Pavarotti with Eric Clapton that's good also! I knew James (may he RIP). My ex-husband worked at his house in Beech Island, SC doing electronics work (installing TV's in his Octagon Room) at his home. He was a very kind man, always giving turkeys away at Thanksgiving to people who couldn't afford them, and Toys at Christmas for underprivileged kids. He had a guard-gate at his house, and we went in one day (they had called because he was having issues with the TV room) and when we pulled up to his carport at the house, in front of us was a Rolls-Royce, beside it was a Mercedes Benz and across from his house was a 10-car garage. We never charged him for service calls, so he would leave us tickets for concerts at the guard shack, and he autographed my 45 RPM of this song...still have it. 😉✌
From the recordings and the occasional old film clip, I knew James Brown was a good singer. But it wasn't really until I saw this performance that I realized how good. That sort of little glissando he does repeating the word "train, train, train" while he simultaneously backs off the mike so the there's a decrescendo in the volume...Goddamn, man, that's some masterful shit there, bud!
I did band in middle school and most of high school. Trying to play an instrument could be frustrating, and sometimes the directors and teachers weren't particularly encouraging, but I'm glad I did it. We were just a bunch of bratty kids, but every once in a while, even in our clumsy way, the trumpets and flutes would come in on top of a tympani or something, and you had to be pretty thick not to get some goosebumps. That's just how good the music we were trying to play was; even our crappy little version still sounded pretty good...
Yea, Shon, King James here, JAMES BROWN LIVE IN ZAIRE 1974- THE PAYBACK, AND THE TAMMY SHOW J, BROWN, Trust your eyes will be opened on him, And for Comedy, George Carlin stand up, called Dumb Americans, these are the 2 OG's to reaction to......j
I had an album years ago ( that mysteriously vanished ☹️) and the cover just said JAMES BROWN AND THE JB'S. The JB's being the name of the back up band on the album. Unbelievable musicianship 🔥🔥🎵🎵. That was some of the most outstanding FUNK GROOVES I ever heard in my life. And trust me, that ERA was packed with talent. James Brown not only SANG & DANCED...he did on stage theatrics that were a joy to watch. Good stuff.
Looking for more James Brown? The well is deep, but here's a few of his top hits to check out: "I Got You," "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," "Please, Please, Please," "Get Up I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine," "Say it Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud," Living in America," and "I Got a Feeling."

James Brown, the hardest working man in show business, and the man who saved Boston, meets maybe the greatest human singer ever.

"I Feel Good" is probably his biggest hit! You need to react to it. Bet you've heard it before and didn't know who it was!
Aretha Franklin stood in for Pavorrati once when he was sick. SHE SANG IN ITALIAN!!!!
