I cannot say yes or no about the Irish war of independence because there isn’t much nowadays of Irish history in America, but I can say the average age the soldiers were in the Vietnam War was indeed 17-18, that is why when the war ended the law was put in to let people vote at the age of 18 the same age people can join the military, before that it was 21 to vote. It was a tragic loss for both side. So hearing songs that remind me of wars that occurred makes me wonder what would happen if things turned out differently
