Love that you're out there testing products and reviewing them. If you want to really provide the most valuable after action reports on these items, we need to see/hear about the broadhead integrity post shot, and a full necropsy of the internal organs.
Took a big body western NY buck with the 125 grain hyde this year, dropped within 10 yrds didn't even know he was hit (excellent blood trail not that it was needed). I also keep a couple 125 grain QAD exodus in the quiver for thicker setups with more brush.
Great video as always Dan! I would love to see the new titanium BEAST Brodhead. I shot my 166” buck with a regular BEAST broadhead and loved it, didn’t go 45 yards. I would also LOVE to see the QAD exodus at 125 grains. Thanks!
The entrance hole for both the whitetail fury and Hyde was impressive! I’ve always stayed away from over the top mech due to a smaller entrance wound but these seem to be a little different. Thanks for showing test results
There's a ton of value in videos like this, so keep them coming! A lot of great shooting in this one! A follow up on how the blades held up post shot is necessary for this type of evaluation. Now for what's going to be an unpopular statement... We do need to see what can hold up against heavy bone. I know you don't want to aim to hit bone, but trying to anchor the offside shoulder would be 100% lethal and really put the braodhead to the integrity test.
I got lucky day after Christmas on a 9 point shooting 100 gr beasts. Arrow deflected and shot through back hips. Deer struggled to walk 30 yards and laid down and died. 10 point this year in Kansas went 15 yards after a heart shot with the beast. Price tag isn’t cheap for 2 heads and a practice head. But worth every penny to me.
Welcome to Texas, glad you had a great hunt. Best hunting in the state down in the south. Thanks for the R&D! Would be curious as to your opinions on this style of hunting, compared to what you seem to mostly do in the NW Howdy!
About a year ago, you were looking into Valkyrie broadheads. You even had an interview with either the owner or an associate of Valkyrie, but I never found an updated video of a test. Can you try out the JAGGER BROADHEADS? Almost all the channels I come across do mechanical and if it's not mechanical then it's the same ones over and over again like Iron Will and a few others but I never find any with the valkyrie broadheads. I'm not sure if it's the price or if it's a bad Broadhead, LOL.
Great way to test some broadheads, entertaining but real-world results. I would have loved to have seen you test the SEVR hybrid 1.5 on deer. I know it left a bad taste in your mouth after that elk, but I think it is a phenomenal broadhead for deer. Last season I took two deer with it and was very happy with the results and also the durability of the blades. I am wanting to test the G5 Deadmeat (not the megameat, duribility sucks). My wife used it on her deer last season with a crossbow from the ground it had a full pass through on a hard quartering to shot. I would never have taken the shot but it went the full length of the deer's body and did amazing damage. I would like to see how it does on a compound bow.
Awesome video. Selfishly was looking towards this as I’ve shot a few with the Hyde and loved it. But wanted to try Jekyll as well on deer as I always lean towards fixed for consistent penetration and just simplicity. I’ve harvested deer with micro hades because of your praise for those heads, love them and recommended those to other new archers who have had great results with the micros. Would you guess micro hades and Jekylls similar results? Those are the 2 I would like to load up with in quiver.
What surprised me the most was how big the entrance holes were despite the fact they are over the top style mech. My buddy killed a bull with the Hyde this year. Performed very well
Its funny seeing a buck being one handed dragged back to the truck. Those Tx deer are small, but I live in Ks where a good buck can hit upwards of 250lb. They dont drag easy!
Man how do I find a trip like that 😂. Awesome video and definitely going to take a look at the whitetail fury! Also I believe I remember you doing the mega meat on a previous trip to Texas. How would you compare it against the whitetail fury? Thanks!
Man hunting these types of responsive bucks in the rut, in broad daylight rattling and grunting them in has to be the most fun you can have bow hunting whitetails. Especially on the ground. High fence, low fence, feeders or not whatever it is, its still bow hunting, and theyre still cagey whitetails!
It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison of some of the smaller proven penetrating broadheads like QAD, Microhades or even tooth of the arrow vs some larger mechanical like the whitetail fury or beast. Compare blood trails, distance travelled, etc. I had surprisingly good blood on a deer with the 1” tooth of the arrow this season. Not sure if it was a fluke but would like to see some more evidence.
These intrigued me but ive always wondered about how they would do on qaurtering shots with the blades in line with the tip. I have stuck with grim reaper for that reason but obviously that was not an issue here!
@@rigginutsit's performance is going to be at the top of the list.. It's a proven BH by many.. We need to see others that aren't used as much or are new to the market.
Liked your quote “reps in the red zone “. I need this as I’m not able to get a lot of tags in my home state but I want the practice so I can make opportunities count. Any suggestions on finding an affordable place in Texas to shoot does/management bucks?
I used a Whitetail Fury to harvest a big 8pt this past October. Shot was back and only got liver and guts, Deer bedded down within 30 yards and died rather quickly. I can only say that the devistation of the wide whitetail fury, must have cut a main artery to put it down so fast on a poorly placed shot. Lots of blood. The fury will be the only broadhead I ever use on whitetail.
Test the slick trick 4 blades 100s with 1 1/4 inch cut. Shot several elk with them. Complete pass throughs at 60 lbs They went 50 yards running before they died. Both of these bulls were shot with the same head, all I did was resharpen the blades
Shot a big buck in the TX Panhandle this year with the Mega Meat and I have never seen so much devastation...love to see it compared to the Whitetail Fury!
Cool video. I just wonder when we will get over the broadhead content? It's always the same game, some great, some good, some shit. The never ending pay to play hunting system for content creators, continuing to beat the dead horse year after year.
Love the video and really appreciate the transparency of why you love going to Texas. I shot a Midwest whitetail buck with the Hyde and was disappointed by how chewed up the mechanical blades were. What were you seeing for blade damage post shot?
But did it do it's job? I don't really see the point of ppl getting all particular about the damage to a mechanical BH. What were you expecting the outcome to be?
@ if you could have one that stays together vs one that doesn’t, wouldn’t you want the one that stays together? I hit nothing but ribs and the blades were bent. If I hit part of the scapula, would they fall apart?
With the hybrid design the fixed blade on the front will help on shoulder hits and the wide blade on the fury will help in cutting through anything that gets in the way. I commented above, but I shot a buck this past October with the fury, poor placement, hit only liver and cuts, full pass through, but the wide cutting blade for sure must have hit an artery because the buck died within 30 yards. Lots of blood. And as seen in the video, a 2-3/8" cut getting consistent passthroughs says alot. The first buck was quartering away pretty hard and it pretty much went the entire length of the deer and came out with velocity on the off side.
Love that you're out there testing products and reviewing them. If you want to really provide the most valuable after action reports on these items, we need to see/hear about the broadhead integrity post shot, and a full necropsy of the internal organs.

The Beast titanium broadhead would be interesting to see.
I have been eyeing the evolution heads for a while so super excited to watch this!
I’m really liking the 125 heads. They have worked great for me this year. Fly super well too
Great video especially the post harvest evaluation. Great deer to take out of the for management purpose .

Best broadhead test video hands down!
Great shots 🔥
Real world broadhead testing for the win!! Sounds like a great place based on your description.
Man I love my state!!! Those Broadheads did awesome and y’all killed some nice bucks, great vid.
Nice work Dan hope you and yours had a great Christmas and a Happy new year.
Bro that first buck scene!! Texas dream scenario rattling in rutty bucks from the ground
Grim reaper Mini Mag has been on my radar for awhile. would love to see some results! Love the videos man, keep grinding!
Starting 2025 with 50LBS of less body fat and debt free. It was tough but worth it! Keep doing the Awesome Vids!

Great work Dan, especially self filmed. I know how tough it is!
You should do a lot more of these videos Dan that was awesome!🏹🦌 The beast titanium would be cool to see!
please put your bow specs used for these broadheads. FOC, total weight, bow draw and poundage, etc. Thanks!

I didn't know about this brand of broadhead until this video I will have to try the whitetail furry thanks for the video
Yep, blue looks awesome on video!!

Bomar now hunting is loaded with tests
Not condemning yet - No test of any Broadhead of any Brand is realistic out of a 80 lb Bow. Most Hunters do well to shoot 60-65.
@@philfancher3652 then most should work harder to get on the level 🤷🏻♂️. I did, you can too.
I've got 4 roosevelt bulls worth of data from 2024 on the 2" hyde. Great results, 3 pass throughs

Beast titanium and Levi Morgan shwacker for next time!
