Following Tom throughout his career(blink through angels back to blink) I think this is my favorite era. That 2007-09 I-Empire era. Those g star jackets. 2007/08 was the pinnacle of Angels & Airwaves imo.
Muan a yes it is. Listen starting at 4:00. You can hear the ‘room noise’, or the ‘environment,’ around them. Clearly they are outside so room noise is minimal. And if you’ve ever engineered a live show, then you’d know about all the FX that are placed on ones voice during the show; even before the live tracks go into post production. When they take those audio clips, you’ll still hear the FX and noise which are picked up in the microphones. It’s called live tracking by the way. They use the audio from the concert in post production to put together this B-roll footage for people. It wouldn’t make sense to put audio from his studio recording in to the B-roll. Nobody does that. Also it wouldn’t sync up to the video properly. Research how live tracking works and then rebuttal my response.

Funny how all the other bands were live except AVA, which was overdubbed with the studio recording. Probably cuz Tom was trash singing again.Also, im surprised they invited AVA and played The War, which is an anti-war song. Weird
Punk Church anti war and anti military are 2 different things and it isn't anti war, it's just staging war is hell on u, and u leave with scars, mental and physical. War is bad, but it's neccisary
I felt like War was more about the mental effect you go through enduring it, descriptive verses about the battlefield and the chorus concluding "Why won't you tell me that , it's almost over. Why must this tear my head inside out" Also I remember a video a while back of Tom saying someone at the airport stopped him to was in the military and thanked him for making that song. I imagine that happened alot, since the song seems to be about the person stuck in the war rather than an anti-war statement overall. I could be wrong, of course

Angels & Airwaves had an opportunity to be something extremely amazing, but Tom’s selfishness destroyed the brand. Movies, toys, animations, books, comics...etc. We didn’t want any of that. Well, I certainly didn’t anyway. What we wanted was new music and world tours. Something that we haven’t been given in such a long time, and by the look of how things are going, we’re not going to be getting that any time soon. If you can prove me wrong, go right ahead.
AVA's "Heaven" is one of the best songs ever made. Still get goosebumps every time I hear it.
