In this video a subway train is going out of service, The enthusiastic & persistent subway operator Warns & Warns Passengers to get off the train or they will be stuck on it.
There is always that one passenger that didn't hear him, didn't understand him or was sleeping. He didn't curse or personal insult anyone so I see nothing wrong with being blunt!
Its funny though. I sometimes don’t understand how people sleep on the subway when the time on the subway is limited. Its not a train to Ottawa or Montreal its just a brief jump around through the city a bit
Yeah lol I heard this exact same thing on the Washington DC subway, except the operator told passengers about the early service termination like 5 stops in advance and repeated it about 75 times. This is pretty standard practice.
My guess is that he's had some person before stay on the train after it went out of service and he had to deal with it so now he makes sure everyone knows that they are expected to remove themselves from the train.
+cal920c yea here in Vancouver i see people staying on the skytrain even when its the last station. its harmless most of the time because the train goes back into service and begins its line again.
Sam Savinainen Oh man, I LOVED riding the Skytrain! I wish that they wouldn't have messed with the design for Toronto, the Scarborough RT could've been something done right for once!
@@markymark443 Hes literally explaining to all passengers to leave the train at christie station due to delays. because his train will go out of service.
he seems to be really making a point about getting off the train.. they are probably fed up with idiots staying on board , to high or drunk or tripping or something else to move . or just don't want to move and want to go somewhere else.
I expected some colorful language when I read the title. At least he was good enough to make sure everyone knew to get off the train, lest they take an extended ride to nowhere.
Uhhh.... that's not how you put a train out of service on the TTC. The driver must get out of their cabin and walk through the entire train, checking every car for sleeping/deaf/headphone-wearing passengers.
sc0tte1 They may not actually HAVE the time...but those ARE the rules... at least as PUBLICLY stated... (Unless the train is being turned around...and even then...it happens...)
I've been on trains that are being short turned and they don't walk the train when they take it out of service. They count on the passengers getting out. Most of the time when ones goes out of service in the middle of the say it's because they are turning it back because of a delay somewhere on the line so they don't have trains bunching up at the ends of the line with nothing on the other direction.
The sad thing is, it doesn't matter how much you tell people, there will always be someone not listening who will stay on board. I know from experience - 5 years driving different metro trains! At least he IS telling people as most drives don't care.
Where did you drive metro trains? It wasn't Washington DC, was it? If so, do you know how long it takes one of those trains to stop? How many meters or seconds? Not like, the regular stopping, but emergency stopping?
Train operators do this all the time, their is absolutely no problem here. I've seen people sitting in their seats tell he says you will be stuck in the train for an hour.
Sadly the train operator has to say ..if you dont get off you will be stuck on here for over an hour... to get some people to move there butts, still nothing out of the normal.
Skywalker865 they do but since Christie isnt a normal terminal nor having a layup track, the TTC workers cant look through because it will back up traffic so they just hope when they pull outthat everybody heeded the warning and got off
It's the motors themselves making the noises. They make that noise when accelerating or decelerating. Edit: The traction motor itself is the Siemens P2000. They're used in New York City's late R110A trains, and the Los Angeles Metro Rail light rail vehicles.
You better change the name of your title of this video because the train driver didn't warn anybody he said what he had to say and just like the trains sometimes let me shut down and you got to take another train you don't understand how people have to be driving the train more than 12 hours sometimes 16 hours don't you understand and comprehend
Hmmm, poor Torontonian passengers altogether being short-shrifted .. what with being not only badgered at yet also THREATENED .. where was any route manager, physically taking peeks into each carriage and thereby ensuring the rake becoming emptied? Les Montréalais/es never short-turn trains like that. Poor Torontonians, I cannot believe the abundance of videographed crap occuring all around the now under-used-looking TTC network there :(
Yup, that's bold. Speaking loudly and directly is fine with me, but you should cap it off with a "we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you".

😭goodbye train this train will only go one more station to christie to Christie station the train will be not in service and Christie will be the final stop
So what would have happened if you didn't get off the train in that short time? Would you get thrown off at the nearest station when you're discovered? A Barrie Transit driver was mighty pissed when he discovered me still on his bus half way back to the yard and dropped me off at the spot he learned I was still on his bus.
Sean Sudol What happens is the train will go out of service and if they find that there is anyone still on the train they'll have you arrested for trespassing. Same thing goes for GO Trains.
Fair enough warning. I took my daughter for a walk along Barrie's GO rail yard. We were discovered and one maintenance guy said it's better that he found us rather than GO staff (I guess he was contracted) and that we'd better leave. I didn't pull that stunt again.
Most likely you'd be stuck on it for an hour until the train next called at a station platform. It's unlikely that the driver/motorman/operator, etc, is going to make a special stop just to throw you off on a subway system. Buses are different however. Once I encountered a First Eastern Counties bus driver (I'm in Norfolk, UK, which is where the incident took place by the way) who went straight past my stop in Wymondham, Norfolk, which was the terminus on the route. I didn't ring the bell as I didn't have to, but after I noticed the bus failing to stop I immediately hit the "STOP" bell. This resulted in the driver pulling over at the next suitable location to drop me off, he opened the doors and I left the bus there. After passing that stop, his bus was technically "Not in Service", and he was heading to the bus garage at that point. The driver apologised but explained that he didn't know I was still on the bus as I didn't ring the bell, and he wasn't expecting someone to be going to that stop at that time of night so he didn't stop. This was presumably to save time in order to get down to the bus garage for booking off time. To be fair I did ask to be dropped off ASAP by pressing the "STOP" bell, so the driver did nothing wrong in stopping ASAP, in fact he was required to do so under company policy which prohibits a bus driver from carrying anyone on a bus that is not in service, especially intentionally.
I believe a recorded message plays "please stand clear of the doors" when the subway departs, but the conductor/driver can announce over the loudspeakers too
haha at least he warned them. My friend got on an out of service train and she didn't know where she was going. They found her and had to take her back.
