Love the change in Zuko's crew being the division he saved. Also my take on the whole Gyatso thing is that it was really him. Remember that he mentioned most of the others passed along to the afterlife but Gyatso remained knowing Aang needed him eventually. Gyatso does his thing and gives him words of wisdom and closure. Aang asked if he can come back and talk about it more and Gyatso had to lie just not disappoint and then after, Gyatso finally goes into the afterlife.
I really enjoyed more dialogue between Ozai and Zuko; Ozai's twisted perspective making him seem like (in his mind) that he's a good father is a nice touch.
Love ur takes have seen so many people just hating on the series because its not a 1 to 1 of the original, its nice to see another person come in open minded like myself. Cant wait to see what u think of the finale
While I still like him as a villain in the animated show, I like that we get to see more of Ozai's character in this adaptation; something that he felt lacking in the first two seasons
I have seen some complaints about Rokus portrayal in this new show. They certainly made him a bit more relaxed and comedic than his original incarnation, but I don’t think it really disrespected his character like others seem to think. They did still have him be serious in moments and had some dialogue that hinted at his backstory that we’ll see retold in this show. And I actually quite enjoy it a bit, because it goes to highlight how different Avatars can be from one another despite being reincarnations of one another. Because yeah, in the original show the four Avatars Aang talked to; Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, and Yangchen, did act quite similar when talking to Aang, even if we know how different their personalities actually were from one another, so I think it’s a reasonable change.
I think they should have given that attitude to the water nation avatar, to be honest. As much as I love this Netflix show, the portrayal of Roku was butchered.
I totally don't think they have disrespected Roku. I mean, yeah, in the OG show he is not as lighthearted as he is here, but that is because he is meant to be Aang's primary guide when it comes to become the Avatar, just like normally each Avatar is guided by their immediate predecessor. However, we have to consider Roku as a person and, for what it is known of him, he did had a fun side that he balanced with his more serious side.
I've watched a lot of reactors online, and some of them nitpick every scene of every episode. It's almost as if they think they will lose credibility if they aren't hard on the series. I prefer to consider NATLA as it's own thing. If I had never heard of the animated series before watching NATLA would I still find it compelling enough to keep watching it anyway? The answer for me is a resounding yes! And since I enjoy the story, minor issues like questionable CGI, or moving elements of the story from one season to another don't really matter so much to me, as long as the storyline serves the plot. That plot change where Zuko's crew are the same division that Ozai was planning to sacrifice I think was a stroke of genius. It gives the soldiers motivation to be there with Zuko instead of feeling animosity for being the banished crew of a banished prince.
It was faster than I thought! But anyway I'm here! I have some thoughts about the next episode and wanna see your opinion about that, so... See you in the future!

Btw... That idea of Zuko's crew being those he saved by going against Ozai's plan WAS SIMPLY AMAZING! I love it
It was a great moment!
Agreed. Really nice touch

The Agni Kai between Ozai & Zuko did not disappoint!
I agree! This whole episode didn’t disappoint.
I was waiting for it.

Seeing Arden Cho as June was so good! Hope she comes back. Lol
I remember her from Teen Wolf.
This episode is pretty much "EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!"
I was waiting for this one!
