Pit the pinion in the freezer overnite, heat the bearing in the oven at 400 for a half hour. Drop the bearing on the pinion, no pressing. Don't forget the shim

does this not add unnecessary stress to the bearing that could form cracks over time?

@@iReinTV Not at all. Much higher temps achieved during manufacturing process. 400 isn't enough to change the molecular structure of the material.

Red loctite is for permanent installation and never again meant to be removed. You should use Blue loctite instead.

I agree with you. Red locktite will require some heat to loosen back up.

PROJECT FARM did a comparison on blue vs red locktite... there wasnt a world of difference between the 2 red/blue lock tite when it came to taking them apart... not much difference at all... a few ft #'s?

Hi Jerry. Thanks for your tutorials. I'm having one heck of a time with my Jeep cranking but not turning over and guages not working. I can bypass the ASD and jeep starts and guages work no problems. You posted a video with your buddies jeep having the same issue. His was the blown fuse. Mine not so simple. 2002 TJ 2.5L. ASD working as it should, getting correct voltage and getting continuity from ASD to PCM. The relay is good. Checked all fuses, they're good. Checked all wires on that circuit and getting 12V. 5v circuit is reading 4.51V other than a bad PCM is there anything else that would cause the ASD relay to fail? Really appreciate your time into reading this and helping me out.

ahhh the joy of having axle on a bench... in a well lit... warm shop. not under the vehicle in driveway because garage monkey used impact on the ring gear bolts on nice EATON limited slip differential gear install and figured... its tite enuf.... and the ring gear bolts fell out 3 and poked hole in diff cover and ... oil leaked out and nice limited slip Eaton diff and bearings... all bearings... ruined now. no thread lock or torque wrench used by shop monkey on my NICE EATON LIMITED SLIP differential that only lasted

What pinion depth tool did you use?

That appears to be a Ratech tool. I’m not a big fan of them. Unless you’re setting up an empty housing, there’s no need for a pinion depth tool. Start with the OEM pinion shim and adjust accordingly.
