I have both the IMX Pro 966 and the new Zodias 7'9" XH, love them both. I use the Zodias primarily on single hooks swimbaits like the Burrito, Hud's etc. The 966 is a do all rod. Thanks for sharing the videos you do. I really enjoy your stuff. I am 72 yrs old and still learning, yet smart enough to know I can learn from alot of people. thank you
I just ordered one. I chose it over the Expride 8' xxh. I saw so much good feedback on the Zodias and it was $50 (US) cheaper (both rods were discounted 25%). This is my first foray with swimbaits, so the lighter power and more moderate action should work on the few baits I own -- Savage gear line throughs, Bacca Burritos, and S-Wave glides, which fall in the 1 -4 oz range.
its suchhhh a size bait. I catch a lot of smaller fish on it, which isn't the end of the world because it keeps me entertained, but every year a couple of my biggest come on it as well.
@@LadyBass I’ll have to see if I can snag one or trade one of my other pizz for one . Especially now that it’s cooling down they’re feeding up . They look sweet and his paint is so crazy nice
Thanks for the look at the Zodias for larger swim baits. Does Aaron do any creek fishing with light equipment. Miss the days of your live with him and Seth.
Awesome video! I own the 7'5" heavy and 7'6" medium heavy glass zodias rods. I am trying to decide if I should get the 7'9" or 7'10" extra heavy zodias for throwing glide baits around 3-4 oz. I see the 7'9" is rated for 5oz while the 7'10" is rated for only 2oz?
What would you (anyone) consider the lower lure rating for the 7-9 XH? I know it's rated up to 5oz max. Curious what the the effective lower limit would be. Have the 7-2MH and the 7-1H+F Zodias rods currently. I don't throw larger swim/glides as much, but my 7-10H St. Croix Bass X just feels heavy and I don't love the 20" handle length, while my other Zodias are virtually perfect in this area. Considering switching this out. Thanks!
Great video! Could I ask what you think of this rod compared to an Expride 7"6" Heavy? I'm in the market for a new rod and unsure if the Expride would work for punching and swimbaits?
That expride is a great jig and texas rig rod! Definitely my go to. As for using it for swimbait, it will definitely work, but i would use any swimbaits over 2oz, i dont think it would handle it too well.
Looks the, biz. Just had, a look online can get it here in uk. 7ft 9in mh £130 that's a steal. Early Christmas present for me😂 Keep up the good work LB

Love how the red/black looks on the Zodias. Got one paired with a DC.
Man I need to try a baby carp glide . That color is one of my favs so natural

Love the Zodias Swimbait rod. I just picked up an Expride 7'11 XH that I am looking forward to trying with some big Swimbaits as well.
Awesome have fun!

Are you sponsored by shimano? Do you own the ultima?
Does the imx pro 965 handle top hook style swim bait pretty well??
How does it compare to a Dobyns champion XP 794 or 795?

The Zodias's styling is my favorite of the 3 featured.
Great information. Bassmd

I'm kind of wanting a rod that could also be a pike rod as well.

Thanks so much for the advise and quick response!
