Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava, is the most important figure in Tibetan Buddhism. "Padmasambhava" is a Sanskrit term which means ‘Lotus-born’. In the Seven-Line Prayer, the most famous supplication to Guru Rinpoche, it is mentioned that “You are renowned as the ‘Lotus-born’”, indicating that Guru Rinpoche is not born like a human from a father and mother. In this teaching, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche discusses the devotion to Guru Rinpoche from people around the world and reveals the true meaning of the ‘Lotus-born’.

Same here. Initially after seeing idol in Hemis I thought it id Buddha. Now I started exploring Guru Padmasambhava
Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. In Pidhauli (Vaishali) the local deity is Bardiha Baba. Bardiha means the Baba who didn't allow us to stay where he was staying. Bardiha Baba is the Buddha no doubt because he didn't allow the crowd of Lichavies to stay with him in Bandagama. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to Buddhists.

Guru Rinpoche is the most important for all Tibetans, people shall read his stories and teachings. His immense contribution for Tibet, therefore we shall never forget and pray to him all the time.

I dont know you, but do understand you,. No-one beliefs that Jezus was born out of a virgin!, still He was! and He roze from the dead! So; why should we not believe that The Buddha was born out of a lotus?,..Ofcaurse he did, and so are we,.,..our awakening is the opening-up, the birth of the full-blossumned lotus! Our raise from the dead samsara into the land of nirvhana,....

For the buddhas liberate in four ways - through seeing them, hearing them, touching them, and then simply recollecting them ie bringing them to mind aka thinking of them; if this is done without any doubt during a time of distress, the suffering will be quelled immediately - on the spot - instantaneously 🙏🙏🙏

If I said I am guru rinpoche reincarnated - nobody would believe, cause they Assumed, think , he is their Idea -form, if you search for him, how will you know? A sword in a cave? Sounds like a trap - if guru rinpoche revealed himself, the chances are their are heretic who wants him dead. But as I said, even if know who he is, you think he forgotten the past where he was betrayed by his fellow monks, who was jealous , selfish, greed, when he wanted to link two kingdoms together but one monk was so pessimistic, wanted the teachings to himself, assuming that someone else will steal it, so a war broke, all cause some monk wanted to be scared of what does not belong to him…….what make you think guru rinpoche wants to go back to a place he got betrayed? 😂 but that’s too much of an egotistical statement, right ? 😂

Lotus born is a kind of fairy tale.
Back then, it was all fairies. Angels, demons and many saints.

Guru Rinpoche is NOT lotus born. He was left on the giant lily leaf in the pond by his mother;his mother was going to attend rituals and she left her baby there, after the rituals,she remembered her baby and went to the pond but her baby was taken away by the king's minister of Urgyen. He wasn't even 8 yrs old, probably a few months old.No one knew his exact name !😂😂😂😂
So that's what it takes to attain perfect awakening for the sake of completely and irreversibly ending all suffering for all beings?
Just being abandoned by one's mother?
Then all I need to do is go down to the orphanage and I'll encounter miraculous displays of enlightened activities?
Nobody will believe your disrespectful and egoistic lies....If you think Jesus rose from the dead then why can't Padma Sambhava can born from lotus.... anyways stop creating false... disrespecting other religions doesn't make yourself cool and your religion better
