it's available to order in AWD not strictly rwd, also worth noting is that the 2022 also has heated seats and steering wheel. Great overall breakdown of the vehicle though, very helpful.
I have a question Charlie im thinking of getting the 2022 model but cant decide between california or premium what do u think? Whats the difference? Last year it didnt had heated steering and seat but now it does so im loving the california one i want long range hut also fast 0-60 at least 4 to 5 sec
@@jcherrax I'm still doing my homework on the CR1 and I haven't been able to find one on the lot yet to compare. From what I understand you gain a little more range with the features the Premium has over the CR1 are ventilated seats, a better audio system, power lift gate and Projector LED headlights vs Reflector LED headlights on the CR1 and of course your save $2300 on the CR1. Out of all of that the only thing that matters to me would be the better headlights for driving in difficult weather. I'm still up in the air on it until I can see a CR1 in person.
Great tutorial video. My girlfriend has one coming next month. California Route 1 model. She sold a Dodge Challenger Hemi gas hog to help pay for the Mach-E… the future is bright.

One thing you glanced over in the rear cargo area, the floor can drop to a lower position still leaving space underneath for the charger and inflator and giving a bit more cargo space. I can fit a pride go-go lx scooter disassembled under the rear cover.
I learned something from your video, the driver side seat has lumbar support but the passenger side seat is all manual. And, I've had my MME-CR1 for over 2 months! Thanks!
@@vincentjoyce5100 I saw one in passing a few weeks back and hoping to be able to review one in the next month. The power these things have is great - it'll be crazy to see how Ford's next gen EVs perform in comparison
We were looking at the cal 1 but went premium instead. No power lift gate and a basic sound system was a deal breaker. Only thing that sucks is the waiting time. About 5 months to get here
It's odd that Ford didn't open up that added tech for the Cali as well, but you'll love that premium trim! 5 months is a while but great that you went factory order route to get exactly what you wanted. Is the Mach E your first EV or have you owned an EV or hybrid before?
My understanding is it just makes contact with the screen instead of being a physical dial, which sucks if something happens to the screen. I would rather have the smaller screen with physical knobs for climate and radio.
Good vid. I've narrowed my choices down to the Mach E Premium ER AWD and the Tesla Model 3 LR. Which EV would you recommend for Canadian winters (Toronto)? I'd require the EV for two child seats and golf clubs. Not intended for road trips. I would also be doing the majority of charging at home. Also, there are no EV incentives in Ontario.
I haven't been in the Tesla lineup yet so can't speak on the winter performance there. Typically winter driving won't get as many km but if range is a concern for you go for Tesla Dual Battery or Mach-E Extended Range There are some incentives we can take advantage of in Ontario. If the selling price is under $55,000 you're eligible for a federal rebate up to $5k and regardless of the cost you can write off the full capital cost in the first year of ownership if you're a business
@@CarsWithSteve after watching numerous RUclips clips (primarily Munro Live), I finally decided on the Model 3 LR. Longer range, proven EV, cheaper and delivery date in Feb/2022.
@@twoglovesgolf66 Thanks for dropping by again and sharing your reasons why. Hopefully the Mach E will have some great improvement by the time you're ready to trade in
What if you have very small eyes and the system thinks you're always asleep? Is there a way to override that, or will that person need to return the car?
Hopefully there's enough of a demand for it throughout 2022 so they add it to the 2023. You could look at the Premium trim and then do some aftermarket badges though to get that 10 speaker B&O system
About 12 mins in the video, it shows 419 kms of range with a 98% battery life...I thought the California Route 1 trim has a range of 502 kms of range. 2% of charge won't suddenly add 83 kms of range, will it? 👀🤷🏻
Don't forget that what you're doing with the vehicle will alter the range. Sitting with the heat/AC going, fast acceleration etc will adjust the range dynamically. I believe this one was also the 2021 model and the 2022 had a bump in available range edit: great catch though!
I personally don’t understand the lower options that ford is selling with this trim level at a higher price… Manual lower speaker quality just so they save around 10-12 miles? Premium Extended is way better on pricing
Pricing compare to the Premium is spot on.. I'd go Premium over California. It's to ease people who have a bit of range anxiety, not that the Premium AWD Extended Range isn't far off 🤷
The Cali Route 1 is going through a few small changes for 2023.. but the 2 trim levels are going to be very close to one another. Going to be a matter of whether you like the extra badges of the CR1 or not!

The thing watching your eyes off above the steering wheel, not the motion sensor on the ceiling.
Part of the tech package for Blue Cruise is it not?
