    The music used for this demonstration sounds like it belongs in the game Descent 3.

      Well, the creation of Robotech VF-1S Valkyrie 3D printing model was inspired by Macross Japanese anime series. The anime tells the story of a love triangle that unfolds during the first Human-alien war. Just as Descent 3, this science fiction mecha anime takes place in outer space and creates a futuristic atmosphere.

    Can you elaborate about the "pla pins" needed? Are they in the files that need to be printed?

    • @Gambody_com
      @Gambody_com  4 года назад +4

      No, what is meant here is that you would need short pieces of 1.75 PLA to make pins in order to assemble some of the model’s parts. The pins do not come in STL files - you may use your regular 1.75 PLA and cut off short pieces of needed length. Detailed assembly manual in PDF format kindly provided by the author of the model comes with any model’s STL file where the 3D artist explains in detail the procedure. Please, contact us at support@gambody.com if you have any additional questions

    Now the site shows that the files are for FDM printing. Is it possible to print this on a resin printer? I would love to print, build and paint this as a Christmas present for my father but only have a resin printer!

      We highly appreciate your interest in Macross Robotech VF-1S 3D printing model and are truly pleased to know you consider getting the model to make a Christmas present for your father. Well, the core idea of the model’s design is that it comes as articulated as possible. The model indeed comes with only one version available - FFF/FDM one. However, if you happen to purchase it, you still will be able to print it on your resin 3D printer and make a great present!
      The default one-version option is based solely on practical aspects. You see, since VF-1S is a transformer itself, it was made sure that each robot’s part is articulated which allows the model's transformation. As it is indicated in the assembly video, the model comprises lots of printing elements (105 parts to be precise) which were worked out to achieve optimum articulation of the robot. What is more, the VF-1S 3D printing model comes at a recommended chosen scale which is 1/45. These are just default characteristics that enable enthusiasts to achieve optimum results after printing. Since resin 3D printing technology is good when it comes to printing accurate elements, you can easily get down to fulfilling your idea and have the model 3d printed. In case any of the parts seem to fail to be placed on the printing bed of your printer, you will have to downscale the model slightly (make sure you do that proportionally for all the parts).
      We hope our comment was of use for you, however, if you require any further information, please contact us at support@gambody.com or via Facebook messages and we will be happy to assist you!

    has the file been updated by any chance for sla printing? I don't have filament... can I make the pins?

    • @Gambody_com
      @Gambody_com  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for asking!
      The Robotech VF-1 "Super Veritech" Valkyrie model is adapted and optimized for FFF/FDM printers because the flexibility and rigidness of plastic materials used for FFF/FDM printers can guarantee proper articulation of the 3D printing parts. Such a construction is not suitable for resin 3D printers and can lead to assembly issues due to the fragility of the resin-printed parts. You have an option to use FFF/FDM files for your resin 3D printer if you wish. There are a few things to keep in mind though. You may need to file down certain connectors for smoother assembly, and it's advisable to glue some parts to enhance durability.
      As for the pins, we recommend using a wire or a paper clip instead of filament, as specified in the FFF/FDM Assembly instructions.
      Please let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance!
