Fun fact, the CGI of the swimming Xenomorph in Alien Resurrection was animated by Blue Sky Studios years before they would make their first animated film debut with Ice Age.
"You blow here, I'll do the fingering" -David With that said, in Prometheus when the crew goes with Weyland to the ship to wake the engineer; when they do Elizabeth starts talking first and asking the important questions. You can see although he doesn't quite understand her he's patient, he's listening to her comfortably. Then Weyland cuts in after having his guard slam a rifle stock into her stomach... The engineers entire demeanor changes, and he realizes humans are still vile and violent creatures. The engineer does seem kind of shocked and impressed when David starts speaking his language until touching David and realizing David is not a creation of the engineers. Insulted with David's existence and Weyland thinking he deserves immortality, the engineer rips off David's head to kill Weyland with, and continue his mission to earth. Also David didn't create the xenomorph. The mural exists on the ship for a reason and is before covenant. Plus in Alien the ship Ripley's crew find is different, and that engineer (space jockey) had a chest burster come out of it. You're telling me David made them too and is working with the engineers as well at that point in time? Nah. David made a variant of xenomorph by reverse engineering the black ooz.. Which comes from the xenomorph. They're responsible for it but the why, how, where, is the mystery.
Super nice observations, doh we not know what happened with David and the colonists after covenant, doesn’t mean there was no meeting after covenant and before alien where David could’ve a) met somehow an engineer with an ship and got to to put the eggs and chestburster into the engineer or b) that somehow the engineer from alien 1 found the planet where David had his projects and the eggs before a1, with the not knowing engineer taking those with him on the ship, leading to the state it’s in in alien 1. I think you meant Chris with that David didn’t create the xenos, but with covenant we have him improving on the cycle to have them facehuggers hatch from the egg. There’s still the questions of if it is : facehugger by David+human=neomorph while facehugger+engineer=xenomorph, Or if facehugger by David (after further improvements after covenant in third installment)+anything now=xenomorph. So yeah, we NEED a third movie explaining this gap 😂 So much still open and I’m eager to see what a third installment might clarify, but still, nice observations, best was the wetland and David part with the engineer you described ✌️
One thing that I loved about the first Alien after a rewatch was how when they touch the facehugger to try and cut it off you can see the tail tightening around his neck
When artists make a low budget horror = Alien. When a sociapath prints money = Aliens. When the studio interferes and the filmmakers fight back = Alien 3. When the studio interferes and everyone just goes along = Alien Resurrection. When the og gets famous enough to have total control = Prometheus/Covenant. When the next generation takes over = Romulus.
😭basically he did them already in the xmen movies, its kinda like the wolverine movies, love wolverine but his solo movies not really worth reviewing too much imo
I’m not sure Xeno’s were made by David. The one we see in Covenant for one is officially not called a Xenomorph, it’s called a Protomorph because the chest burster is not the same so I believe the Engineers worshipped the classic Xenomorph and David just tried to replicate that to prove he was better.
You are correct. In the novelization it is said that David found a fossilized alien egg and used it as blueprint for his experiments. What we saw in Covenant was just a different variant.
Fun fact: in the og script for the first avatar movie the xenomorph is refrenced by one of the soldiers who land on Pandora, meaning the 2 franchises could still be in the same universe 👀🤷♂️
Yes! Also Blade Runner is implied to being in the same universe as well. The Tyrel corporation and Wayland-Yutani corporation could be rivals. One creates genetically engineered servants, the other creates synthetic robot servants. And the RDA also could fit into the larger space exploration and expedition programs and be itself a rival to wayland and Tyrel as they have their own futuristic robot technology and also Avatars as their equivalent to servants.
@@ParkerCS2 whattttt!? bro no fckn way I had no idea🤯 I've never actually seen blade runner but that automatically makes me interested in watching it now 👀💯

I just wanna say Chris, I absolutely love the work you’ve been doing over the years for us, the film news reports you do always keep us so informed and we can’t help but appreciate it, keep up the good work man we love you.
What are you doing about stupid reactions from these characters. this movie talks about science, religion, humanity, even without connection to the Alien lore, this movie is often dumb!!
@nathansmith8310 and that's because it has to be an alien/slasher movie and stick to the trope of characters making dumb decisions. It it was separated from the franchise and horror genre then it doesn't have to have that.
@gryfon_gamez8184 I'm not saying it shouldn't stick to that kind of horror i'm saying, when you establish that your characters are all supposed to be smart and actually know what the fuck they're doing You kinda ruin any sense of value in most of the characters that they probably already lacked. And also, the first alien movie was kind of like a slasher, except that most of the characters in the first movie actually made smart decisions and they paid for it when they didn't make smart decisions. Like every human does, without the need of constantly making bad decisions.Same with aliens, even though that movie is more action
This has nothing to do with the movie, but I just wanted to say how much your videos help me in regards to when I’ve had a long day or feeling stressed out or whatever, I can put one of your videos on either to binge watch or play in the background and it brings me peace, even if it’s for 10 mins or over an hour (like this video) Thank you for being you, for doing what you love, for being honest, and for not shying away from your humor. You do a lot man, thank you. We all appreciate you and love you man
I remember in real time the promo for Prometheus. It was suspected to be part of the Ridleyverse BUT not as part of the franchise. Ppl went to see it because it was Ridley doing sci fi again. Once the big reveal came in the end THAT’S when the divide happened. Also the cliff scene with Franco was in honor of Ridley’s brother Tony. There’s a few interviews (ha!) about it.
I'm glad we agree on 3 and Resurrection. I totally agree. 3 is like a Walmart take on what the first movie did and turned into a depressing, ugly and unsatisfying cinematic experience. Resurrection is like a Walmart version of Aliens but at least it's still a lot of fun if you embrace the craziness. Plus I love the cast.
Another thing why alien 3 just feels so weird and disjointed is because they didn’t have a fully completed script. They started filming the movie with a half completed script. it’s also been said by a lot of people and documented that there were a lot of times where pages were being wrote on the set of the movie and then handed to David Fincher to shoot. so they had no idea what the story was. They were just writing stuff and then handed it to Fincher so he could shoot what had just been wrote.
One thing I'll say about about the android in Resurrection is she's one of the whatever they're called in Bladerunner since the universes are connected. I also think David is why there was a recall
Prometheus and Covenant are so hared because people missed the point. David is the main character, and creation is the theme. David like, the humans struggles with the idea of "god". David thinks humans are weak, but he know they created him. Humans have no idea who made them. David likens himself to a god and becomes obsessed with the idea of creation. The themes of music from prometheus to the very last scene of Covenant are a motif to the themes of the 2 films. Entry of the gods into Vallhala has a significant importance to the films. That song is about the gods marching to a victory but in reality are really leading themselves to their doom. I love the themes of this movie. It's brilliant.
Does all that really belong in Alien, tho? That's more the issue most people have with the films, it's not hard to understand the themes whatsoever lol
Honestly I would love it if they do another Alien movie with Rain and she ends up meeting up with David cause I think that would be the perfect time to wrap up his story and further develop Rain
David and Andy’s dynamic would also be interesting. Maybe Andy is able to convince David humanity is worth saving and David becomes the David from Prometheus instead of Covenant David where in the former he had a soft spot for Shaw, or Andy ends up being the person to defeat David. Honestly a missed opportunity was that David was the android in Romulus who got blown up by the planet rings instead of CGI Ian Homes.
Letssss goooo And right before I head to sleep 😁 hopefully no facehugger nearby Whats funny after seeing Alien-Aliens u come to realize that Jonsey The Cat survived the entire Alien Franchise since Jonsey never returns after 2 Also Ron Perlman is awesomely funny in Alien resurrection
I’m kinda not interested in seeing David anymore. He was a interesting character in Prometheus, but becoming a generic villain in covenant I didn’t like. And also killing off Elizabeth Saw the only person that gave him kindness and who he respected was stupid. Was out of character for him. Also I don’t like the overexplaining that the engineers and David created the Xenomorphs. It’s not Alien anymore, it’s instead we’re second cousins to the aliens. It’s stupid. Unless if the engineers and David just resurrected the species with the black goo being their long lost dna then I can let it slide. But removing the mystique of aliens that exist by making them a lab creation is terrible.
David didn't create the Xenomorphs, he drew inspiration from the Engineers (the actual creators of them) and created a version of them, the Praetomorph. The novelization confirms this. This adds up with why we see a mural of them in Prometheus. The one on the mural is the Xenomorph that we are familiar with. The Praetomorph is a different variation of them, and not the same species as the original films. The Xenomorph from the original films was around before David and is the one the Engineers had on a mural.
I loved watching this video. It took me back to my childhood when i had the queen alien toy & a bunch of different xenomorph & the flying king xenomorph that never made it in a movie 😢
The way a film franchise becomes a favorite for me is when i love every sequel. I found something to love in every film in the Alien franchise. Including the prequels and i can't wait to see Alien: Prometheus
Goes without saying that I'm with you on Alien Resurrection. It did what I want from Sci Fi horror and horror adjacent sequels like Aliens. Sure i have nitpicks but it's still enjoyable for me
Love your videos, dude. You are funny af 😀P.S. You started my obsession with popcorn buckets. It is rumored that terrifer 3 is getting a popcorn bucket.
Alien Resurrection is actually my third favorite Alien movie after 2 and 1. The first four movies are my favorite to different degrees, and a lot of it has to do with having Ripley in them, she is the Ying to the Xenomorphs Yang, so to speak. I hated the Prometheus storylines and after watching your review, I remember how much I really do despise them and don’t consider them part of the franchise, it really made me sour on the whole franchise after that and maybe that’s why I didn’t like Romulus either. I felt it was just a generic Alien movie that didn’t add anything new to the franchise. I think I’m good with the Alien movies being the first four, and enjoyed the first AVP also for what it was.
1:10:50 it’s better to put it like that David took the existing form and „jumpstarts“ evolution to the point where we saw it. It’s like he took something existing and improved on it, get it, like humans did androids, it’s working so fine honestly. People are too stuck😂
Thanks Chris for doing all 6 movies I haven’t seen Prometheus and Alien Covenant but I will eventually and for those who didn’t enjoy Alien Romulus y’all missing out a awesome movie
I wish they'd make a sequel to Covenant, I think the more psychological, higher than life, meeting your gods storyline is really interesting, I watched Prometheus many times and the lack of Xenomorphs didn't bother me at all... Sure, the characters do some stupid decisions but that happens in a lot of movies in many of which, people don't really mind it...
I just watched the first alien movie few days back and wow visually for that time amazing the only thing that bothered me was the scenes where it was really visible that there is a dude in a rubber suit other than that the close ups of the puppet were amazing
Dang this really helped me understand prometheus way better cause I only saw that movie when it first came out and was confused but I was also like 15 at the time
@@cliffrobinson5943 yeah we should have our reservations. But the fact Noah wasn’t afraid talking about his show not using Prometheus and Covenant tells me he doesn’t care what Scott thinks and not gonna let him boss him around. Also Scott might’ve only slapped his name on show whereas he had direct involvement with Romulus because it’s a movie. But still, I’m not going get my hopes up that Earth won’t get interfered by him. I was optimistic about Romulus until I saw RS ruined the film.
@ParkerCS2 I actually loved Romulus more because of the connection to Prometheus and Covenant. BUT I do trust Noah Hawley because he's an excellent storyteller, no matter the direction he decides to go in here.
@@cliffrobinson5943 I respect you liking Prometheus and Covenant. I wish I could but don’t unfortunately. However, Noah’s Earth series is said to be set before those films in the timeline so it sorta makes me feel better because he’s not bound by those films since his series is before them.
I got an A+ along with extra credit on my 20 page essay, back in college. About the sexual nature and tension and relationship/s with Xenomorphs and I mostly focused on the first Alien film as whole. 3C, I'm glad you mentioned it, but no pun intended, you only just touched the tip bro. Awesome video.
They need to have the finale of the series involve Wayland finally not only getting their hands on the Xenomorph but also discovering positive and negative ways to use it via experimenting . I know they touched on this in Resurrection but now that the technology and effects are so good it would be the perfect time to really expand this Alien/Predator/Blade Runner cinematic universe
29:50 How cool would it have been if Ripley was walking around at the end, immune to the Alien. It gets to the point where Ripley can command it. You know, like a dog. Then Ripley is playing this balancing act of controlling the Alien to escape the prison/prisoners.
1:08:56 i loved Prometheus and alien covenant but when alien Romulus was announced I didn’t expect them or want them to do more of that, I expected old fashion alien movie
I love Prometheus and Covenant, as well as Alien 1, and all movies belong together if you ask me. Yeah right, Prometheus and covenant expand on the lore, but after 4 movies and years and years of having the mystery of xenomorphs/space jockeys it was super satisfying to have more info on the engineers and in general the expansion of the whole franchise world building. Same you see people complain about mcu nowadays vs before, of course in the beginning it feels fresh. But YOU HAVE TO EVOLVE and therefore change things or expand. I would be sad, even doh I love the space ship setting for horror, if any and every alien movie ist just this. Space ship, crew getting slaughtered. Wow. Evolve that ish in any direction
I’ve only seen Alien, Aliens and Alien Romulus… Are the others worth watching? Tbh this might be a hot take but I’d rank them 1. Aliens 2. Alien Romulus 3. Alien
I think the Engineer killed David and was pissed because of their hubris. They basically thought they were equal to the engineers yet obviously inferior
You're not gonna talk about the planet in Prometheus is the same one they landed on in the first alien movie. The ship that blew up at the end is the one with the distress call from first movie
The prequels are interesting and i would like a 3rd to end that trilogy. I want to know what happened next. My ranking Alien Covenant Alien 3 Promethus Alien Resurrection Alien Alien Romulus Aliens

Love your videos, dude. You are funny af 😀P.S. You started my obsession with popcorn buckets. It is rumored that terrifer 3 is getting a popcorn bucket.
16:29 Imma need that popcorn bucket
I’m looking forward seeing the Alien movies
Loving these hour long videos!
Exactly the same for me !
YESS! More than an HOUR long 3C video!
No way! I just got finished with your X-men reviews and then got a notification for this. I clicked right away.
Keep up the GREAT work, you’re my favorite RUclipsr!! 🔥🔥🔥
0:28 bro is scared out of his mind
My introduction to the alien franchise was AVP, but my first proper Alien movie was Resurrection so i do have a soft spot for it.
I just watched the first alien movie few days back and wow visually for that time amazing the only thing that bothered me was the scenes where it was really visible that there is a dude in a rubber suit other than that the close ups of the puppet were amazing
Thank you I honestly didn't understand the opening of prometheius🥴 🙏🏼 but loved the movie and the one after
Chris starts rapping at 0:01
Dang this really helped me understand prometheus way better cause I only saw that movie when it first came out and was confused but I was also like 15 at the time
I’m excited for Alien: Earth! Especially it ignoring Prometheus and Covenant and making the Xenomorphs again mysterious.
Idk about that. I think Scott is producing, so you never know lol
@ParkerCS2 oh that's right. I forgot it took place before anyway. So yeah not likely to reference at all. And yeah I get why people don't like them.
I know they touched on this in Resurrection but now that the technology and effects are so good it would be the perfect time to really expand this Alien/Predator/Blade Runner cinematic universe
can never have enough 3c🙌🏼
Your Dog was concerned 😂 the face it was making was priceless
29:50 How cool would it have been if Ripley was walking around at the end, immune to the Alien. It gets to the point where Ripley can command it. You know, like a dog. Then Ripley is playing this balancing act of controlling the Alien to escape the prison/prisoners.
1:08:56 i loved Prometheus and alien covenant but when alien Romulus was announced I didn’t expect them or want them to do more of that, I expected old fashion alien movie
An hour reviewing all the alien films?!? Let’s goooo
I literally bought the blu-ray box set after romulus came out. This is great lmao
Great job on the video Chris
Ripley… RIPLEY! Rip…..LEY!
I like the theory that David didn't create the xenomorphs, he just happened to RE-create them
I loved this video. Well done Sir!
I’ve only seen Alien, Aliens and Alien Romulus…
Are the others worth watching?
Tbh this might be a hot take but I’d rank them
1. Aliens
2. Alien Romulus
3. Alien
Blasphemous
Love that there are people out there who haven't noticed James Cameron only makes movies that start with A and T
Piranha 2
Xenogenesis
Now with Avatar 3 being Fire and Ash changes things^
I think the Engineer killed David and was pissed because of their hubris. They basically thought they were equal to the engineers yet obviously inferior
It's always a good day when 3c post
You're not gonna talk about the planet in Prometheus is the same one they landed on in the first alien movie. The ship that blew up at the end is the one with the distress call from first movie
53:55 bro looks like homelander here
What an intro!!! Had me rollin
Aliens 🐐
Resurrection is indeed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Prometheus and Covenant don’t do it all lol
The prequels are interesting and i would like a 3rd to end that trilogy. I want to know what happened next.
My ranking
Alien Covenant
Alien 3
Promethus
Alien Resurrection
Alien
Alien Romulus
Aliens
