      @yepdontcarebud 11 месяцев назад +4

      Jones doesn't have the arm strength to match Hyatts speed, the long ball to him should've been a TD.
      It would help if he wasn't always late and would just trust in what he sees to throw it early, but he's never been an anticipatory thrower. He has to see it open, and if you see it open and the ball is still in your hands.. you're late.

    • @lucasmartinez5703

      Even if his arm strength isn't great, it's still important for Jones to have Hyatt out there. He loves throwing to burners.

    Daboll took over playcalling from Mike Kafka after the half. That's what made the difference.
    Kafka has a tendency to either abandon the gameplan too quickly or never adjust to the game. Take last week as an example where Evan Neal desperately needed blocking help from 12 personnel sets. Giants have a good 12 personnel set with Darren Waller and Daniel Bellinger. He just refused to do so. Kafka wanted to be cute and show off his toys even as one gave the other team a TD.
    Kafka is great in the redzone but his playcalling to get up into the redzone has been questionable for basically his entire tenure.

    The first half was definitely quite rough, but Jones carried the team to victory in the 2nd half. He refused to lose and like you said made some legitimately excellent and difficult throws. The one on the run at the start of the 4th was another great throw on the run im surprised you didnt mention. But despite the horrible start, Jones refused to lose and led his team to a victory on the road, which is always hard to do in the NFL even against bad teams.

Everything started to open up for the Giants all of a sudden. Those passes underneath were there for Jones and he was a machine as they scored 4 straight tds. I’m not worried about this offense one bit this year it’s the defense that looked worrisome in this game.

    The Cardinals are not a very good team, but they sure did play well yesterday. Their defense was swarming and QB Dobbs was making play after play. It wasn't just a case of the Giants playing like crap in the first half.

  • @airborneivan
    @airborneivan 11 месяцев назад +5

    If you watch that interception in slow-mo from a different angle, you can clearly see Saquon just had a case of the butter fingers. Hit his hands clean and just went right through. defender never made contact with the ball. As for that deep ball, Jones has the arm strength to put that the ball in front of Slayton, he just didn't. He did it in the Cowboys game too. Not being on the same page and I blame that on Daboll for not playing the starters in the preseason, aside from one series.

    • @QwertyCaesar
      @QwertyCaesar 11 месяцев назад +3

      So many teams are suffering from not playing in the preseason. The league extends the season which causes teams to rest starters more and then takes away a preseason game to compensate. The outcome is quite predictable.

    • @airborneivan
      @airborneivan 11 месяцев назад +2

      @QwertyCaesar seems like this season is worse due to the new cut down rule. Teams are using the 3 preseason games to evaluate the back half of the season and not develop that continuity that's so pivotal to a teams success.
