Hope everyone had a great time this stream! Gutted I had to cancel last minute.
Funnily enough, the next morning I had some personal shizz I had to attend to super early anyway, so it seems the universe sent me tummy ache the night before to forewarn me that my presence would be needed elsewhere.
Rest assured, I will be back on the Forge someday, and in greater numbers too!
The amount of faceless henchmen who are killed by a machine gun fired from the hip makes this movie possibly the pinnacle of 80s action movies.
For reference: Arnold was so big at this point he was the only one who could do these stunts b/c no one was large enough to double him (so goes the lore), and you can drive to the canyons/mountains that surround LA in 30 minutes without traffic, which they pretty much just do.
Maybe it IS all of the those tropes, but you have to appreciate a thing done well.
I do want to watch this one, I know it inspired many action games.
The jet airliner is going to "San Marcos" a fictional nation, Matrix is going to a fictitious island in the Channel Island archipelago, a real place.
2:05:04 oh this house of dragon talk about earning ones paitence didnt age well
Marc's forge film list will quickly end up with 100's of film to watch while working out.
A good problem to have!
What these guys don’t know is that Die Hard was originally written as a sequel to commando. Arnold turned it down, then Bruce Willis signed on and they turned it into Die Hard.
Hadnt seen this movie before. Ah yeah this was the best kind of bad movie
I like JediBrooks, but there was a definite feeling that he didn't like the movie. Everyone else seemed able to say "this is weak, this is ridiculous, etc" and still accept and enjoy the movie on its own terms. Towards the end some of the things Jedi said made me wonder if he had wanted to trash the movie but didn't because everyone else clearly liked the film. He may not be the best guest for goofy, cheesy, or corny movies that you aren't going to tear apart, if he can only appreciate films that take themselves seriously.
But I could be way off on my observations. I enjoyed the stream and look forward to others!
Fucking turn Jedi's volume down! He's already awful as a creator, does his volume really have to go to 11?!? Fuck.
he's like barely louder than the other guys, what are you on about
