I think the flamesatgames animation is the most well executed AU, the sprite work and music make it seem like something in the actual game, and the animation looks like gameplay. Though the music is reliant on timing and wouldn't work in game, and what the came before and after the animation can be really bad at times. Also calling this the "Disbelief OST" isn't correct, because one of the tracks isn't even original.

This man just went through five stages of grief Phase 1 = Depression He's depressed because Sans died. Phase 2 = Anger He wants to kill the human. Phase 3 = Bargaining He tries to rebuild his life by hallucinating his friends. Phase 4 = Denial He basically gives up. He can't believe Sans died. And when he dies.. Acceptance. He accepts Sans is dead, so he dies with Sans.
Coming from someone who came from almost 5 years ago, TikTok reminded me of this AU due to people there using phase one for edgy stuff. It felt so refreshing when I searched this up one more time. I am now back in the fandom hoping to see changes from 2017. I think disbelief has the most accurate representation to papyrus, more than any other fan game, comic, or animation. If you look at the misconceptions about papyrus, like him hating puns, being naive to what death is, and having no capabilities in fighting this game represents how all of those are false. Example, in undertale papyrus makes about 14 different puns as to sans' 6, he mentions thst you killed his friends and that he know what death is, unlike how some thing of his knowledge of death is minimal to none, and shows that he is capable of fighting well. Another thing this does right is show that papyrus can use gaster blaster without issue as shown if you spare him in the genocide run and go on a date where he says thst his special attack would have "blasted you away" In short disbelief is one of, if not the most accurate representation of papyrus' character. I have this kind of theory that this song/fight happens when theres a human that falls behind you? Like somehow papyrus comes back and he gets there in time to see sans die and watch you walk in and defeat the king then jumps in and starts beating you. Or maybe he fights directly after sans?
I may not be as big as of an undertale fan as I was then, but I have to admit. You have put in a lot of this. You and your crew of pals making this show is truly amazing.
Phase 1 = Sadness Phase 2 = Anger Phase 3 = Commerce (That desire that wants to bring him/her back) Phase 4 = Acceptation This is our Disbelief. What's Disbelief? Disbelief it's a "Life Phase". When someone that you loved (like a dog) died,You will start 5 Phases 1. Shock (When papyrus found dead sans) 2. Sadness (You will miss him/her too much and you think it's *YOUR* fault.) 3. Anger (You want to destroy who killed your friend) 4. Commerce (You will sacrifice *ANYTHING* if you want to bring he/she alive even if it's an Illusion 5. Acceptation (You get it. It's our destiny to die,and even if you miss he/she,You accept that he/she died.)
Fun fact: You can give Mercy to disbelief in Phase 1 and 4 in their ending; This avoids the real fight and skipping Phase 2 and 3 Whilst Sans; He dunks you on when you give him Mercy
In the Animation -.- Flames didn't make a game for this, he just linked to other vids for sparing. Everyone who watched the Animation should have seen them pop up on the screen XD Not sure about Disbelief games, though - Lots of people have tried to imitate Flames, but they aren't quite... Successful.

I've listened to phase 4 so many times and I only just realized you used the drum loop from bonetrousle in it. Brilliant work that continues to surprise me.
The phase 1 intro just makes me cry because you can just hear the pain in the song. You can feel the pain Papyrus feels. Especially here: 0:04 - 0:12 Then in the phase 1 battle you can hear and see his sadness and how he wants to destroy you. The battle text saying "Papyrus no longer believes in you." just makes me tear up. The phase 2 intro shows you that he's not done with you. Now he's willing to do whatever it takes to kill you. He has determination but not DETERMINATION. The phase 2 battle is Papyrus really trying to kill you out of anger. You killed his brother. And his friends. He's gonna kill you. Then he fails. He just can't kill you. The phase 3 intro shows that Papyrus is trying to bring Sans back and thinking he can. The phase 3 battle shows that Papyrus has gone insane. The music also shows this. Not only does he try to bring Sans and Undyne back, he completely loses himself. He's not Papyrus anymore. Then, he realizes. He shouldn't make his brother and his friend up because they're dead. The phase 4 intro and battle is Papyrus giving you one last chance to be good and do the right thing. You don't. Your power hungry self wants to kill him. Papyrus keeps giving you a chance. You refuse them. He then gives you one final chance. He spares you. You then brutally kill him with him yelling "I still believe in you!" You don't let him finish. You strike a blow every time he talks. He's now dead.

The Sans fight has 2 phases. Disbelief Papyrus has 4. The Sans fight uses 1 main song (Megalovania) and uses The Choice briefly. Disbelief Papyrus uses 4 main songs as well as But The Earth Grew A Spine. Papyrus really is the greatest.

Same,I Found This Piece Of God Tier 2 Years Ago.
The phase 1 intro just makes me cry because you can just hear the pain in the song. You can feel the pain Papyrus feels. Especially here: 0:04 - 0:12
Then in the phase 1 battle you can hear and see his sadness and how he wants to destroy you. The battle text saying "Papyrus no longer believes in you." just makes me tear up.
The phase 2 intro shows you that he's not done with you. Now he's willing to do whatever it takes to kill you. He has determination but not DETERMINATION.
The phase 2 battle is Papyrus really trying to kill you out of anger. You killed his brother. And his friends. He's gonna kill you. Then he fails. He just can't kill you.
The phase 3 intro shows that Papyrus is trying to bring Sans back and thinking he can.
The phase 3 battle shows that Papyrus has gone insane. The music also shows this. Not only does he try to bring Sans and Undyne back, he completely loses himself. He's not Papyrus anymore. Then, he realizes. He shouldn't make his brother and his friend up because they're dead.
The phase 4 intro and battle is Papyrus giving you one last chance to be good and do the right thing. You don't. Your power hungry self wants to kill him. Papyrus keeps giving you a chance. You refuse them. He then gives you one final chance. He spares you. You then brutally kill him with him yelling "I still believe in you!" You don't let him finish. You strike a blow every time he talks. He's now dead.
