- I have released my 3rd CD called "AIR". shop.per-olovk...
I play music by: Dowland, Galilei, Weiss, Bach, Handel, Albinoni and Pachelbel. All, popular classical pieces that I have been asked to record on a CD. And here it is!
You can order it from my website shop.per-olovki... and also listen to sound samples there.
I am posting a Bach Preludium in C-Major from "The Well-Tempered Clavier" today. This prelude also served as the basis for the Ave Maria of Charles Gounod. I hope you will like my arrangement.
I will soon post more music from my own hand though I can't compare with Bach... :-)
Love you all!
Per-Olov
The Well-Tempered Clavier (German: Das Wohltemperiertes klavier), BWV 846--893, is a collection of solo keyboard music composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. He first gave the title to a book of preludes and fugues in all 24 major and minor keys, dated 1722, composed "for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study." Bach later compiled a second book of the same kind, dated 1742, but titled it only "Twenty-four Preludes and Fugues." The two works are now usually considered to comprise The Well-Tempered Clavier and are referred to respectively as Books I and II. The Well-Tempered Clavier is generally regarded as one of the most influential works in the history of Western classical music.
The best-known piece is the first prelude of Book I, a simple progression of arpeggiated chords. The technical simplicity of this C Major prelude has made it one of the most commonly studied piano pieces for students completing their introductory training.

Thank you so much for your kind words! To me, music is about feelings and not so much about ''showing off'' or promote yourself. I am glad it can be heard in my playing.
All the best,
Per-Olov
Can we just appreciate the fact this man still hearts and responds 6o comments 11 years later?
I've been looking for a really good version of this music. I've looked at countless videos, listened to a few seconds or so, then stopped and kept on searching. Then i came across this... i listened to the whole piece, and thought"wow", thats the one i've been looking for.
Dear Sandy,
Thank you. I a happy to hear that. I love Bach and every time I play him, I hear new things and melodies.
All the best,
Per-Olov
The mellow and calm tone of the classical guitar relaxes me.
I just taught my daughter how to play this on the piano this weekend...now, I need to learn the guitar so I can play Bach there as well....just beautiful...thank you!!
It's like I'm carrying a great weight kept for a long time in my heart, full of sorrows, sadness and frustrations ... that can only come out in the tears that I shed when I'm crying listening to this beautiful melody and the feeling of this man touching it... Thank you, it's really necessary for the soul
Dear Tim! Thank you! Even if this is done with some sore fingers. I haven't played for 5-6 weeks. Good to be playing again.
Per-Olov
Elegant and beautiful .. When one understand and enjoy the ability to play such an amazing composition, they enjoy the true sense of being alive .
That tone! simply lovely.
Hi Vic,
I agree. Amazing man. And thinking he was most known in his time for his improvisations!! NOT his compositions... How weird and sad isn't that? Can you imagine what we missed!! Sigh... I have to meet him in Heaven to ask him to play for me... :-)
Saludos,
Per
:-) Thank you my friend. Great to be playing for you again.
Per-Olov
Wonderful. This should be a part of every guitar player's repertoire no matter what kind of music you play.
Thank YOU Harry. i am honored you listen to me.
Per-Olov
This is brilliant... if I closed my eyes i could even feel the crescendos and decrescendo like I was listening to the great man himself. Really well played👏🏼👏🏼
Amazing performance , I cant stop listening .
That s what i call Pleasure. Thank you for share all those masterpieces
Listening to you playing makes me feel peaceful. Thank you!
Bach will love you
Yes, I am. The best solution I could find for this tricky bar...
Kindly,
Per-Olov
Thank you for this. The difficult chords are played in much easier positions than I've seen elsewhere and starting some arpegios on the fifth string is also new to me and appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
I remember envying you as a kid 10 years ago. Glad to see you are still uploading and motivating the next generations!
for some reason this almost brings a tear to my eye and I don't know why. It gets slightly happy toward in the middle but then brings the sadness back. Feels like the person who wrote it was telling a story about losing a loved one, remembering the happy times and then yearning for them. Well played, sir.
Brilliant as always, Maestro Per-Olov! It's always a joy to listen to your amazing playing. Bach would be proud of you! Thank you.
Thanks. It's great to be back. Please keep listening to my guitar.
Per-Olov
Listening to your delicate interpretation of Bach

Thank you. I hope so.
All the best,

Hi there Sabine! Thank you! I am happy you liked my 'rusty' version.
Love,
Per-Olov
Thank you. I missed to be around too. I am happy you still listen to my rusty fingers.
Greetings,
Per-Olov
Hi Julian. I have to say this is not so easy on the guitar. I wish I had 10 strings in this! Your comment about not much room for manoeuvre is spot on!
Per-Olov
Absolutely brilliant!! 🙏
Thank you! Appreciated!
This is one of my favorite youtube version of this piece. Not romanticized, letting Bach's hidden melodies and musical structure show themselves. I look forward to more of your work.
Per, your love for Bach is obvious, pervasive and contagious. I particularly like this piece and thoroughly enjoyed your thoughtful interpretation. Thank you so much. Your friend in Bach, - Athan
Hi dear Athan,
How are you? I am little rusty after 6 weeks of no playing. Now I am back, stronger than ever... :-)
Glad you liked my Bach.
Per-Olov
... and thanks for listening to me.
Have a great week!
Per-Olov
Just the right tempo and touch, found my bliss with this one. Thank you Per-Olov.
Thanks. I am happy you listen to me.
Per-Olov
Welcome back, Maestro. I started practicing the Christopher Parkening arrangement of this about 30 years ago. I was almost ready to post a video of it, but now you've spared me the embarrassment. Thank you. I can move on to something easier. This is one of my favourite Bach pieces to play poorly on the guitar. Great way to start the new year.
This is a masterful transcription from the keyboard original - thank you.
Amazing! I tried to play this in my guitar and I managed to play the first couple of measures, but then the hand position started to get all weird and I could not play the notes anymore. Somehow you managed to play it. Again, amazing achievement! Respect!
You can do it! :-) And thank you!
Hi there. I am happy to hear that! It's very nice to play.
Per-Olov
Fantastic, Bach was such a Master in Harmony, couldn't help analyzing what I was hearing in ,such rich patterns. This man was far ahead of his time. All those beautiful chord inversions, diminished sounds, as a Jazz musician one can not but love this rich food for thought, I'll be back to analyze in depth. I see one dis-like here, sorry to say probably a deaf or total A-musical individual, great Per,Vic.
Bach mysterious and majestic... Your performance is especially beautiful.
Ahhh. Merci mon cherie! I am glad to know you love Bach too.
Hugs back,
Per-Olov
Thank you Per-Olov! This is one of my favorites. I'm glad you are back!

Per-Olov
Hi Per, you played this song beautiful with big feelings!!!! You are the maestro of Guitar lovely greets from Stefan
Amazing. As a piano player I didn't know that was even possible on guitar! Hmm... six notes in each chord, six strings, so I suppose it is possible, but not much room for manoeuvre! Skilful playing indeed! Thank you for sharing.
Sir, usted es de los más musicales guitarristas que haya oído (Y)
Perfect Timing: Sunday evening, and by now every living Soul in my house is sleeping. A glass of red wine... and Per.Olov playing Bach as it is supposed to be played. Maybe there is A God, after all?
We sure missed ya!
Pascal.
Благодарю, прекрасно!
