Worked on a WIC this weekend one of many because of a crazy heat wave. Danfoss optima unit. Installed by a RUclips certified Mechanic. Wire dangling from contactor just chilling. When I moved it to see where it was going it touched a bare earth wire and made a loud bang which tripped the breaker. Nearly soiled myself. Why would anyone just leave a live wire hanging in the unit. I was tired after a hectic late night of calls and if I have of touched this wire it could have ended A lot worse. Anyway that’s my tale of the day. Thanks for another great video. You crack me up.
Started calling my lazy co-worker "tippins" as he likes to sit and chit-chat holding a cup of coffee rather than work. He hasn't figured out why I've been calling him that, lol... Something I've always done when I either installed a fitting with a valve core or discover a fitting with one is put a zip-tie on the pipe as a reminder.
good idea to mark them and great if you're guaranteed to be the only service person touching them. otherwise who's to say "hack and moe" wasn't there between your visits and removed the core and left no info on their service. whooosh goes mr. or mrs. charge.🙃
Pretty tight on that second prep table reach in, I can imagine changing that thermostat and pulling those bottles out was a pain in the arse I probably wouldn't have filmed it either
Nice work Dave, A proper Blue collar fix would have been a pinch off, swage then boom, no need to recover😂 P.s I'm watching this video while on vacation in Sardinia (Italy) sat on a roof top terrace, drinking prosecco (life doesn't get better, back to reality in a couple of days) 🤠
I recently had a warranty Manitowoc repair, and it was a bad fan cycle switch. I called Manitowoc, and their tech said, "Just bypass it." Now I have done that in the past and haven't had any harvest issues yet, but I'm sure someday it will bite me in the ass. Great video showing how it should be done! Side note: Your van organization gives me anxiety 😂😅.
they're likely figuring most people have them indoors in confined hot space, so it's often not needed. or have they modified them using an ambient sensor and relay on control board?
Dave? I'm curious. I still don't understand fans. What direction was that blade. That would be a great video, btw. CWLE, CCWLE, CWSE,CCWSE, and all that jazz. Especially on how to know which way thw air is pulling. UCR/RIR overhead and UCR vertical with the skeleton motor. I always have to go oem making the customer wait. Thats not good.
at least they try to label the motors with some consistency now, before they often just listed the reversing wires colors and said CW or CCW and never stated if that was from lead end or shaft end and the mix of which was half and half. never knew what you was going to get until power up! as for the blades, they should all have rotation and air flow direction arrows stamped in either at the spreader or on a blade. that's another guessing game and real hard to tell on some because they're very symmetrical looking. 🤬
The key is take the system you're looking at and reconfigure it to the way you know, if it Will work. the best. Besides the engineering companies that engineer the stupid s*** I always take apart and reconfigure it and modify my Customers. systems. To Work. The way I want them to Work.
@@NorCal-refrigeration they need to put it back on the market without all that electronic stuff. It would sell out on pre orders for a sidewalk van. I think it's a lil bigger than the small one they have now except for the Benz one.

I've got the inficon qs5 vacuum pump. Very cheap pump but has worked great. I've had it for six years!

I guess it depends on how much of a hurry you’re in but I just usually use a pinch-off tool and not mess with the charge and vacuum.
agree on the recovery machine I got the same one it's been dropped ,kicked around beat to hell and still fires up every time and gets the job done 👍
