Great vid guys, I own an XR what an amazing machine. I do have to say I think South Africa has better weather than the uk , I wouldn't mind ride there.
The XR has known engine vibration issues...most other reviews have commented on it being really unpleasant. Not all inline 4s are buttery smoother unfortunately.
can you please comment on the center light that both these bikes seem to sport in the direct middle of the front fairing. US models do not have this and I was wondering if it is actually lit or merely reflective. thanks
I put one on my FZR 1000 to be different, and liked the way it looked, it was an actual light. I'm not positive, but I think they are running lights. I had a hard time finding one, but maybe try EBay UK.
I keep posting about the R1200RS in that it is not an RS its really an S even though BMW says so. Tracing the roots of the R1200RS you can find the bike that most closely resembles the RS of today. THe R1200ST is the most direct descendant. Although the ST1200 was not as popular as its predecessor, the R1100s in its various model trims. The form function and control layouts are nearly the same. Differences being the clip on handlebars and the unpopular stacked headlight being the big turnoffs of the R1200ST. Just like the new RS the ST could mount the Standard BMW Side cases and Trunk modeled accessories, just like the RS water boxer. The ST even could say its bodywork was more comprehensive and offered better lower body wind protection. Which brings the full point forward, the Water Boxer R1200 and R1250RS is not truly an RS but rather a true “S” model because it does not cocoon the rider with full weather protection! The old original RS did just that. In some cases the wind and weather protection worked better than the R100RT full fairing with rider leaning forward in standard position behind the unique fairing that pushed wind and rain around and behind the pilot of the Autobahn Blitzer at speed on the old RS! No, they are just a newer version of the “S” bike. Which by the way will wipe up the road of any V100 Mandelo, you can bet on it.

No comments on the XR's excessive engine vibrations?
+Kyle De F. From an inline four? Highly unlikely.

Were you the bloke complaining about engine vibes on the RS on another video?
I don't think so, I've only mentioned the engine vibe issue with the XR. Why?
Kyle De F. Sorry, I thought you might be a troll. My apologies.

its a daytime running light - some countries require them by law...ie NZ does
Got a rs on order for a pick up on the 10th.
I only wish they swapped engines with these two bikes! Would love to be able to buy the comfortable sport touring RS with the S1000RR engine!
Great show! XR wins 🎉🎉🎊🎉
You guys are awesome
I am following ""The Bike Show"" because of Harry :)
