    V10 owner here too. This video is great and precisely what I was looking for. I predict I will be doing this job in the fairly near future, but the tips for remedying a noisy pump is much appreciated. I’m wondering if I do have to go this far into stripping the front end, it might be worth replacing some other stuff at the same time such as engine mounts.

    Brilliant video! Thanks! 👍
    I'm afraid I'm going to have to do the same to my 2009 Touareg R50 soon. For some time now my servo has been gone when temperatures drops below freezing but been OK at temps from a few degrees Celsius Now the problems seems worse with the servo not functioning at ~5 degrees Celsius.
    My first thought (and still my hope) is that it turns out to be a simple electrical fault - as if there are such things... 🙄

      I too wish that yours is an electrical fault, worth checking, either servotronic errors exist once VAG scanned, or take left front wheel off, and you will see a 2 wire harness in the direction of the power steering rack, connecting to a servotronic solenoid. Wires could also be damaged, or possibly replace the servotronic solenoid valve for testing. Access too valve is easy from underneath. If replacing/removing the servotronic solenoid valve, power sterring fluid will run out and then stop, not all runs out. Good for a power steering flush but then opening the resevoir on top, more runs out. There is a small gauze/filter(tiny) on the end of the valve, maybe blocked. If not then replace the pump, pfff, Just take care as this V10 is heavy. Be safe.

    Curious, why are you calling it A/C compressor OR power steering pump? Are they integrated in one another?

    • @maluco4979
      @maluco4979  Год назад

      No, not integrated, I meant if You need to replace one or the other. They are in the same location driven together via a rubber coupler. In front the AC, then rubber coupler (070903327D, 070903327C), then power steering pump at back of motor.

      @@maluco4979 awesome, yeah after writing this question, I looked at it more closely and see exactly what you are talking about. I just acquired a V10 myself, and my power steering might be going out. The pump is making some whirring noises when steering, and the fluid is pretty dark brown in the reservoir. After removing A/C compressor, is the power steering pump accessible too with the method you show in this video?

      @@bigjules1234567890 In My case, I had ZERO power steering, on stand still one could not turn the steering wheel. If in your case, noise, I would suggest do a complete power steering flush first, motor off, front wheels in the air, undo pipes on steering rack, turn left/right, all liquid out, re connect pipes, fill up, turn left/right, many times, once full, start and see. Also, the power steering resevoir has a filter, which could restrict flow. Clean or replace resevoir. The power steering pump is very easy to replace, once at that point. BUT, the replacement pump is extremely important that it is the same type. I uploaded 2 more videos of the issues I ran into with these power steering pumps. I landed up doing special solutions(reason for not uploading) to resolve My issue.

      Lol. I just bought a V10 TDI and the power steering pump is noisy. Was hoping for an easy job - guess not.

    Definitely autistic design. I own 2 V10 Touareg s definite plans to drop out the bottom. Thanks for your video revealing this method of removing. I wish the turbos were easier. And the RHS turbo actuator. Either way these are still awesome machines , just the cost of doing the business of its cool

      Indeed, Definitely autistic design... but, when running correctly, a awesome machine.
