There's a huge disconnect between products and what the actual chase cards are even worth. If people realize that's its not worth buying into breaks the game is over. The breaker business to me was basically always gambling. The ROI is not there, just save your money and buy the cards. Don't let these people profit on you
I agree. I tried a few breaks after getting back into Marvel cards. But as you say, the ROI was not there. And even buying hobby boxes to chase the cards you want isn't worth it. It's almost just worth it to just buy the cards you want as singles. And based on some of the horror stories in breaking, I'm avoiding it altogether. Just not worth the hastle.
@@ggriesenauer Exactly people don't like to see things as a total sum, they will spend over 5k on breaks and get nothing but then the one time they spend 100 and hit a 1k card they want to brag like look i 10xed my money but will refuse to look at the actual total money spent.
FOLLOW-UP to the Gamestop story: already an incident from the dailydot that reported a man that submitted $375,000 of declared value (including rare vintage Star Wars cards) to be slabbed by partial parent PSA lost by Gamestop employees.
More fool the man who left that amount of cards with someone on minimum wage, would you leave $375k with the cleaner at Bloomberg? It’s beyond moronic.
Why blowout allowed them to run up a tab that high and continued to ship them products is beyond me; my guess is they close shop and re-brand under a new name to avoid paying any if that money back to blowout. But, what happens going forward when they try and get inventory? Who would supply them with product 🤔
In the US For service businesses for example window installing companies if you get sued you can just file for bankruptcy and then be back in business as a new company under your wife’s name by the next week. Idk if this would be a different scenario but I doubt there’s different rules for card breakers.
They can claim bankruptcy protections if a judge goes with it? Debt vs. true wealth? And sports card fans think I'm a loser because I refuse to go bankrupt for cards. Just more BS lies from another breaking company. 🎉😂😅
I can't believe G from Platinum would not have the products. I mean after doing breaks 24/7 due to cocaine fueled all nighters he should have more than enough cards to give to his clients!
Just shows how stupid people in this industry really are. You have a perfectly legal (scam) money making operation as a breaker, yet the greed is so great, so compelling, that you must blow that up. Probably paying for crazy over-the-top lifestyles. Ridiculous.
You really don’t know how many people in this hobby are flashing money that isn’t even theirs. I’ve been to Dallas Card Show I’ve heard people talk about the loans they have out on 5 and 6 figures $$ of inventory
Just like every other company hold off payong bills as long as possible to keep the cash and interest piling in there bank accounts and you have to beg and threaten them to get ure cash
“Does an entire video about how much scammers and grifters damage their business partners. Ends the video by saying Trump is going to help the economy. No trace of irony.
Both things can be true, have you seen how markets have reacted thus far? Also, I’ve talked in the past of the correlations between crypto and cards which will see markets improve.
He did pretty damn good his first time. Maybe shut up and let him get into office before you criticize his handling of the economy. What's that thing you leftists love saying.....oh yeah, DEMOCRACY HAS SPOKEN.
@@DanTheCardMan2 I didn't say both things "couldn't" be true. I said it was ironic that you spent 8 minutes railing on scammers who don't pay their business partners and then throw out a supportive statement for Trump in the last 15 seconds.
blowout will get a default judgement meaning w/e profits platinum makes goes directly to blowout //thats if platinum stays in business //customers cards wont be part of the judgement the customers paid for the goods and services associated with the break(s) that were offered they are no longer platinums property only and unless customer does not pay for the cards and its left outstanding after good faith efforts are made to ameliorate the situation // thats my understanding of what they do in these situations dantheman this is why no regulations in this space is ridiculous and i have said wait till enough lawsuits start happening maybe then it will change and regs will be put in place
What’s this? Another negative, doom and gloom video by Dan? Haha. I’m not in the hobby so I’m not saying you’re wrong about anything you’re saying, but it’s so obvious that your YT analytics told you your negative videos did the best so now every single video and every thumbnail is just the sky is falling and sports cards suck. I mean why even be in the hobby if you hate everything about it so much? I guess you could say you want to improve it but then why do you focus on solely the negative? If you want to build your hobby up do some positive videos. Don’t just be a shill to the analytics.
I don’t focus solely on the negative mate. Most of my videos talk about issues through the lenses of how to improve the hobby or how collectors can navigate issues without being burned. Don’t just read a title or a thumbnail and think you know what the video is about.

Imagine ripping product yourself, it’s even worse. Easy way to bankrupt yourself

Respectfully if you are in business with crooks and con men don’t be surprised when you’re the next victim

Honestly, its Blowouts fault. Should never have allowed the tab to get that high. Especially from a breaker with the reputation Platinum has. SMH...
I would think if a company wasn’t getting there money within in the first 2 months they would stop shipping the product until it gets paid.
I remember the days when Frontline did NOT want anyone to know that they were blowout cards. Those were the days lol.

Blowout Cards should never ship product out before the customer pays for it that way they don't lose out
I was hoping to see the list of products, but accessing the court documents is difficult. Maybe we'll see something, if platinum responds.

Imagine seeing this dude from platinum and thinking it was a good idea to allow him credit
Looks like a bad time for Sports Card Radio to be on hiatis hah
we tried to tell em that but they are trying to make bank with the cryptocoin bullshit
Facts. The hobby is still too much of the Wild West

10 mins of my life wasted, never getting them back
😂

Platinum was shady since they showed up a decade+ ago. Blowout took advantage of customers for the last 5 years. Who should one root for?
Being dumb goes through all levels of the breaking element of the hobby.
Hmmmm what should we call our new break platform.......
Blowout made up this loss within the first day of the 2024 Topps chrome update release.
Platinum sold the majority of their business, it’s not the big breaker that it used to be.
Good shout
in the US, its actually common for a small business to go bankrupt and start under a new name when a judgment is levied. God Bless the USA

lawsuits work, ive won both my card related lawsuits.
Blow-out with terrible control of their debt. It's kinda their own fault with a year unpaid bills
Intersting for sure. I have a gut feeling that were going to see a lot more card related lawsuits popping up over the next year or so.
Just like every other company hold off payong bills as long as possible to keep the cash and interest piling in there bank accounts and you have to beg and threaten them to get ure cash
Poor Blowout.
Never get high on your own supply
good job dan !!

Great things to think of for the future
Why do people even do business with them they should lose every platform they break on biggest scumbags in the hobby
Buy Singles…
So blowout has been fronting cards to breakers? This hobby has become a joke.
What is a sports card breaker?
