Heres another benefit.... if you are a carnival cruise line cruiser you can purchase carnival gift cards $100 for $90 and $500 for $450. You can use these cards to pay for your balance, excursions, gratuities, anything on the cruise. I saved $250 on a $2500 cruise. 😊
I signed up for that $12 deal. And now I get so much junk mail. It’s literally packed on a daily basis. So I canceled AARP and hopefully they stop sending me and various vendors, a bunch of stuff shoved into my mailbox.
It’s not worth it. Because not every business excepts those cards. So you have to pre-plan and spent hours trying to figure out where are you can get the discounts and where you can’t. Absolutely not worth it.
Not that I could tell, I mean if you don’t really travel or eat out ever then I guess it isn’t super helpful 🤷♀️ but it’s saved me a good amount of money
That is true, BUT, the preferred card is primary car insurance. This makes a huge difference if you got in an accident with a rental. To my knowledge, primary coverage does not go through your normal insurance you have (for your daily driver, if you have rental insurance for that) Secondary insurance (most credit cards with rental insurance), you go through your personal insurance FIRST, then the Secondary Huge difference, that's the main reason I hold onto my sapphire preferred. Hope this Info helps someone!
I’m talking about my personal uses for the membership… there’s tons of reasons to have the card such as but not limited to (I get points from taking their free quizzes about health that can be redeemed for various ebook credit or restaurant credit, I get my roadside assistance from all state for fairly cheep, discounts on my bookings for major hotels, discounts on car rental , discounts locally on movies either free or super discounted , those are just the main ones I can think of that I’ve already USED
AARP says in fine print 18+ for membership, that’s what I saw

Just give them the mailing address of your previous employer. That'll take care of that problem
Aren’t there extra dues with the AARP membership. It’s about 6-$7 more I thought

A lot of credit cards offer that benefit (car rental insurance). Not just the card you mentioned.
