The novels are the world's WORST novelization of such a great classic TV show! I *so* wanted to read about Siuan's and Moiraine's love affair... and Mat turning to the dark of the side of the force... uh... pattern... But THEN when I found out that those stupid novels actually turned the magic system into some kind of STUPID binary-gender thing... I just couldn't keep reading them anymore!
@@Nyet-Zdyes Well it's actually divided by male/female sould and not body. When characters are revived in the opposite body, they use the magic of the soul's original body. Which would imply if someone truly is in the wrong body, they would be able to use the other magic. We have the One power which is dived by sex, but we have the True power anyone can draw on (which says the real power is above gender/sex).
@@Nyet-Zdyes One of the Forsaken uses the "wrong" (for their body) half of the One Power in the books. I'm not so sure I'd go so far as to say souls are inherently binary gendered in the lore... but the claim they are is hardly without evidence.
*Rafe has entered the chat* Balefire? Is that when they, like, teleport around in dreams? That's pretty cool, I'll include that in the next season!! Lots of dream sequences and teleporting! I was also thinking this show needs a Yoda. What do you guys think if we made Moiraine small and green and talking backwards? Improvement, right?!
Fun fact for the nitpickers: Layla did exist in the books, she appears briefly in the fourth, and is described as a girl Perrin had a relationship with and thought he would marry (but then never did). However, she wasn't fridged. There is a case of fridging in book 2, but it's a completely different character.
I would consider her an entirely new character based on the fact she’s so different then just a toss away mention of “Layla” who we see later on with her own family. But very good point!
@@DanielGreeneReviews Yeah, for sure. They kept the name and the fact she had a relationship with Perrin, then built from there. Similar to what they did with Kerene. Btw, if you don't follow Layla's actress on social media, I recommend it, she's hilarious.
@@xMortressx 100%. I think she has maybe two lines in total, and she's clearly just there to be killed to give motivation/character development to her love interest. Same thing the show did with Layla.
It bothered me how Egwene brough back Nynaeve from what very much looked like death in the books, robbing the magic system of some believability and weakening the future plot. Glad that didn't make it into the show!
Yeah... and the books are SO messed up! I mean, like, in the books, Egwene has almost NO healing ability! I can't *believe* the books stole one of the best things about Egwene and gave it to Nynaeve instead!
I am 650 pages into Eye of The World(finally) as we speak and I had to pause and scream, "Perrin's WHAT?". I thought I was hearing a spoiler, then I realized he was talking about the beginning of the book. Yeah, pretty big blunder lol.
I think they awakened something far more terrifying then a goblin horde, i think they awakened something big and old with wings and a wip of fire ^___^'
I mean, why would they even care? They only need those clicks and interactions, and likely they are getting even more now, from book fans who are going to eagerly "Um, actually" all over their comment sections.
Thank you for making this video. When I watched the screenrant thing, I thought two things. One, "There was a writers mistake and that they meant to say that Perrin's wife was killed in the books", and two, "I haven't read the book in 20+ years, and I thought I would have remembered that happening, but apparently I'd forgotten about it." So I really felt like I was taking crazy pills. I even replayed that section of the video to make sure I understood what they were saying, and I ended up assuming my memory was just horrible. So, thank you for making me feel less crazy.
For once my ancient enemy Greene, we can agree and this was funny as hell. 3 massive mistakes in 3 seconds. They haven't read the book and they haven't watched the episode and to top of the cherry to show their mistake as they explain it LOL. This means the editor, writer, heck the whole department hasn't read or watched the show. This is beyond funny. If this was a company, this is a 'you're fired' offense.
No one will be fired. These channels are essentially a scam and couldn't care less about the quality of work they put out. They only capitalize on trends to generate clicks and ad revenue. I have zero respect for those companies but the people working there are probably overworked, underpaid, expendables and struggling to get a real carreer starting. I just try to avoid this type of content and stick to smaller channels held by real enthusiast like Daniel.
@@MissCaraMint Nah that doesn't make sense. There is no way the editor was trolling. If he was he has basically lost them street cred among the entire audience. One of the factors that I utilize to judge an 'adaptation' is how well the writers understand the source material. GoT was successful for the early seasons coz DnD just basically put most of the core plot of the source into their show. When they started doing their own fan fiction later on is when the show started going down hill. With WoT, I feel like they made some fundamental mistakes like changing the One Power. 1 of the biggest themes of the show is how men in the power have been displaced and yet are needed in the form of a breaker of worlds [Dragon Reborn] to save the world. It means everyone is shit scared if and when the Dragon does come along again. However, that's the only possible salvation for the world and it has to be a man who can channel. It means doom. Making the Dragon reborn be either male or female changes the entire theme of the show. It lessens the impact of the Dragon being reborn as now all you really have to hope for is the dragon being female. Why wouldn't you just kill all males so if he was indeed born a male like Rand, kill him so the wheel can spin him out next time as a woman. This one change drastically alters everything. The Dragon being reborn isn't as significant then as it CAN be a woman. It means on a fundamental level these writers don't know what they are talking about. I think when I see something like this, it just reaffirms that there are those that have wikipediad stuff but haven't actually read the novels and unbelievably even seen the show. Why would you troll when you lose credibility by doing so for your entire organisation?
WOWWOWOWOW! Way to point this out. This kind of intellectual dishonesty just makes me want these content developers to disappear. Truth is hard enough to discern without people knowingly mucking it up with their poorly researched $$$driven "reporting". Exposing frauds like this is the only way to fight back!
I agree. But what about well respected RUclipsrs ending up shilling for production companies and trying to damage control shit shows that rip apart their supposedly beloved book series?
@@joek600 Thats very different from spreading misinformation to sell ones own product though. Opinions about the show is objective and you can give positive or negative reviews for your own benefit. There's nothing wrong in that. Plus this show is not a holiday gift to the book fans. Its a business. They dont care about ratings or pleasing book fans as long as they make money out of it. And they did. And all these butthurt 'Bookfans' are going to be there for season 2 as well after crying all over internet how badly they ruined their beloved book series.
@@smol6193 The point is that Screen Rant is a generic youtube countdown channel. Their poorly researched video means nothing in the greater scheme. Daniel on the other side has a respected channel by the core of the fantasy literature fans and he IS the Wheel of Time guy in youtube. His video reviews of the series can be summed up into a ''good overall with a few hick ups'' when in truth even non particular fans of the books can see that the show is a disaster. I dont know what really happened, maybe he feels obligated to the people who invited him on the set, maybe he has some future plans and doesnt want to burn bridges with some influencial people in the industry. I mean even Sanderson walks on egg shells when asked about the matter and he meaningfully implied that he is taking mental notes for the time when one of his actual works go on screen. Daniel came through as untrustworthy in this particular subject and the last thing he should do is calling out other people (even if they deserve it 100%).
@@joek600 As opposed to the thousands of intellectually dishonest rage-babies who review bombed a show they refused to watch because it's "too woke," based on pre-release information or, if they did watch it, treat it completely differently than they would any other property and over-criticize the fuck out of it because of that same anti-"woke" pearlclutching, latching on to the mistaken idea that this show will somehow "taint" the books they claim to love?
@@ambermetal195 You are assuming too much. Not everything revolves around your imaginary ''culture war'' and your cartoonish politics. There are several objective reasons why this show sucks balls and Daniel tried to polish that turd for reasons of self interest. Then he goes on and calls out some random guys that did an one off video. As much as I like Daniel's channel he dropped the ball seriously in this one. Which is also a good thing, because it reminds us that all people have their limits.
Layla actually exists in the books. I am rereading book four at this moment an imagine my shock when she actually appeared in there. Perrin meets her when he comes back to the Two Rivers. She is married and with child. Perrin remembers that he had crush on her at some point. She is certainly not fridged but she is not entirely show's invention.
Layla exists. LAILA is unique to the show though. THIS Laila is NOT from the two rivers at all. In the show, as opposed to the book, two rivers folks are black, where Laila is white. And for some reason SHE'S the blacksmith.
I think they literally just googled "Perrin wife book" and saw that she was in other books and went "oh well that's the same character so I guess she didn't die in the first book then." Leave the WOT stuff to the Goblin there guys
That's... really awkward. Making mistakes in those videos is pretty common, but THIS was so off it made me uncomfortable (and I haven't even read the books)! Incorrectly claiming something was in the books is one thing, but going on to claim it wasn't in the show WHILE the show footage of the exact scene plays in the background?! C'mon... that's just sad 😂
Daniel I went over to see if it was as bad as you said, it makes no sense to me what they said at that time "removed from the series" when they are actually showing the scene. Another one of them was when they mentioned Moraine "because Moraine's role was greatly expanded upon". Her role was NOT greatly expanded on it was EXACTLY mirrored from the bloody books. They also said there were 19 Books. Now honestly, for purists, it was 14 (in my opinion).
As someone who has not watched the show but is reading the books, I was so confused at that clip and was thinking that either I somehow completely forgot something or that this was a spoiler for something I haven’t read yet, but no, it was just Screen Rant lying to me
I had to thumbs up this as soon as I saw the title. I saw the original video and commented about that exact issue. I was mildly surprised to later see your comment pointing that out too.
I've seen this happen, not just in Entertainment contents but in a lot of other sectors as well. These big content creators like to post regularly and keep up with the world because they know people will watch it, even if they sre not interested in the content they put out. I've seen Sports blogs claiming a predicted starting eleven with a certain player in it while that player is injured or suspended. Its just poor research that saddens me.
Daniel, I think all fans agree. Let alone whoever liked Perrin the most. Not only did we not like Perrin having a wife. But also Elyas did not make an appearance.
I like to think the editor actually watched the show and/or read the book and made the conscious decision to use that scene. It's way funnier to me that way.
Hahahaha, glad you covered this! I watched that SR video last night, had to relisten to that fridging comment to make sure I heard them correctly, then clicked away once I realized they had no idea what they were talking about. Great Pitch Meeting impersonations BTW 🤣 😂
If I remember correctly Layla does appear in The Shadow Rising as a minor character at the first home that Perrin gets people to move to Eomond's Field.
below every high concept video you see concept video you see people begging for a series but instead of answering to the demand, Ryan just keeps making even better videos with even better high concept stuff.
That "fact" confused my brain so much that I thought the narrator was using extreme sarcasm to make a point about hating Perrin killing his wife in the show.
Yea, I saw this one and laughed so hard I almost peed a little. It didn't make me angry, it just amused me and then I threw my phone out the window...nah, I just laughed hard. There are SO MANY large channels that do this stuff alot with everything and get it all wrong...😆😆😆😳
There have been so many channels and “influencers” doing this. There’s even a guy who Daniel talks to during his premiere video who outright says that he has only just started reading Eye Of The World, and I saw later on another “influencers” channel at the very same premiere talking about how he has been a fan of the books for years. I hate being cynical, but unless they’ve been a channel talking about WOT for awhile, a lot of people just try and jump on the bandwagon of the series. Hoping it’s the next big thing in pop culture. I guess it works both ways though, as the more “influencers” who talk about WOT the more people who are unfamiliar with the series might tune in to watch it.
It’s the situations like these make me reaaaally “glad” that RUclips removed dislikes, just imagine the “harassment” Screen Rant would face after people pointed out their factual inaccuracy.
What’s dumb is that the content creators can still see dislikes, but we can’t. So RUclips saying it’s so content creators don’t get harassed is bull shit
@@musicgenius1948 But you're avoiding the dislike spiral. People see the video with many dislikes and they immediately know something is up. Some of them even hit dislike button without second thought, because it's a sheep mentality. And some might not watch the video at all, even if normally they would not dislike it in the first place. Imo they should also hide the likes as it makes literally zero sense to see a number of it without having anything to compare too.
@@metalcollection1I think that the majority of the time, dislikes are very important for both the people's right to express their opinion, and letting people know if something is up with factual information in the video.
There's so much I love about BookTube, but the most irksome parts of it are the hoards of inauthentic content, comments or personality. Glad you called this out. Sadly its not just limited to RUclips. 2 minutes before watching this video, I was "reading" Readers Digest list of 26 best scifi books of all time (my territory :) It had notable obvious (and worthy) inclusions, Snow Crash, Enders Game, Dune, Foundation, etc. A few random odd (subjective) picks (Ready Player One, Time Machine, The Martian) and then 5 or 6 books I've never heard of. With some of the blurbs/summaries, I feel like who ever wrote them looked at Wikipedia and didn't read the book. Im probably too cynical as well, and should maybe look closer at publication dates, but when I see these lists and there's more than 3 I haven't heard of, I consider if there's perhaps one or two new books on the list that are being marketed, and the only reason the list was made was to sprinkle these promoted book into the mix...your video points out clearer proof whereas I'm only presenting assumption.... But in the interest of calling it out... Great video
Didn’t the character made to be Perrin’s wife in the show actually exist in the books? I believe she was given a side-mention as “Yeah, Perrin did have a thing for her, but that was ancient history already in book 1.”
Perrin had a girl he was interested in, who lived in a nearby village. Yes, her name was Layla. When Perrin sees her again, she's gotten married... and fat.
Because of your videos I've started reading the wheel of time and man what I ride so far. I'm a tiny bit through the shadow rising right now and it might be my favorite work of fiction from any medium
For a moment I thought you were talking about Ryan Arey on ScreenCrush and thought, "NOOOO, not Ryan! I love his stuff!" But yeah, Ryan George's evaluations can oversimplify and miss important nuances. ScreenCrush is a great channel for deep dives into the MCU and Star Wars. He's a massive comic book fan and the depth and humor of his channel is excellent! He also has adorable conversations with is dog.
Can't really blame them for not wanting to watch the show and read the book, that is a lot of hours of time right there. But if your gonna cheat and copy some other kids answers for the test, try to do it from the smart kid, not the boy that eats glue in the corner.
Not reading the books seems to have been okay for the shows writers, why not do the same when making content about a show that you didn't watch or read the books.

The character that they have as his wife in the show did exist in the book. Not as his wife but as the person he thought he was going to marry and she shows up when he god back to two rivers to fight the trollocs. He visits their farm with faile while he’s hiding from the whitecloaks
That character and this character are 2 completely different characters. For example, this character is not FROM the two rivers at all. She white. Ironically making her one of the few book accurate characters, ironically. But still, in the show, two rivers folks, aren't white. So her being white means she's from elsewhere making her NOT the same character.

If ANYTHING you should be complaining MORE because they went through the effort of doing the research to go "Ok, IF Perrin were already married, who would it most likely be?" and then finding that person, and then proceeding to change EVERYTHING about her save her name exclusively for the purpose of killing her off for cheap emotional manipulation that requires ZERO actual effort. All book readers after episode 1: omg what did you think about Perrin having a wife and her brutal death? Screen Rant: well, as you all know from the first book... Perrin had a wife.
There has been A LOT of "content" put out guilty of this lack of integrity regarding The Wheel of Time. Much of it being negative reviews and opinions, the volume of these inaccurate offerings to the algorithm is pretty staggering. Granted, the source material is monumentally large and dense, but if you want to be taken seriously as any kind of journalistic entity or well... not a b.s. RUclips flailer, do try to get these basics down. 🙄
Anyone with a minimal appreciation of cinematography and storytelling knows this show has been bad, you can take all the turns of the wheel you want, the proof is simple, GoT and LoTR were huge successes because they were respectful to the source material, this one has been controversial at best and seeming an indie serie instead of a 80M $ production, also amazon invested and bought many positive reviews (you can see most 5* reviews of the show being generic responses from users with only 1 review in metacritic for exemple). Rafe Jundkins is a nobody who thinks he is better at storytelling than R.Jordan or Sanderson, what can we expect from him?
@@francesccampos1343 yeah hopefully Jundkins gets cancelled both as a director and in the online harassment type of way. Sanderson is an amazing writer and he captured the style of Jordan perfectly for the last books... maybe they should have had him write the screen play! and you know, used a competent director as well as book accurate actors?
@@francesccampos1343 Lord of the Rings was treated respectfully? See the Hobbit trilogy. Game of Thrones treated respectfully? See the last season responses for that. Now, you can have the opinion you want but this is what I'm talking about when it comes to integrity. You're trying to prove a point using bad examples and little objectivity. Cinematography was bad in Wheel of Time? I mean...I can't agree. It's hard to judge something so subjective like the visual look of a motion picture. There are good things and bad things about the show's photography, but it's hardly the worst. Storytelling? I'll back you up in regards to some of those choices, but it's wholly unfair to be taking it so personally to Rafe Judkins. It's well documented that he's fought a lot of battles over what ended up on screen and it's evident he didn't win every battle. You'll always have meddling from outside of shooting sources. You can only hope that there's enough of what you fought for ending up on screen. In any case your toxic attitude is exactly what's wrong with the coverage of the show. Too much ego and negativity.
@@artanastacio1569 The LOTR trilogy was certainly respectful, and the first 5 seasons of GOT as well. Funny those were the best parts, almost like a loss of respect is what led to the shitty hobbit movies and later GOT seasons.
@@artanastacio1569 You are so wrong in many levels. #1 THE HOBBIT IS NOT LOTR, they are complete different stories and books, such a basic mistake is beyond pathetic. #2 GoT was very respectful to the source material in its first seassons and only got wrong when they had to deviate due to not having source to copy. That was when it was clearly seen that nowadays directors are far WORSE in storytelling that great renowed writters like GRR.Martin. #3 There are plenty of cinematography aspects that are not subjective, this is an art that has been deeply studied and discussed about, not just feelings or opinions, such as those that people like you like to shield behind just to belittle other people criticism. #4 Rafe Jundkins is the writer, director and the producer of the show so he must face the decisions that he himself made in the show, and most of them are VERY disrespectful to the source material to the point that some of them seem like he didn't even read it before. I can go one by one if you like but this will take me hours just to list and explain most of them. All he does is cry because they didn't allow him to make 10 episodes, but what he doesn't tell is that they had plenty of time to invent almost 2 chapters worth of time of useless things that weren't in the book, added nothing to the plot and took the time from the development of certain (all male) characters. People like you are part of the problem why we aren't getting highly acclaimed stories in recent years. Validating every BS that ignorant new directors and producers with more political agenda than curriculum is what is really toxic. It is so toxic that you people don't even think twice about insulting the people who dislike the shows, no matter of the reasons that they have of the explanations they do.
Hey Daniel, can I recommend the Spellmonger Series, the author has just released the 14th main series book, with a ton of shorts and side series, same length as wheel of time. I totally love Spellmonger it’s so much fun, the author has planned the main series to reach 30 books… Thanks for all your work, huge fan here!
Easily the worst part of the show was giving Perrin a wife, killing her, then having to go through the grieving process. The books worked great with the "leaving my life" grieving
@@barbara3911 It's a really really really really really really stupid change. OBJECTIVELY you are actually wrong. This single change completely ruins the entire point of Perrin's character. @@haku8135 I liked that it made him seem more mature, more settled and ready to face life. I think it added a lot of depth to his character, especially since he’s afraid of his own strength, and that fear came true in a terrible but believable way. It was a genius addition.
@@barbara3911 No it wasn't. He's not SUPPOSED to be settled and ready to face life. That's the exact OPPOSITE of the point of this ENTIRE STORY. If the story was about a group of MEN ready and able to face life and secure in who they are, there wouldn't have been FOURTEEN BLOODY BOOKS! This is a story about BOYS that get thrown into the deep end and have to learn to accept who they are rather than getting to DECIDE who they are, and in rather unpleasant circumstances as well. Perrin's primary obstacle in becoming fucking settled is getting OVER his fear that his strength is something he needs to be afraid of hurting others, when it's not some force that acts of its own that he needs to control and hold down. It's just a single aspect of himself, and he needs to learn to express that in order to stop holding himself back and letting problems he COULD be solving slip away because he was so busy stepping slowly. You CANNOT trade that with immediate spousal MURDER. That COMPLETELY alters the ENTIRE course of Perrin's arc. And if it DOESN'T, then all you've done is make uxoricide a mere footnote rather than the pretty fucking serious thing it should be. Yes I had to look that up, and so did you, don't you lie to me. There was no reason to give Perrin a wife for him to MURDER just like there was no reason to turn Egwene and Nyneve into a couple of WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORES when what was originally WRITTEN already worked perfectly well. You can't even blame a lack of time, because any COMPETENT writer can establish the emotional connections and beats Perrin's story needs without seasons upon seasons of content. Up did it with NO dialogue in MINUTES. What the fuck is their excuse.
I like that the show removed Moiraine getting stilled at the end. Always felt like a weird and unnecessary development in the books that only served to unnecessarily hamper her character.
IKR? I mean, the show's Moiraine is so... human... likable. She's got all these worries and fears, self-doubts... and this wonderful kind of dominant love affair with Siuan! Then, those stupid books take her and turn her into someone with no real self-doubt, makes her even more ruthless, and, oh-my-goddess, it's even HER fault that they go to Shadar Logoth, instead of that stupid Lan-man's fault! Why, the first 2-3 books even make her look like some kind of scheming conniving manipulative female Machiavelli!
I started reading wheel of time because of you and to say the least I was disappointed, it probably has some of the worst female characters ever. All the females have the same mannerisms, it’s like anima they all have quirks but at heart they are the same characters, this is very apparent with the women characters especially. another massive negative is the writing every other scene is just raggin on the opposite gender I’m to the 6th book and it hasn’t slowed down every conversation includes a line like “men don’t understand anything “ and “women are impossible to understand” this is fine and I thinks it’s amusing but when it’s every other thought from each character you have to wonder why he keeps putting that in the book, from three books I counted over 100 negative comments about the other gender like I get it bro chill. Another thing he doesn’t know how to write, right after Perrin is told that his entire family was wiped out he starts crying into a womans arms as she comforts him while his gf watches him and not two hours later he’s thinking oh my girlfriends gonna be so mad at me for some shit, bro your entire family was wiped off the map why are thinking about that??? Daniel I would love to debate you on these books I think you read them as a kid and just have a blind spot here.
Layla did actually exist in the books. She was the woman Perrin thinks he might have married had he not left two rivers and meeting Faile. She was in the first family house that Perrin visited when he came back to the two rivers she had married someone else.

@@kyleellis1825 Yes... in the lore of the WoT, souls are gendered...
@@Nyet-Zdyes One of the Forsaken uses the "wrong" (for their body) half of the One Power in the books. I'm not so sure I'd go so far as to say souls are inherently binary gendered in the lore... but the claim they are is hardly without evidence.
I mean, it was pretty brutal in the books when they balefired her so hard she disappeared out of the pattern several Ages in the past.

Balefire? Is that when they, like, teleport around in dreams? That's pretty cool, I'll include that in the next season!! Lots of dream sequences and teleporting! Let's be honest the only thing on Screen Rant worth watching are Ryan George's Pitch Meetings, they've been carrying that channel for years.
Too bad their thumbnails are awful. Every single one is just "let's make their eyes huge".
I'm subbed to it and I've only just discovered in these comments that there's anything more to that channel than Pitch Meetings
Fun fact for the nitpickers: Layla did exist in the books, she appears briefly in the fourth, and is described as a girl Perrin had a relationship with and thought he would marry (but then never did).
However, she wasn't fridged. There is a case of fridging in book 2, but it's a completely different character.
Just went past this part in shadow rising and had to rewatch the show to verify!
I actually had to think for a while to remember the fridging. And it was also a character that was added just to get fridged too!
@@xMortressx 100%. I think she has maybe two lines in total, and she's clearly just there to be killed to give motivation/character development to her love interest. Same thing the show did with Layla.

Screen Rant- "I don't know!"
Daniel- "Fair enough!"

"Pitch Meeting" is literally the only decent thing from that channel, it's the IGN of movie reviews
I am 650 pages into Eye of The World(finally) as we speak and I had to pause and scream, "Perrin's WHAT?". I thought I was hearing a spoiler, then I realized he was talking about the beginning of the book. Yeah, pretty big blunder lol.
Hey, Do you wanna do 'The Great Hunt' Read along?
ScreenRant just pulled a Pippen and accidentally awakened the goblin horde....poor bastards
I think they awakened something far more terrifying then a goblin horde, i think they awakened something big and old with wings and a wip of fire ^___^'
Honestly a power move to make that video without watching the show or reading the books
I mean, why would they even care? They only need those clicks and interactions, and likely they are getting even more now, from book fans who are going to eagerly "Um, actually" all over their comment sections.
I lost it with the "super easy barely an inconvenience" and other Pitch Meeting references xD
Omg! This videos just keep coming and I'm not complaining!
It's very much giving writing a book report without ever reading the book.
A "you're fired and blacklisted from working in the industry and sued for damages to the company from your incompetence" offense!
The editor must have been trolling them. I have no other explenation.
@@TomFromMars I wish my channel was Greene small lmao

I think they literally just googled "Perrin wife book" and saw that she was in other books and went "oh well that's the same character so I guess she didn't die in the first book then." Leave the WOT stuff to the Goblin there guys
hm, well, they've seem to have discovered their mistake because that video? It no longer exists.
"Watching the show is barely an inconvenience" earned a like from me
Did they pull the video? I wanted to go read the comment section but I can't seem to find it now.
Yep. They pulled the video. No-one seems to be able to find it anymore
That's... really awkward.
We broke their vid. They realized they fucked up, and took it down! lmao
I started this video thinking "surely it can't have been that bad"
It was. It really was.
Sorry Daniel you were speaking, i was just mesmerized by that Goblin at the bottom of screen.
1:15 Speaking of Re-reads, you really need to continue that series dawg ;)
Daniel, I think all fans agree. Let alone whoever liked Perrin the most. Not only did we not like Perrin having a wife. But also Elyas did not make an appearance.
I like to think the editor actually watched the show and/or read the book and made the conscious decision to use that scene. It's way funnier to me that way.
Hahahaha, glad you covered this! I watched that SR video last night, had to relisten to that fridging comment to make sure I heard them correctly, then clicked away once I realized they had no idea what they were talking about. Great Pitch Meeting impersonations BTW 🤣 😂

"super easy barely an inconvenience." Alright Daniel I see what you did there.
I mean, the entire enterprise would just go bankrupt after such a debacle
What’s dumb is that the content creators can still see dislikes, but we can’t. So RUclips saying it’s so content creators don’t get harassed is bull shit
@@musicgenius1948 But you're avoiding the dislike spiral. People see the video with many dislikes and they immediately know something is up. Sadly its not just limited to RUclips. 2 minutes before watching this video, I was "reading" Readers Digest list of 26 best scifi books of all time (my territory :)
It had notable obvious (and worthy) inclusions, Snow Crash, Enders Game, Dune, Foundation, etc.
Great video
I really appreciate you. Everything about this was spot on and great. Thank you for this happy bonus!
The editor must have known and I wonder if they did it this way on purpose.
Was that a breaking bad reference at 4:22? 😮
When Perrin sees her again, she's gotten married... and fat.

Easily the worst part of the show was giving Perrin a wife, killing her, then having to go through the grieving process. The books worked great with the "leaving my life" grieving
I disagree, I liked that change a lot.
@@barbara3911 Honest question here... WHY did you like it?
@@barbara3911 It's a really really really really really really stupid change.
OBJECTIVELY you are actually wrong. This single change completely ruins the entire point of Perrin's character.
Answer me this question. What's the ONE thing Perrin is more afraid of than anything else, and has been pretty much his entire life?

Then, those stupid books take her and turn her into someone with no real self-doubt, makes her even more ruthless, and, oh-my-goddess, it's even HER fault that they go to Shadar Logoth, instead of that stupid Lan-man's fault! Why, the first 2-3 books even make her look like some kind of scheming conniving manipulative female Machiavelli!
loved the ryan george references look forward to the pitch meetings every week suprised to know u watch em too
Super easy, barely an inconv...don't roast ryan George, plz don't.
DANIEL GREENE. What's your top 5 La Croix flavors?? Do you like coconut? Or does it taste like suntan lotion? Thank you sir.
Wow, it almost seems like that video was done as a joke lol. When I saw the thumbnail I heard Ryan George saying, "Whoops" "Whoopsie." His videos on screen rant and his channel are so effing funny. I'm just waiting for the Wheel of Time pitch meeting.
Agreed, Ryan George is amazing and there have been times when some of your recent videos have a Ryan Georgesque moment or two which I enjoyed and did wonder if you were aware of his work. I even enjoy watching his Adstronaught sections, when normally I’d skip forward or end the video when the sponsor part shows. YOU HEAR THAT ADVERTISERS? If you want to get me then give Ryan George more sponsorship deals 😄
Hi there, hello. It's me, the adstronaut, and I'm out here in adspace to talk to you about.....
Yay I watch Ryan George a lot! It was super flashy to hear you, another youtuber I regularly watch, quote his catchphrases 😆
Thank you for doing this... You served up a great bonus video!
Lol, somebody done f***ered up! Great catch keep up the good work!
I finally got my hands on book one of The Wheel of Time and I'm so excited
"It's super easy, barely an inconvenience." I see what you did there. 🙂Wow, wow wow, wow, inside jokes are tight!
This made me lol, thanks for pointing it out. I never watch content farm list videos so I never would have seen it. A good chuckle to start my weekend!
Oh my goodness, now I just wanna see Ryan do a pitch meeting for your channel!
Your missing the fact that the video editor clearly DID watch the show and just included the clip without telling anyone.
